Relationship Doula

I started my journey supporting mothers first as a volunteer. I had joined La Leche League when my first baby was just 6 days old, and found so much love and support there that I became a leader and have supported and educated countless mothers in their breastfeeding relationship. Then I started teaching new mamas about babywearing, keeping their babies close while making their everyday tasks easier. I fell in love with birth and its process with my first pregnancy, and went on to have 3 beautiful births of my own. After my third child was born, at home, in the water, into my hands, I knew I wanted to support other women in their incredible journeys. I trained as a doula, and have had the privilege of supporting many mothers in their birthing time, both in the hospital and at home. In all of these roles I was constantly educating women about their choices, rights, listening to their body, their instincts, what feels right for them. In the labor room I saw women lose their voice, their choice, their power. I spent many nights awake wondering how I could make a difference in this birth world. I realized that I couldn’t change modern maternity from the inside. What I can do, is help women find their own voice, their own power
