by A####:

Only had 1news article. No way to find others.

by Z####:

Old app was just fine. However, the SL Tribune felt need to create this new garbage of an app. I guess winning a Pulitzer has nothing to do with app design. Now you cannot select which stories you want to read. You have to scroll through every story. Also let's not forget to mention news stories from months, even years ago popping up. Salt Tribune, this app sucks! Fix it or bring back the old one. Or stick to releasing printed news.

by W####:

This "update" absolutely sucks.

by D####:

This app is lousy.

by V####:

New app sucks. Thanks for disabling the old one that worked fine.

by U####:

Very wonky, pulling articles from 2013.

by I####:

I like the look and feel. It's similar to the Washington Post, one of my favorite news sites. It's obviously a work in process so I recommend patience while the Trib develops.

by T####:

You call this piece of trash improved? Bring back the old app.

by L####:

New app is terrible. Difficult to navigate. Can't see comments. I hate it.

by S####:

Beautiful! Striking! What a great app look at and to use. This is what mobile is for. I'm glad that other one bit the dust.

by G####:

I am really only interested in Utah news from the Trib and there is no way to filter that. And shouldn't temple openings be under religion rather than news?

by Q####:

I assume this isn't the finished product. I get my sports from this app and there's only three total articles period. Highly disappointed.

by B####:

Much faster and smoother than the previous app, but lacks some functionality. Please add more categories (as previous) for better browsing. Especially with the one-at-a-time scroll this is annoying.

by M####:

To cumbersome. So hard to see what articles are there to read. Need to just show headlines so I can quickly decide what to read. The Deseret news app is miles ahead of this app.

by P####:

I don't want to have to swipe through every article to find something of interest. The old app had a list I could scroll through. So much more efficient. I hate the new online version too. I don't hate change. I hate lousy change.

by X####:

The reason I installed this app was because the old one would not load anything other than obituaries. The new app's description said it's essentially a completely new program. Yes, it is a completely new, it crashes and I can't even read obituaries. This program is an embarrassment for a newspaper that touts its Pulitzer Prize in the program's description.

by O####:

Old app no longer functions. New app is cumbersone, unintuitive, and dysfunctional. I will delete app after I finish my comments. I think this app is linked to the Washington Post, whose archives I keep getting sent to. I've been a past subscriber to the sltrib for over 30 years until my home delivery became intermittent delivery. And then 7 days to 3. So I used the old app, not great, but usable. The new app is terrible. I'm replacing this app with the Reuters app. Sorry Sltrib...once again you have failed me.

by K####:

8/7/17 I don't love the new format but I think I could get used to it. This app is better at bragging about the Pulitzer they won than giving actual news. One problem is that some of the stories are so old. I just read an article about a poll conducted on gay marriage that was at least a year old, why is this still a headline? It mentioned "presidential hopeful Rick Santorum". No date was attached to the story so I have no way of knowing when it came out.

by H####:

Terrible app...

by N####:

Pathetic layout and news coverage

by E####:

Tribune took a huge step in the wrong direction. And that's a big understatement.

by C####:

This app is total garbage. Even worse than the old one. No comments, no sorting Utah from reposted national stuff. Why is this so hard for you, SLT???

by F####:

This appears to be a rough draft of an app. It looks nice, and might have some improved functionality over the old Tribune app, but it's a little awkward to use. The news is days old, and the link to comments doesn't work. I'll stick with viewing the trib in a browser, and check on this app again after a few updates. Right now it's terrible.

by Y####:

A pointless app that has either no news or news days old. Improve it and add a reasonable pay wall after 10 articles per month.

by J####:

The Salt Lake Tribune has perhaps the worst news app I've ever experienced. About on par for the paper--poor functionality and design. As well, news reporting is negative and biased. It's just as well, I am deleting app and adding KSL's.

by R####:

I'm so disappointed with the Tribune's new app! Today, when I opened it, I saw a picture of a woman with pink hair, but no headline! I had to tap the picture to get the headline. And that was the only "news" story! After that there were 3 sports stories, 2 opinion pieces, 4 stories on religion, and 6 stories on arts and living. Most days, there are more sports stories than news. And the settings section is a joke! No way to prioritize the sections I want to see. The old app was so much better!
