Simple File Manager

Very clean. Only permission is for data management. Would be perfect if it had some more polish: extension field should always show on rename dialogue; show file dates (at least in landscape orientation or with a pref); menu bar border should match custom colour (when files are selected); be able to browse contents of archives, not just de/compress; search for files by name; and "open as" for trying different types when files have no/wrong extension (via forcing mime-type on an intent).

No ads. No special privacy encroaching access rights. As it should be, just a basic file manager.

There's nothing flashy about this file manager app... it has very basic functionality with no bloat, and that's exactly what I want. Thanks!

Love the simplicity of this app, plus the no special permissions means I know I am not having my files data mined. Only downside is it does not seem to come up has a option when using db or other apps. Top work still o/

No unnecessary unused extras that slow the app down. Its clean and simple with easy to use functions. No ads either. One of only apps left where devs aren't just about greed

Just exactly what you need to view your saved files. No adds, not complicated and very quick to navigate. Many thanks to the providers of this useful app. File Commander is in the bin.

When i try to copy or move any file it say a.a An error occurred :-(

Very simple and clean, as always, but is missing a search function. How do you not have search in a file browser?

Just as the name implies, Simple File Manager is indeed "simple"... But that's a good thing, because it's designed to do one thing and it does that well. Unlike many of its competitors, Simple File Manager doesn't burden you down with all sorts of rubbish you'll never use and best of all, it's completely Open Source! Simple File Manager is absolutely the application you should consider using if you want a file manager that not only has great performance, but is one that you can trust.

Why is the photo order being changed when I move pictures from one folder to another now? It didn't do this before and now the time data is being overwritten

Quick and fast, smooth and light. It's clean, minimalist design is wonderful and straight forward and doesn't make it feel cramped. What I do hope that will be added are 1) the option to set the text-size and/or adjust the thumbnail together with its name (cuz it's too small for near-sighted people) and 2) have the "portal" (lol idk know the right term) to both the internal and sd card storage directories visible. It's the design I appreciate the most from most of the mainstream file managers. Sure, they're bloated, spammy, infested with intrusive ads and freaking delayed(which is why they're often abandoned), but their index' design and format really is convenient. It makes navigating a little smoother and easier and quicker. I hope these suggestions won't compromise its light file size though, because that's one of the main reason I've started using Simple File Manager.

A lightweight app that lets me use my phone much more efficiently - delete unwanted downloads, quickly locate photos from multiple camera apps, etc... Great work!
