It works! If you have issues adding a device, do this... Start as usual. On the "Scan" step, turn off mobile data on your phone to force the search to go over WiFi to the Nexx Garage device. Then you'll be able to chose a network and put in the password. On the "Cloud Registration" step, you will need to turn your phone's mobile data back on and/or connect back to your regular wireless network so it will register in the cloud. An extra step, but it works.

The app is a Great idea but it's not user friendly and also doesn't have widget for shortcut access. I believe it needs a few more upgrades and options with notification, sounds, reminders, and sync times.

Doesn't work well on Oreo (Pixel XL). Was not able to identify home wifi networks during setup. Just Drive (automatically open door within geofence) doesn't work either. While I was able to setup using an alternate phone, the geofence functionality not working is a real bummer. The one good thing between this app and other garage door openers is that this one has voice alerts, but gogogate2 offers webcam integration.

I have a Pixel with Oreo. Initial setup did not work with the app. Once I connected my phone to the device, the app was unable to find any wireless networks. Customer support and I assumed it was a faulty device, so they sent me a replacement promptly. I attempted the same setup and got the same result. Failure. However, I decided to try a friends iphone and it found my network immediately. I did not try an older android device, however after finding success with another device, I would assume an older android device would work as well. Looking forward to using the device now, but obviously they need some iterations to get the app up to speed.

Have a Pixel 2 XL with Oreo and there are a LOT of issues with this app. It will do the basics of opening and closing your door, but little else. Doesn't record activity history, doesn't identify status properly, even logging in is a hassle because it cycles endlessly between asking for your PIN and fingerprint to get to the app. At least the open and close function still works with Alexa, most of the time. But this app badly needs serious updates.

After upgrade the oreo 8.0 the app not working correctly. Almost every week I closed the garage door but status said the garage door is not closed. I need to unplug the nexx hardware to get the closed status. Something wrong in app status report. Thanks

Same issues as other users with newer phones. I have the Note 8 and it never found my network. Had to use my son's. Older android. Also geo fencing auto open not working.

Device install and the setup to follow went well on my Moto Z Play with Android 7.1 and it has generally worked great and without issue. I have since added a wired-to-wireless access point in the garage to make sure the device is getting a decent signal and I have to wonder how many of the reviews complaining of unreliability would be fixed by doing the same. For these successes, I give it 5 stars. As far as I can tell, all account management is done through the app, which is both handy and problematic at the same time. Handy when everything works and, for the most part, it has and it is good. However, there seems to be a bug with this current version easily noticed when you try to use numbers in the password when setting up an account. I had to re-attempt (cancel and open the window again) several times to get it to take 1 number in my own account password. I guess I got lucky because I could not get it to accept numbers in the passwords (even after multiple attempts) on either my wife's phone (Same model & Android version) or my daughter's phone (Moto G Play with Android 6.0.1). Although not a show stopper, this issue does seem to need some attention. This is why I downgraded the rating to 4 stars. Since it isn't a "promised feature", I will just say that the auto-open feature hasn't yet worked for me, even though I have it turned on in settings. Here's to hoping it will work in future builds.

Great app

Seems to be a bug with the latest mobile app version. Garage door is closed but app says it's still open. Tried to change settings but get "field validation error" when I try to save settings. Logged out and in but still the same error.

So far so good. It does what it is supposed to, but the UX in this app needs some serious work. EDIT: ok, you removed the full screen app stuff, now you need to work on a more user friendly snooze function. Keep it up with the improvements!

Cant login. Tried reinstalling and same issue. Only email option to contact support. Still waiting after an hour to hear back. Been down for at least 2hrs now.

App works fine when we use to close garage door inside our house. However, when we try to close door using the app when we are departing, it will not work.

It's good great customer support but the app and cloud as well as connectivity needs some improvement the iOS app is better optimized but the android app has come quite a ways since I first got it. They just need to focus on the android version alot more. But I do love this thing.... Should add auto close feature separate from auto open!!!

8/16/17: It seems like the status isn't getting updated when I open the app, until I do a refresh. First review: Works well for me. Very simple and nice interface. Haven't encountered any issues with the app and the hardware so far.

Besides the instructions not specifying the distances between the garage sensor and magnet this thing is worth every penny. I love the auto open feature because I like to drive up to the house with the garage already opened.

The app is improving. I don't really like how it hides the nav bar for essentially one button.

Wondering if they tested this app with all versions of android, several buttons do nothing and there is no way to manually configure the wifi, still unable to connect to my network no matter what I try. I was finally able to complete wireless setup by installing on an old tablet with an outdated version of Android so increased my rating to 3. The open function works on newer devices and Android versions just not the wireless setup. I suggest the developers test and fix this.

Module works great, but the door sensor isn't reliable and the app won't let me dismiss notifications. I have to force close the app in order to dismiss the notifications. Also the app wants to open on its own while I'm working in another app. Never had this issue with any other app.

Cheaper than buying remotes for the whole family!

App works except for the auto-open. The latest update made that feature worst. Used to work and I used to love it now I'm hoping they fix it.

The app is glitchy; sometimes the garage opener units do not respond to the phone app commands. This results in having to unplug the unit from the a.c. outlet on order to reset it

Worked for 2 weeks on 2 different phones and auto worked great as well. Stopped working yesterday and I have gone through everything to fix. Gonna try again tonight and will return it if it vat be fixed.

The service that the Nexxdoor device provides seems to be working well. The app interface though..... this doesn't that feel like an Android app. It feels like an iOS port that wasn't extensively tested on Android. It works, but it ain't pretty. Fingers crossed for a UI makeover that'll take this app (in combination with the device as-is), quite easily to a 5 star rating.

If you ride a motorcycle you want this! Auto open feature works like a charm! Best Hardware software combination on the market by far!

Nexx Garage works well. Love the convenience of the auto open feature when driving up to the house! Also, very responsive developer customer service. I had an issue syncing with Alexa and got a response that solved my issue within 15 minutes. I'm impressed!!
