About Decibel 10: dBA Noise Meter, FFT Spectrum Analyzer

"Decibel 10" is one of very few noise/sound meter apps on the market having highly reliable and pre-calibrated measurements. It turns your device into a professional sound/noise meter, precisely measures the sound pressure level (SPL) all around you. This extremely useful and beautiful tool will not only be a great tool for many uses but also bring you a lot of fun. Have you wondered how quiet is your room or how loud is a rock concert or sport event? "Decibel 10" will help you answer all those right now.

Most importantly, this app is FREE and we commit to regularly improve the tool to maintain its best accuracy and usability for everyone. If you like it or have suggestions, please support us by rating and giving us comments and feedback.

WHAT MAKE IT GREAT AND STAND OUT FROM OTHER APPS:

- Tested and verified accurate on many devices. The precision is matching with top rated apps and real SPL devices
- Frequency weighting filters: A, B, C, Z
- Beautiful, intuitive and carefully crafted UI design
- FFT and BAR graphs to display real time FFT. Those are very useful for frequency analysis and musical tests. Real time predominant frequency is also displayed.
- WAVE graph in real time

OTHER GREAT FEATURES:

- Time weightings (Response Time): SLOW (500 milliseconds) and FAST (200 milliseconds)
- Trimming calibration from -20 dB to 20 dB
- Standard measurement range from 30 to 130 dB(A)
- HISTO graph for plotted history of the recorded values
- Real time scale level chart
- Display Current, Average/Leq, and Max values with both nice and clear digital and analog layout
- Quick reference text to help you compare with real-life examples
- Record and export the data (up to 24 hours) to email for further analysis
- "Keep Device Stay Awake" option for long duration recording
- Reset and clear all data at any time
- Tap on Max value to reset at any time
- Pause/Resume the tool at any time

NOTES:

- Please do not expect a quiet room reading will be 0 dB(A). The range 30-130 dB(A) is the standard usable range and an average quiet room will be about 30 dB(A).

- Because there are wide range of devices which have different microphone sensitivity, custom calibration is highly recommend before use. You will need a real external device or calibrated sound meter as a reference, then adjust the trimming calibration until the reading matches with the reference.

After updating the app won't start. Samsung S5, getting the message "Unfortunately, Decibel 10 has stopped. Paid for full version but ads are back and wanting extra to unlock filters. I will use 'Noise Meter' that is calibrated for Samsung S5. Uninstalling now

Are you kidding me I gotta pay more money after I upgrade too the full version too get rid of the ads no way I want a refund what a scam

Great app which i use in the construction industry and checked for accuracy against a hand held dB meter.

Nice interface

Lying slime, just paid $1 for "upgrading" and still seeing the ads before it finished booting up. Disgusting false advertising, even though it's only a dollar. Works semi accurately but varies by phone model and Mic type. Still disgusted by these people.

O70%
by O####:

Extremely disappointed. Saw my friend's version on iOS, which allows different weighting and shows spectrum of windowed measurement. Downloaded the Android version, noticed the immediate lack of extra features, but paid the $1 to upgrade, hopeful for more. Then saw no features were added with payment, ads still appear on startup, and the dB reading is obviously wrong, wildly underestimating the ambient noise levels.

R70%
by R####:

Still has ads upon launching after buying the "full" version, while the app specifically says upgrade to have no ads & export longer graphs. Unlike the iOS version which allows you to select a weighting, the Android version is locked into some mystery weighting (is it A, C, Z, or... ???), and these differences are not mentioned in the app's description. It was only a dollar, but there are surely other apps that do it better...

M70%
by M####:

Great waste of space. Daughter firced to use app for school. Only pkays adds. Does nothing.

C70%
by C####:

None of the features that ios has. Still have to see an ad after you buy the no ad version.... Nothing here a basic free app can't do.

B70%
by B####:

There is a huge difference in the decibel reading between android and iOS. Plus it reads a loud classroom as a quiet conversation . very inaccurate

M70%
by M####:

Let down... works far better on iPhone than Android; iPhone version far better can take pics etc android version is very basic and poor

D70%
by D####:

Pretty poor that the app still has ads even after paying for it!

Works well after upgrading to no ads version.

What a racket! I pay for the privilege of being harassed by ads! . The app even acknowledges that i paid for it already because the no ads button is not there but everytime I open the app i see ads

This app helps me when I need it i was looking for a app like this and it look me like a hour to find one and now I think I have got a epic one thank you for this

R70%
by R####:

I love it

A70%
by A####:

This decibel meeter only detects A Waves, not C Waves (C Wave is both the lower spectrum and higher spectrum of sound whereas A Wave is just the treble region). It's good for measuring sound in a talking environment, but not for actual music. If you are using subwoofers and want an accurate representation for decibel range, add about 10-15 extra decibels once you reach 75db. Pretty much, if you can feel the hairs on your legs shaking from the sub, you're running over 90db, which is dangerous

I yet to try it in my car on the system

S70%

Accurate enough but with lots of ads and the db limit in smartphone microphones is about 100 but this app wastes so much screen space with a 220 graph and makes it impossible to read the amount of dbs accurately.

C70%
by C####:

Graph range is too high. 0 to 120 dba would be better

V70%

Full screen adverts, are you kidding me!

Ads made this app worthless for me. I decided on different decibel meter app.

C70%
by C####:

It's a much-ok level for the accuracy of sound level meter. Best of all, simple design with profesional features! Love the graph data so much and also the analogue-digital-live display! + the pause to take readings of sound level at that particular time. Really like this app and will keep on using! Way to go SkyPaw! #BestofTheBest

C70%

Frustrating that one can not even finish one reading without having to see the ads. For the app itself it may be good, have no idea as I never get to finish a reading before ads covers it.
