For all those who are giving it 1 stars due to the alerts it didn't generate on Oct28th,I will be looking at the code and moving this app to a new server.So that it would work fine at any time.(It didn't generate alerts because its gets the feed from PTWC and not ATWC which is the one that sends alerts for US West Coast)

This is only for Asian countries in Pacific,Australia and NewZealand!!!
Note 1: If you don't get Tsunami alerts it's more due to your network providers data connection
Note 2: There is no way this app would report false reports.It also reports information bulletins/watch messages(level3/level4 messages) which are not of that much significance.Always look out for level1/level2 messages!
Note 3:If you have battery saving apps like Juice defender this might not work as it constantly pings the server (You need to allow this app in Juice defender settings to allow internet acess)
Pacific Ocean is otherwise known as Ring of Fire as nearly 90% of the world's earthquakes and 80% of the world's largest earthquakes occur along the cost of Pacific Ocean..Some of them are large enough like the one at Japan in March 2011 and they may cause destructive Tsunami's which may kill thousands of people along the Pacific coast.A Tsunami alert on your phone may help you to get informed before the disaster strikes..
Each Tsunami alert would be accompanied by a siren sound and generally it would last for few seconds depending upon the category of alert.For highest alert,it would last for 15 seconds(7 seconds during daytime) and for other information bulletins the siren would last for 2 seconds.
Take your own decision based upon the location of Tsunami and how far it's from your place.
People living in California,Oregon,Washington,British Colombia (Canada & United States) may have to rely to WCATC warnings apart from this...

There is no magnitude of the earthquake, location of the earthquake, date of the earthquake, etc. Map for the earthquake is erroneous (the earthquake took place in ecuador but your app shows antartica).

Not reliable. Red indicator pin point the wrong area. Second tsunami warning warning issued once again red indicator in wrong area of earthquake now decided to un install.

Uninstalled. Yes, later I saw it does say not for Hawaii once you scroll down and read the fine print, but then don't call it "Pacific Ocean Tsunami Alerter". Hawaii is right smack in the MIDDLE of the Pacific Ocean. There is no place that is more "Pacific Ocean" than Hawaii. Wish I could give it negative stars as this misleading name could cost human life someday.

If you want to have permanent hearing damage caused by listening to soft music on your headsets, when the Tsunami Alerter blasts your eardrums with its Siren on maximum volume, then you have found the perfect app. No options to change the settings. Ridiculous.

I live in California right on the coast and did not receive and alerts regarding the Tsunami warnings for Hawaii or Tsunami advisories for Washington, Oregon and California after the Canadian island 7.7 earthquake. My phone service is great here and in the past I have gotten other alerts.

Just got an alert for an earthquake off of the coast of Japan. Location on map shows it off the coast of of Greenland. No entry in the Details section. This app has not worked correctly in over a year.

Works really well on new phone but would be good to have a silence / snooze feature. Went off 6 times in middle of night after Solomon Islands quake! Eventually realized it was genuine. Btw I live in NZ!

Did not report a 7.7 quake in Alaska that generated a tsunami...not worth keeping the app please fix this and make it work with ALL networks...this could be a lifesaver if it worked...try hooking up to a RSS feed

No option to prevent alarm from sounding, even whales if your phone is in vibrate or silent mode... Good luck explaining that interruption in an important meeting, or to your wife at 2 in the morning as I had to do!!

Tsunami alert after 8 earthquake in Solomon's. New Zealand is on watch list. This app says there is no current alerts in the pacific. Tsunami was generated. Tried uninstalling and installing. Restarting my phone. No change. This app has only worked when there were a few shakes near Ecuador couple of years ago. I have no faith. Pay 1.53 and get tsunami alert. Least it works.

Sorry, but after last night's tsunami warning that your app DID NOT register, I am uninstalling it. Obviously something is severly broken here. Your app has NEVER reported any tsunami alerts on my RAZR MAXX ever. Please fix! WEATHER BUG gives excellent notifications...I paid for that, and would pay for your app if it worked.

What good is an alert program regardless of whom it originates from if it does not alert one. Not to mention that they do not give the user the option of changing the tone, silencing the tone or putting it on vibrate. In my opinion for what's it's worth this program is useless.

Wish I could give negative stars. Sitting here on a ridge in Hawaii waiting out a severe tsunami warning that this app. didn' t report at all. It's given me notice of inconsequential events in the Pacific Rim but in the first real emergency we've had since getting the app., the app. failed miserably. Been almost three hours since the first sirens went off and the app. still says there are no warnings in effect for the Pacific.
