Altitude is the most accurate altimeter for android.
It also shows current, average and maximun speed, distance, time, direction of movement, physical address where you are, maximum and minimum height of your route and you can save them to see them whenever you want.
You can view your routes in Map, post them on your Facebook profile, and share them with everybody through instant messaging clients and email.
It is ideal for running, cycling, walking, hiking, skiing, go to the mountain, recording car journeys and workouts.
You can view graphs of the height and speed of all your journeys as well as partial statistics for each mile or kilometer: average speed, time, and elevation gained or lost.
It is easily configurable, and you can choose the units you want to display information: Km / h, MPH, meters, feet.
To work properly, you must be outdoor in order to receive GPS signal.
Altitude also has a compass to help you orient yourself anytime.

The graphical interface is reminiscent of windows 3.1. Have installed it twice and unistalled twice. I am sure it is very accurate and does what it claims but could not get over the layout and proportions ugliness.

Goes from 990 feet to 915 feet without moving. Also told me my sofa was going 3.3mph. Total crap.

Does not track progress when not acive. Strarted the app at the beginning of a hike, locked my phone and took it out at the end. Only the start and finish points were logged with a straight line between rhem, not the actual pathe taken.

I used one app and occasionally searched for others then I loaded the phone up with 10 apps , used each on 63 mile trip one way another on the way back (I make a minimum of 2-- 126 mile round trips each week ) and this one out performed others, impressed the most and THIS APP STAYED. I would pay if it was necessary. The UI is great and after stopping the recording on your journey, the summary screen is super. Thank you for developing and providing this app for us.
