Don't buy American Standard or Trane! They want u to pay for wifi thermostat mobile app $9.95 monthly, after I paid almost $8.000 dlls for a new Furnace and AC, I will return it and get my money back!!!

The app is so freaking slow. From the time I click the menu button (the drop down menu where you can select events, automation, settings, etc), it takes almost 10 seconds to load. After the update when I log in it just sits there, been waiting over 3 minutes and it still hasn't finished logging me in. This app is garbage

F70%
by F####:

Does the job, albeit not in anyway elegant. The app interface looks like it's from 5 years ago. The devs should hire a good team of UX specialists to redo the whole thing. Nest thermostats are not that much me expensive than Nexia's, but their app is so much better.

Replaced Carrier Cor Thermostat with the XL824 that came with my new HVAC system. The Cor mobile app emulated their thermostat. The Nexia app is sorely lacking in functionality. The XL824 is a great thermostat so far but I have only had it a few days. I would expect a more robust app. This one is a disappointment

Was decent at first.... at least I could interact with my stat at one point... now??? The app is completly useless in its current state

U70%

It worked good for a couple months. Not working anymore and shows not conected. I tried re-install the app, reboot the thermostat and still not working

App needs help. Cannot control light anymore. What happened?

The only reason to use this is because I have no other option. It is the only thing available for the Trane ComfortLink II (which is also terrible). With all the advancements in home automation Trane and Nexia are a big step backwards.

U70%
by U####:

What happened?! Went from big fill the page interface to a little 2x2 box for my Trane system. And latest update in April disconnected my system from remote usage.

A70%
by A####:

The thermostat interface is terrible, not user friendly at all. The access on mynexia on a pc is much better. Not all thermostat controls seem to be available on Android app.

I only use this for thermostat control and it's fine, but extremely basic. There is a lot of good information in the "Recent Activity" feed but it is presented horribly. It'd be nice if they made an API available...

Geofencing FINALLY fixed? It was very Big Brother-ish as I couldn't get geofencing disabled. Perhaps now that I can, I may give better review, we'll see.

We just installed an American Standard HVAC system with the 824 thermostat. Our "old" system had a wifi enabled thermostat with a mobile app. We expected this mobile app to meet and exceed the functions of our former app. The thermostat is out only device connected. It delivered on our expectations with the responsive connection and quick relay of input to our system. The ability to change the temp setting is fine. We are very disappointed that we can't modify our schedule settings from the mobile app; we had this function with our previous thermostat. As a single device (thermostat) user, this app has been disappointing. It does not offer a full range of control of our thermostat. The thermostat and system exceed our expectations. The mobile app has been a disappointment in its restrictive functions. We would love to recommend this app as highly as we recommend the system, but we cannot do this until there is an expansion of the function controls; primarily the ability to control and modify the schedule and fan speeds. We'll remain optimistic that we'll enjoy increased satisfaction once these functions are included in the mobile app, but as it stands now, we DO grieve the loss of our previous app. We'll look forward to your function expansion updates...soon, please?

Nexia makes life much easier on my VRBO rental. Recommend it to anyone.

There is no way that I trust this company with my home security, webcams, home automation, etc when they haven't been able to get this app right for the last year. It doesn't even integrate with Google Now or Google Assistant. When voice control is used in the app, it almost always gets stuck listening and I can't get back to the regular touch controls to manually adjust temperature. When it does work, it keeps adjusting heat instead of cooling.

Monitoring temp and system function remotely is nice, especially ability to go in/out of permanent hold. Would like to be able to see more than 7 days of activity, and to enter a command to download data (send file to email )

Very good choices of other apps that integrate, only using the ac/heat now, but hoping to add more soon

The app worked fine from Sept 2015 til July 25 2016 which was when the HVAC view runtime tab for my 2015 Trane system was removed, that was by far the best feature from my usage of the app. Please re-enable this feature otherwise the Nexia just isn't worth it.

Slow response for an app that allows you to control a thermostat. Pretty crappy.

Z70%
by Z####:

THE GOOD: We use this app for our American Standard 940 and 950 thermostats. We love that we can see runtime history for the 940 single zone. We love that we can adjust the temperature using temporary and permanent holds. We love being able to see the damper status of the 950 for our 3 zones. NOW THE LACKING: unlike the 940, we can't see runtime history of the 950, I think it's because we have more than 1 zone. We HATE that we can't use the app for changing the scheduling of either system.

App is OK. The product is pretty solid. Recently I keep getting a red pop up that says unable to connect to nexia. In about 20 seconds, it goes away and the app functions as it should. After any action or button pressed, I get "unknown error has occurred" but the function works (like turning on or off a light). It's annoying that the red pop up happens because I can't do anything until it goes away.

The newer versions of this app amounts to being spyware. Despite it being indicated that geo fencing, and with it location tracking, may be turned off doing so in app settings has no impact. The only way to get it to stop is to kill the app... each and every time the device is rebooted. This needs to be addressed.

U70%
by U####:

Edit: Now I have a constant notification for Geofencing that, despite the instructions, cannot be disabled in the settings. The new update puts a constant notification telling you to enable voice control. This notification can't be dismissed and stays on all the time it is running. It doesn't matter if voice control is enabled or not. By the way, the voice control doesn't work anyway. Company needs to test its software before releasing.

X70%
by X####:

Update: Uninstalled again. App says geofencing can be disabled in settings, but it still will not allow you to stop geofencing without killing the task and disabling location. Until this is fixed, the app will remain a data big and still not be worth using. It works, but since the recent update, it constantly reverts to the temperature seeing that was set before the app update. I have to manually set it with the thermostat in order to change the setting.

U70%
by U####:

Fix please. I have geofencing disabled but still geofencing runs in the background. If I disable the location in app settings the app flashed when opened and is rendered useless, meaning location has to be granted access it the app doesn't work. Why give the option if it won't work without the location. Please fix.

Z70%
by Z####:

Ugh! This used to work great ; I love being able to control the thermostat from anywhere and check the runtime history. Now this geofencing thing is a disaster and the app just flashes like a strobe light. I'm reinstalling again to see if that fixes the problem.

U70%
by U####:

What a disaster! I've used Nexia and its previous generations for several years. The addition of geofencing has destroyed my ability to use it. If it's not fixed soon, I'm gone!

U70%
by U####:

Pretty solid platform however more user interface updates would be great along with better georeferences allowing the accessibility of garage doors to open when georeferences references are entered. Awesome or break down on the thermostats running information and statistics could be pretty cool.

N70%
by N####:

Pathsense notification is broken, app lacks basic thermostat features. Pathsense is fixed, but now the persistent geo-fence notification had taken its place.

B70%
by B####:

Last update killed the ap. It informs me that " a problem has occurred " and won't connect. Worthless at this point. Worked for 7 months prior to the update.

U70%
by U####:

Worst app ever. Extremely slow and absolutely hate using it. Great features but poor execution.

V70%
by V####:

Thanks for the fast response to the issue with the last update. Everything is working just as it should now. I'm an older disabled veteran, so this control is extremely useful.

U70%
by U####:

Awful. Just installed the thermostat and registered it. I then download the app and it repeatedly states "error occurred "

U70%
by U####:

App worked great the last year, now it will not at all since the last update!

U70%
by U####:

App is very slow and frequently crashes.
