I have to say, I just got one, and the app is awful. Keeps crashing on my LG G5 running marshmallow 6.0.1 I'm contemplating returning this device due to the poor app which is sad. I wanted to love this. Is anyone working on improving? Is there hope still?
Needs some serious updates. It lags, crashes whenever you turn wifi on or off, and when it plays the "forgot your mynt" sound, it plays at max volume, even through headphones.
Multiple times a day, especially when switching Wifi on and off, the app stops. Decent app when working but highly unstable.
This app is not stable, it always crashes and turns off bluetooth, also the app file is too big. The software upgrade doesn't work, it crashes on 6% of the download.
Very frustrating I cannot depend on it every time. Appears to autonomously decide when to work and when it does, often asks if I forgot an item that is within two feet of the phone. Crashes several time per day yet manages to pop up with "Have you forgotten (this) item?" May or may not ping the fob or vice-versa. Several times the app has pinged the fob at random with no action from me! Feels like I paid to be a beta tester!
App crashes anytime wifi is turned on or off. The device connects as a Bluetooth keyboard so it screws up the Samsung keyboard and prevents you from using swype input. If you disable it as an input device it shows no bt connection on device. The device itself is ok, but it's cell phone interface is so bad i will be returning it to amazon and trying something else. This was on an S7 edge.
This app is not like any other fake app. It is very use full in daily life. It's software is working well and fast without any hang.
I just love to use it.
Last Friday, a package was delivered to my house at 2pm by 4 pm that afternoon, I was in love with what was inside. It was my new MYNT tracker. Imagine the sleekest hardware product and the smoothest Android app to go with it. This is precisely what MYNT promises and delivers. The functionalities are off the chart with great anti-loss and phone finder capabilities as well as other cool utilities. I couldn't say enough good things about it.
I was introduced to MYNT when I saw one of those bad boys hanging from my neighbor’s keychain. To be honest, I was very impressed with device’s multi functionality and cool Android app. Since then, I’ve purchased not one, not two but 5 MYNTs and I could not be happier with each one of them. They are just fantastic to make sure I don’t misplace or leave behind different types of items.
A device that goes beyond the duties of a simple tracker Last month I was in the market for a tracker device for my keys and I came across a review of MYNT. I was sold on the device’s sleek design but once I started using it, the MYNT tracker proved itself to be a daily necessity. The device goes far beyond what a tracker is supposed to do with a user-friendly app on Android that allows you access other controls such as your phone’s speaker system and camera. This tracker is nothing short of a smart companion.
Used it for a presentation at work and my boss was really impressed When I purchased a MYNT tracker a couple of months ago, I got more than I bargained for. I wanted a simple tracker for my purse but in the device, I also got a wireless remote controller and shutter. Just yesterday I used the device to control a PowerPoint presentation at work and my boss could not have been more impressed. Thumbs up Slightech!
It used to happen all the time. As I drove to work after hauling the kids to school, I would remember things I forgot at home. Sometimes it would be my phone and other times it would be my laptop charger. But since I got MYNT trackers for the things that I can’t afford to leave behind everyday, the devices have been a lifesaver. It also helps a lot that the software application for it on Android is so beautiful and easy to navigate.
Guys, I'm getting a lot of notifications, kinda annoying. And the battery life is down 10% in less than a week?? Come on man, there's gotta be a better way. Can you make it USB rechargeable? Get some staff on that STAT
Key fob is on my belt, yet app randomly rings that Keys are not around. Nice idea, bad bad execution. Don't waste your money.
In advert real time distance is offered. In my case I see the distance vary even with no mechanical change of both devices. Distance is not in feet or meters. Difficult to find lost items as is not possible to find the right direction. Not possible to power off the tracker. Not possible to set a distance as maximum guarded wall before alarm will go off.
It crashes multiple times a day. Sometimes when I'm away from the tracker and come back it doesn't show up and I have to pair it again.
New version seems to crash every time I change connection, from none to wifi or wifi to cell and vice versa. App is basically useless as my device switches radios on and off when screen changes, so when the app crashes I lose tracking :-/
Where it comes to the perks of MYNT as a tracking device, perhaps its best feature is how the MYNT app on Android works seamlessly with the hardware product to offer effective solutions to many problems. The tracking capabilities for sure are off the chart but the device also has functionalities as a remote controller and can be the best everyday companion. It's perfect.
When I moved out of my parents’ home a couple of weeks ago, mum knew how forgetful I can be and got me MYNT trackers for my most important possessions including my purse, new house keys and laptop charger. These devices relieve so much unnecessary stress and I could not be happier with them.
Whether youre always losing your purse or your furry pal, The Mynt tracker And its seamless Android app works to offer effective solutions For users, personally use My device For a number Of things from locating my car in a crowded parking lot to making sure my kids dont stray past a preset perimeter when we are at the local park. The MYNT app on android is also fantastic. Beautifully designed and easy to navigate, The interface is very humanistic
Keeps crashing on my s7. S7 warned me that this causes battery issues
This thing crashes 2-3 time per day. Galaxy note 5. . Bought 5 and will be returning them.
Please fix Text Input auto use for the Bluetooth connection. It constantly screws with the predictive keyboard and have to constantly turn the Text Input use setting off.
Crashes all the time
A good samrt tracker i love it super
It is good app which is so helpful
Does what it's supposed to do, but as others have mentioned it does connect as a keyboard and disables predictive and swipe text. The connection also goes in and out throughout the day and causes other bluetooth devices to do the same i.e. smartwatch. About 5 times a day it tells me it's connected and tries to connect as a trusted device to unlock the phone, watch will also connect and disconnect throughout. Great idea and product, just needs a major software overhaul.
Frequently disconnects even when in your pocket. Alerts with false alarms. Interrupts keyboard in middle of typing which is really annoying. Nice Hardware though and I like ability to change batteries. I would hold off until software issues addressed.
Seriously harms the battery life. The separation alarm goes off frequently, even if I'm in a "safe zone" and my keys are only 2 feet away. Latest version just crashes.
overall works well. has issues on android 6.0.1 nexus 6p. camera doesn't work and crashes the app. has problem seeing devices unless battery optimization is turned off for the app. had to search android for the setting. would like to see the db for each device to get more accurate finding information. quicker disconnection alerts. would also like to see the app run more like a service. it's currently too easy to close it and not get alerts.
Wanted to like this product/app, but it won't detect the 2 trackers I own, even if they are right next to the phone, except for rare occurrences. Tried to email tech support but no response. Should have gone with Tile instead.
I ordered the mynt tracker in high hopes, only for the app to not run whatsoever. I'm sending it back.
Overall a nicely engineered product. Looks good. Functionality good. Works most of the time. Setup not too hard. As mentioned by others it disables keyboard functions on some android phones. You can't swipe or get predictive text. The work around is to download a keyboard app like swype or swiftkey and set that as your default. This should not be necessary and if it is the developers should include this in product info.
The app functions basically well, but the interface could be better and more user friendly. The tracker randomly identifies as a keyboard and disables my predictive text and swipe texting features. It also loses connection often even when its in my pocket so its sometimes disruptive wth so many false alarms. The update info and some windows on the app (non impeding) are in chinese... Overall its the cheapest tracker out there and it works fairly well. Not 100% reliable but a good reminder for your belonging
The device disconnects very easily, just by leaving the room. If you're typing, your keyboard will back out of whatever your doing with the error "keyboard disconnected". Annoying, but it's mostly bluetooth being a pain. Would love this thing to use anything but a device keyboard for its system. I guess its just the way it has to be. Set your home wifi as a "safe zone" so it doesn't alarm all the time and its less annoying. Kinda defeats the purpose in a way. Still like the device. It's found my keys.
I used to like this app and my little mynt thing that sits on my keys but once I install Marshmallow Android 6.0 all it does is keep saying "Bluetooth keyboard connected" and every time it does it it shuts down my on-screen keyboard it is a royal pain
When you have a phone alarm setup for when your MYNT goes out of range it turns the media volume all the way up and plays the alarm. Not only does this completely blast any headphone user with sound but it also makes the dongle useless to anyone who has set their phone down with headphones plugged in as the tone only comes out of earbuds and not the phone. Another point is they are spamming the play store eith 5 star reviews, so heads up.
Device is too quiet. I need to be able to hear it when lost over all the background noise.
Keyboard issues like everyone else
