About Classic Metronome

Drag the weight to the right or left to start the metronome! Tap it again to stop it!

Classic Metronome for Android is the best, most feature packed metronome application available on the system. This app offers the most advanced features available, including subdivision of beats, save/load, and distinct sounds for each type of beat. While other metronomes offer a boring, uninviting display, Classic Metronome utilizes the style of the antique wooden metronomes, much like those of Wittner. The vintage pendulum style allows users a third venue of anticipation – besides the sound and numbers. This metronome also offers the loudest sound and best accuracy on the market, not to mention the beautiful mechanical visuals. Every tick is pronounced and sharp, and each cycle is ended with a clear bell. This free app is the best resource for budding and professional musicians looking to hone their timing. It’s perfect for users of all calibers and instruments – from piano, violin and guitar all the way to percussion. For users who want the best metronome experience on the Android platform, this light, free app is exactly what will fit your needs. My hope is that it provides musicians the best music making experience possible.

The look is a huge bonus. Props to developer. It's fun just to fling the pendulum thingy around. Also with multiple skins and sounds I'm very pleased. Pleased enough to want to rate. Compliments to the chef for sure

Z70%

I had a Seth Thomas key wound metronome. As a working percussionist, this simple metronome meets my needs.

I was attracted to no ads so I wanted to support you by purchasing this!

I play the violin and it's just what I was looking for. The tone is quite high for listening in every moment!

Absolutely classic and simple to follow..a fantastic app. Highly recommend it.

Just purchased for on the spot use during my daughter's weekly piano lesson, we could easily change the tempo to 90 but not the notes per measure. Lame. Restarted phone, still won't change...Otherwise it's a pretty app, with classic metronome sound. Maybe a refund?

Works very well with a traditional look and sound

Z70%

It's exactly what I was looking for - great visuals and great sound. Tempo entry could be improved by allowing to move the weight up and down - perhaps with a two finger gesture for that to differentiate from starting and stopping the movement?

Sound goes off after a couple of minutes

Great app but software should be more comfortable for live sessions to load the playlist..then it's five stars..

This reminds me of the tone of my Wittner and is an app that I appreciate having for on-the-go, if I'm practicing away from home. Aesthetically pleasing visually and for sound as well as having save/load features, it is a handy app. I wiuld enjoy seeing a percentage option added: i.e., 90%, 75%, 60%...tempo, but this is a very small point.

Earlier app was better. Instead of putting in two digits for the tempo, now u have to do plus and minus.

It kept pestering me to rate, so I rated before I was ready to stop the nagging. I would have given better rating if it hadn't nagged every time I started it.

Downloaded most popular metronome apps and it's a delight to discover this traditional-looking yet modern functioning metronome. Highly recommended from a professional classical musician.

Like the choice of sounds as I can make it sound like the metronome I am used to.

Best metronome application on the market. I love the pendulum design - it's very beautiful. Plus, there's tons of sounds to choose from.

I like the style. Just what I was looking for is it possible to make it work in the back ground and louder volume

Love the app but sadly no drag on the weight while using ADW desktop so will try touchwiz now :) 5 stars if you make it compat with ADW

F70%
by F####:

This app looks better than any other app out there, and I want to love it, but there's a small problem which renders it unusable for me: when I start the metronome, it plays one full cycle and then the sound cuts out. Please fix this so I can give it the five stars it deserves.

Q70%

Excellent! My only quibble would be that it can be fiddly to stop it ..... i.e. tap the screen in the right place at the right time. A stop button would be helpful.

Yes, it would have been nicer if the graphics were photos of actual metronomes, but other than that, there's simply NOTHING about which to complain regarding this app; and the dev has told me that if he can get his hands on some hi-res photos of a few beautiful old metronomes (and the legal rights to them, of course), he would happily incorporate them into the app. Regarding this app, though, and its sheer and unmitigated wonderfulness, look no further! There are other metronome apps, of course -- sadly, most of them seemingly intentionally made to look more like a jet fighter cockpit than a simple beat-and-tempo-keeping aid -- but none that are as simple and elegant and functional as useful as is this one.. Of course, some read-life metronomes are fully digital and look like jet fighter cockpits, so I suppose those other devs may be forgiven; but there's nothing quite like a beautiful -- usually old -- analog, pendulum-type metronome. NOTHING! And no app mimics the look and feel and behavior of such a metronome as does this one. The features and sound are as realistic as it gets. I absolutely LOVE this app. Again, look no further. This one's best-of-breed! Seriously.

Very loud and works great. The tap section is a little off , I think.(might be me..lol) I use tap tempo on everything i play , so it is very important to me. maybe remove the sound of the click when you tap the screen. I seems like the flash of the tap does not match the sound..This is definitely a great app and anyone that plays music should have this

It's free and it's a very nice app and it works just as a metronome should. Easy to use and I understand how it works without having to read a manual. Harold

It would be perfect if the numerical measure count were shown as well as the beat. When playing in an orchestra it is easy to lose count if which measure is being played. Especially if you're just learning the

Brilliany time keeper. But now Kitkat upgrade has caused sound to cease after the first bar. I hope it is fixed. I miss it.
