A good app in theory, but in practice not so much. After adding my mobile number numerous times it keeps deleting it, and developers never reply to emails / tweets. Also, full of people trying to sell you services. This app has a long way to go before its anywhere near good.

U70%
by U####:

In Dublin people seems to use this app more likely casual dating instead of truly professional networking. Mostly matches are with the opposite gender and when I have said I am not looking for dates and I am already in a relationship, they just disappear. That's a pity how people are so superficial.

by Z####:

I used this app to help expand my prodessional network of people and so far so good. I have connected with a lot of people and I hope to meet many more. The user interface ia nice. The only problem I have is that the app will sometimes jump past people but it hasn't affected the connections I've made thus far.

If you are in the UK Shapr is useful if you live in Manchester, Wakefield or London. I am in Central Scotland and in over 600 profiles I have been presented with 6 scottish ones, and 5 french ones. The other problem is the users. There are four types of profile: 1) Blank ones, no use whatsoever. 2) Ones which make you feel you will get an bill afterwards. 3) Profiles which make you feel they want you to hire them. 4) Lastly, the decent profiles who are written in a way that you think you could have a good conversation with them and something may come of it. Unfortunately there aren't many like that. Why, on startup, does the app take multiple seconds to update your location, then totally ignore where you are? I was in Cornwall for several days and it made no difference to my choices. The app is 3/4 star, the promotion of it, I saw it in a BBC website article, is a 1, and the users are either 1 or 5, but not many 5s.

by U####:

My first real attempt at networking. Amazing concept, suggested around 30 swipes per day... we shall see if and when it occurs. On day two and I already have a couple matches! excited to find a few mentors in my field.

B70%
by B####:

Decent app,but my biggest issue is it doesn't allow the user to back out of it when they press the back button on their device. Using a Google pixel XL, it bugs me that I have to force quit the app or just let it run in the background. Otherwise, I find it convenient to have another networking tool to take advantage of.

U70%
by U####:

Basically worthless from my limited experience. Looks nice, but no decent connections. The 15 matches is absurd as well, especially since 12 of them are not even closely related to my field of endeavor. Seems like it's primary purpose is data mining.

I have been really enjoying this app, I'm meeting with some people I've met through it which is really neat. But I wish the gps worked better or I could set location because the majority of my suggestions are in Canada and I live in NY and that's a long drive so I pass them :/ I would really like to see more people that are really from my area. Edit: I am starting to get so frustrated with this app, it works just fine, except for the past several days I've had 1-2 or zero people from my state let alone my area in my suggestions. Make it so we can select a location because this is not helpful for meeting nearby people if they're across the country or in another country. Also, when is the Android version going to be as nice as the apple one? My fiance has an iPhone and his shapr is much more attractive looking, includes more things than mine does, and seems to run better.

U70%
by U####:

I couldn't give it full starts because you have to wait over 12hours for new matches and you get a maximum of 15 people per time to select from, but I imagine it's due to the app being new and not having many users. Other than that I cannot fault it.

U70%
by U####:

I installed Shapr yesterday. I echo the positive reviews AND the negative ones. I have two complaints. 1. The fact users must wait hours to view only a few profiles. ALL profiles should be available at ALL times, like LinkedIn, for example. 2. Giving only ONE minute to review profiles means I miss important information on the people I want to connect with. I can't read a bio in three seconds. Resolve these two issues, SPECIFICALLY the once a day viewing/waiting hours to view, and you will get your 5 stars and I will actually tell people about Shapr and highly reccomend it.

Met some great collaborators with this app. Would be nice if it passed LinkedIn links to the LinkedIn app rather than attempt to open them in the Shapr's own in-built web browser. I'm finding the in-built messenger features to be just a bit non-intuitive. It was not immediately clear to me that older conversations are kept in a different part of the app than what I see when I tap the envelope icon for starting new conversations. Also, for people I've matched with, their location seems absent from their profile (whereas it was visible before I matched with them). Still a great app though!

U70%
by U####:

Overall it's a great app and I've made great connections even within the first week of downloading it. Only thing I'd like to see added is the ability to search by field and/or location (distance from you.) A bit difficult to meet for coffee if they're on the other side of the country haha. Can't wait to see where the app goes from here ????.

U70%
by U####:

The idea is pretty great and I was excited to test the app. Without speaking about the lack of reactivity of the UI (are you using x-platform technology ?), I failed to meet new people. Even if some of them swiped me right, when the time to choose an appointment, it fails. I think you should improve the process, the app is OK for now :-D I will definitely come back later to check it again !

H70%
by H####:

Could be a very useful tool with more users. I'd really appreciate the option to choose my location, instead of using my phone's locator. Since I'm moving across the country, I was hoping this could be a way to make connections beforehand. I was disappointed to only be able to see a handful of professionals in very loosely related fields, only near my current location. With a few improvements and more users, this app could be extremely helpful. I have high hopes for the future.

U70%
by U####:

A great tool for meeting new people. The only thing I dislike about this app is that it forces users to use LinkedIn profiles to create accounts. Personally, I would rather not use my LinkedIn profile because I created my LinkedIn profile for a specific purpose that does not necessarily coincide with my reason for using Shapr. The Shapr app would be much better if it stood on its own without forcing users to use LinkedIn as a foundation. Other than that, I absolutely love the app.

U70%
by U####:

The concept is good. However the UI needs better fluidity. The app stalled on uploading a profile picture. The settings need additional options to be more narrowed or maybe even more broad. I'm not a developer so unsure how to even provide a reasonable explanation on this one. I deleted my profile. Will come back later and check it out after some time.

U70%
by U####:

It's a baby application so small amount of people in smaller city but there is definitely more and more a good participation to the concept. Let's just spread the word to get most possible people joining in! Plus it's free! Funny fact : at first I couldn't find easily the area where there is the conversation I could only see the matches. So possibly it could be nice to have the matches and the conversations at the place. Would make it easy. :)

U70%
by U####:

It's a great concept but being a shy person and a busy person I generally don't want to commit to meeting someone straight away - it would be cool if you could add people to some kind of list like 'interested in meeting' instead of only having a 'meet' or 'skip' button. I keep choosing the skip option because I'm not ready or able to meet right at this moment rather than because our interests don't align.

G70%
by G####:

Overall great idea and app. Issue where I'm unable to close the app in android (back button won't close it, need manual closure through apps). Direct linkage to LinkedIn would be nice. The matches and messages would be nice if it was altogether in one section and not have to navigate to a separate menu for message threads. Instead maybe have an indicator to show new matches inside message menu.

U70%
by U####:

This is my initial review: Love the idea and it's exactly what I've been look for. However, I've yet to have anyone respond to my messages, including the person who swiped to meet me! This is extremely disappointing. I'm hoping that will change but since I can only see new shapr users every 15hrs, I may keep this app long enough to know if people will become more interactive.

W70%
by W####:

The concept is good; however, the app doesn't enforce any community norms. People say they want to connect, but don't respond to messages. I'm not saying people should have to respond to everyone, but if the app detects a pattern of unresponsiveness it should start reducing access to contacts until behaviors fall within community norms. The app is only as useful as the behavior of its members.

U70%
by U####:

Love the app. Great concept. Tinder meets LinkedIn. I just wish they didn't limit the number of relatable keyword hashtags. Also, I was receiving an average of two connections a day for about 2 weeks period then all of the sudden they stopped. It's been about 2 weeks since I got a new connection. Only way I can actually connect with anyone as if they have their LinkedIn profile on their account and I can send them a personal message.

O70%
by O####:

Over all this app is awesome! It is Amazing in theory, and even more amazing in practice. Instead of wasting time trying to find a match on Tindr. Better yourself and surround yourself with better minds so you can better yourself. I highly recommend this app to anyone starting a business, thinking about it, or for those simply searching for a mentor to help them choose a life path to follow. This app will be big!

U70%
by U####:

I like the idea of connecting with professionals who wants to connect with me. The problem is that there needs to be two sections for tags: my interests and the interests of the person who I'm looking for. The section for "I'm looking for..." Should be more specific, with top ten tags, just like the section, "I'm interested in..." Because I keep seeing potential connections who are completely unrelated to who "I'm looking for." Good so far though!

H70%
by H####:

The app is great! The only thing is there seems to be a bug in the app, it restarted my timer, without actually showing me any matches for today. It might be because the app was open overnight on the selections screen while the counter was still going. Other than that, the user interface is intuitive and easy to use. I like it!

U70%
by U####:

Good concept but needs refinement. None of the suggested connections were remotely related to my industries. They all were completely unrelated even though I wrote a complete bio(many had no bio), linked my LinkedIn and selected a very diverse set of interests. Only 4 people were located within a 2 hour drive of me (Long Island, NY). There should be an option to select target geographical regions where you want to connect with people even if you are not there, or go global. Also, the app keeps putting my profile pic sideways and there is no option I see to correct it.

U70%
by U####:

Like what most others said. Great concept. However the app suggests people from way too far away... sometime over 4 hours away. If there were more locals using this I'd be interested but I'm going to remove the app to clear space on my phone

U70%
by U####:

I enjoy the app and enjoy the fact that I can make new connections with people. Thing I do not like about it, is that you cannot see who swiped you right to meet, only way you can find out is if you swipe through the selection and swipe right on that particular person, then it'll tell you if it a match or not... I would much rather it show me who is interested in making a connection with me.

L70%
by L####:

This app is a good idea and a pretty good start. Hopefully they'll add features like being able to search in other locations if you're preparing to travel or relocate. Also would be good to have the option to block/unmatch users who abuse the app and even report them if need be. Might also be helpful to keep last names private as some users have prematurely tried to connect on non- professional social media channels for questionable motives, though I understand that linking up with LinkedIn prevents any anonymity. Brainstorming on more ice breakers would facilitate conversations. Things like "ask me about...," "I'm working on..." "I'd like to learn more about..."

U70%
by U####:

I've had this app for 3 days and I've already met new contacts, and have a coffee date later this week to discuss a freelancing opportunity. The app itself can be a little glitchy, and sometimes I'm shown people from far-away cities (I just click 'pass' for those people), but the upside of the app is worth it

K70%
by K####:

Great app and perfect for my business that revolves around networking. Just had one problem which i emailed the support team and never got a response on... after a while I stopped getting matches, no matter how many swipes I did. So, I had to delete my account and remake one. Now I'm getting matches again.

U70%
by U####:

It has potential, but I think it's because of such a small deployment base that the opportunities who to talk to are limited. Needs to be able to allow you to swipe past people without actually passing them. Maybe put them on carousel. Would like an option to be able to filter out people it shows buy certain keywords. Such as I have no interest in anybody selling fad diets nutritional supplements or any kind of new agey stuff.

V70%
by V####:

Awesome app to match with people with a reciprocal interests. It is a much better way to connect than LinkedIn. I have one question: why I cannot see the full description of people's bio? It looks like sentences are interrupted, as if the sentence continues but it's displayed only a part of it. Thank you

B70%
by B####:

I like the concept but out of all my matches, not one person has initiated conversation and no one has replied even when I message them first. You'd think people would be more open to talk in a non-dating app lol

U70%
by U####:

Very cool concept. No rejection worries or sense of obligation to meet with anyone , it seems to remove any fluff and will only inform you of mutual professional interests. It may be a little bit of a buzz kill having to wait hours for the next potential people to meet, however, perhaps it helps play up the gravity of the importance of making new connections. You can showcase your own talents and businesses as well as read others profiles and the fascinating things they are involved in. You get to learn firsthand about new emerging companies and technologies. Definitely a winning app - worth the download.

N70%
by N####:

I saw their ad on Instagram, and I signed up because I swear it said something about it being like a plutonic Tinder. However, when I started filling out my profile, I noticed all of the "Reasons to contact the me" are crap reasons like "find a co-founder" and "freelance work." It seems like it would be fine for people that don't get enough recruiter spam from their LinkedIn accounts, but I'm not looking for that.

U70%
by U####:

I don't understand this - an app that encourages you to switch it off and come back tomorrow? When every other social media app strives for 24 use, this one goes to bed! How absurd can you get. If you expand your usage , you expand your users.

U70%
by U####:

Kind of like tinder for networking. I'm split in the middle. Way too many of those multi level marketing folks on here. Or sometimes you think you got a match to collaborate but it ends up being more of a sales pitch. Haven't had any collaborations yet but it is a great concept if used properly.

R70%
by R####:

Doesn't work whatsoever for me. Everything I've tried I get 'an error has occurred, please try later'. I've reinstalled, tried a different network. I'm not a fan of giving out my information for a service I can't even use so I'll be deleting my account.

U70%
by U####:

Like everyone else, I will say that this app doesn't really bring me people that match my focus, and the 15 cap is annoying. That said, I repeatedly return to this app regularly. Which means it's a proven MVP. I give it props for that. Looking forward to future iterations.
