POPCAP, the piclet.org prize for contemporary African Photography, is being held for the fourth time in 2015. The prize is aimed at photographers whose work engages with the African continent and/or a diaspora of an African country, and consists of global exposure at major international photography exhibitions.
This guide contains more information about the pictures and the photographers. Download and start the app. Point the cellphone camera towards any of the marked artworks in the POPCAP exhibition. The app will automatically recognize the photography and display some colorful dots that appear to hover above the picture. Click any of the dots to explore the contents of this guide.
If you swipe from left to right a menu will open which displays all of the pictures in this exhibitions. Here you can quickly navigate to any one of the pictures without having to scan them with your camera. This is particularly useful if you want to continue exploring the exhibition at home.
The guide is free to download and to use, but please note that your cellphone carrier might charge you for data transfer unless you are on a fixed data plan.
The app uses OpenCV Manager and will ask you to download this third party code library the first time you use the POPCAP app. When the download and installation of OpenCV has completed, please open the POPCAP app.
