Star Wars App-Enabled Droids by Sphero

Stuck on Loading screen since I downloaded app days ago. Downloaded new update today and its still stuck on Loading screen. I'm on a Note8. Never had a problem using my old S6.

1.2 was getting stuck on loading screen then started working randomly-on 9/15/17. This was not the app I was looking for, to control my imperial droid. I expected better from you. * raises fingers in threatening manner.*

Still does not connect to r2d2 and bb9e for Samsung Note 4. I believe it is a hardware or firmware compatibility issue though and doubt any android app update will resolve it.

Do I need the new bb-8 droid or can I use the first one that came out

R2-D2 works fine but looses connection some times randomly and BB-8 doesn't work at all for the OnePlus 5. Emailed Sphero and they said a fix is being worked on but there's no time on when it will be fixed. Disappointing considering my OP3 worked fine.

I've been having the same problem most people have had with their R2 unit, and it's pretty annoying. The app will recognize the droid but fails to establish a connection. Guess these have bad motivators. If I can't get this resolved, I'm going to have to get my money back.

It's a nice app but right now it doesn't quite replace the original BB-8 app. It lacks the voice commands and hologram messages, but it does have the new AR feature. I think it's meant for controlling multiple droids mainly.

Downloaded the app to my Samsung 5. It won't load. I have a BB8 and old app worked great. I now have an R2D2 but new app is useless. It stays in loading loop and never completes. Finally loaded but it will not connect. Same issue that most others are having. Very annoying. Might have to get refund on this R2D2.

Pretty good app, but the driving virtual sticks needs to be reversed. It doesn't work the way I expected it to, pushing forward makes my R2 go backwards instead, very weird.

I have yet to find a way to keep my R2-D2 awake with my phone screen off, due to Doze, etc. It would be great if the droid had a "desk toy" mode where it could hang out and do the occasional animation/sound without a persistent Bluetooth connection.

Got the BB-9E and although it's a cool droid, I keep getting disconnected on my OnePlus5. It'll try to connect and at times it works or I'll have to close the app and reopen it. Hoping there's a fix, otherwise I may return my BB-9E.

So for everyone who is having connection issues, if you disconnect from your BB-9E or R2-D2, turn off Bluetooth and then turn it back on again. Then open the app. What's happening to me personally is that BB-9E stays connected even after I fully close out of the app, even though it looks and seems as though he's not. I'm assuming the same is happening with R2. BB-9E is incredibly cute but his head falls off very easily, I think this is due to the extra weight added to the head by the LED lights which receive power by induction. Furthermore the blue aiming light takes a few seconds to turn on when I click the aim button, this seems like a software issue. The temperature indicator on BB-9E does not work in roaming mode, its just a blurry triangle, and I do really miss the BB-8's exploration mode in which it maps out the room. With BB-9E it seems a little more mindless and random, there's no learning. Finally, I can set a speed limit in the app settings but in roaming mode this doesn't apply, leading to the head falling off whenever BB-9E drives anywhere around the room. Sphero, if you were to fix the software problems I addressed in this review it would be seriously helpful for many people who own these amazing machines. Aside from these issues I applaud you on this incredible product and amazing desk buddy. I hope this has also helped to inform people looking to buy BB-9E, as well as those who own it but are having the same issues I am.

Problem with movies? Gets stuck loading the movie you want to watch with it. This is on my bb-9e unit

Still no support for OnePlus 3t, the old app can't connect,now this still can't connect! Do something about it!

I can find BB-8 but it won't connect to my Samsung galaxy s6edge

When I go to the Watch with me or the AR feature, on My Samsung Galaxy Tab A, it says "your device does not meet the minimum requirements to use this feature" but if I tap "Confirm" I can use the feature. """_( '_' )_/"""

I think this app works or at least for me R2-D2 I think it's cool there's nothing bad about the app
