Sainsbury's SmartShop

Doesn't scan properly, shopping takes longer!

Works fine for me.

What a poorly written app. For starters, it requires GPS/location services throughout and when you lose GPS in the middle of the shop, it thinks you've left the store and asks to cancel the shop! And when in scan mode, you can't see what you've scanned or the price, until you go back. Leave the scanner on and you'll drain your battery fast, and have to be told that it can't scan random things it thinks might be a barcode. What a stark contrast to the simplicity of other apps (e.g. Waitrose) doing the same thing so much better than this.

I scanned items at home earlier in the day, but by the time I got home from work and went to our store in Liphook, the list was empty?? Had to rely on my own memory, which isn't what it used to be!!

Used to work some of the time, failed to work half the time. But now, it just won't work at all, Everytime I go to check out, it doesn't send my shop to the checkouts in store (in the Alperton store). Had to rescan all my shopping again in the self check out every time, absolutely appalling. Won't be using this again, or the handsets provided in store, waste of time! By the way, I have tried with several other devices and the results are the same, even the store staff have the same problem!

We getting is on 14/10/16 in our store at liphook. We will see how it goes

Useless

Fantastic. The possibilities are endless! I live near 1 of the 2 stores who are trialling it and had all the features explained to me. Sounds amazing! Better than Tesco. Especially love that you can use the handset or your phone, and you can make a personal shopping list based on your shopping or by scanning stuff in your fridge! People going nuts over it not being available in your local store - be patient, it will happen. There were 2 stores chosen to trial the system first. Other stores will get it soon.

Don't waste your time going to Tesco's, I offered them this app last year but with many more and better options, but they weren't interested... so lost business to Sainsburys. Tesco will be to late to catch up now when they realise their mistake.

Need to be able to sign up for the app without having to select a store. I live in Brighton, and Alperton or Wembley are non starters for me! Also it would be really useful if the app also showed a store locator with live opening times, not just a shopping app

What's the use of only having 2 stores available? I don't live within 80 miles of them. Tesco here I come.

Just another one of those commercial apps that insist you sign up to use it. Will no doubt store and probably share your info and activities ... guess which buttons are being pressed next!

WTF is Sainsbury's playing at? Only 2 stores & the old Sainsbury's app with store locator has gone from Android!?! Totally unacceptable

All I want is an app that lets me do my online shop for delivery to home. Where is it??? As for publishing an app for only 2 stores... what about the rest of us! Just checked out the occado app. Think I will go there instead.

Location doesn't work consistently, takes forever to start, crashes mid shop and makes you start again. makes shopping harder, longer and more stressful than ever...! Even the local shop staff say it's crap! I'd be embarrassed to have published this app

Can only use it for 10 stores across the UK, pointless downloading it

What a shame, Sainsbury decided to remove from the AppStore their online shopping app. This one is just another scanner app! And only for two stores!!! I shall be using Tesco or Morrisons until Sainsbury sort this one out... (HTC 10)

Need this in Banbury!!

Easy to use

Brilliant barcode scanner, but desperately needs access to online database of prices and special offers. I use mySupermarket a lot and it has pricing, this needs it too, to be genuinely useful as anything more than an alternative to the handheld scanners found in-store.

An interface to the online store would be so much more useful

Another checkout option available to make my life easier, making my shopping journey shorter. Well done to the creative people at Sainsbury's..a UK first.

This initial iteration is a fantastic start and makes planning and then carrying out the shop in store so simple!

Fantastic app

Because I have a small baby and no car I do our weekly shop online. I was hoping for an app for online shopping; something where I could add to my basket during the week as I planned meals and remembered what I needed. Perhaps even the option to have an editable core list of things I regularly buy... perhaps even integrated with recipe suggestions... but no, this is an app for self scan in a pilot store. Please make an online shopping app!
