About SplashID Safe Password Manager

SplashID is the world's most trusted password storage system. For over 12 years, over one million users have kept their passwords safe with SplashID - and now it gets even better with an all-new version.

Think of SplashID as your personal vault or digital wallet on Android. You can store and lock sensitive information - not just usernames and passwords but credit card data, account numbers, registration codes, prescriptions, and much more.

Keeping your usernames, passwords, and bank account numbers in your head, on a Word or Excel file, or written on a piece of paper is unsafe. Passwords can be forgotten; laptops can be lost. With SplashID, your data is easily and quickly accessible, reliably stored, and - most importantly - secure.

Only SplashID offers:

- Access: Free, native, secure apps for mobile, desktop, web, and browser
- Choice of sync and storage: You decide how to store and sync your records with convenient cloud sync, local network Wi-Fi sync, or on-device storage
- Customizable record types and categories keep information organized
- Photo capture feature quickly and easily stores credit card information
- File attachments: upload photos, documents, and add notes to any record for reference
- Protection features include 256-bit encryption and 2-factor authentication
- Secure sharing: Safely share records with other SplashID users or even those who don’t use SplashID
- Automatic SplashID Backup service to ensure data never gets lost
- Security dashboard provides usage statistics and tools to monitor and fix weak, reused, and old passwords
- Web autofill saves typing in usernames, passwords, and delivers the correct address from the secure data vault every time to prevent phishing
- Refer a friend to SplashID and you both receive a 25% discount on a SplashID Pro subscription

Lock your personal information up in a state-of-the-art data saver and feel comfortable knowing that at any time you can access private information safely.

No other password app delivers SplashID's combination of features, reliability, and security. Compare SplashID to others: http://splashid.com/personal/compare.html

The app is free to use with basic record storage functionality. A one-year subscription to SplashID Pro gives you many additional features like sync across devices, Security Dashboard and Automated Backup for just $19.99. It's auto-renewed at the end of the year, or easily cancelled. Refer a friend to SplashID, and you both get a 25% discount on SplashID Pro!

Note: SplashID requests permission to access your contacts data on install solely for the purpose of allowing you access to your own contact list when using the share records tool. We do not collect any contacts data.

****** devs disabled local WiFi sync and now my previous purchase is invalid. Going to agile bits or enpass in the next few weeks. The entire series of changes in the last year has been only to frustrate users to buy their subscription services

K70%
by K####:

Well I bought this app a long time ago for two computers a iPhone and Android device. They went to a subscription system years later for certain features which I didn't want or need and my version (free) was still working. The recent update made it so I can't access any of my personal info unless I pay for a subscription. Support said they sent out emails about this change but "our email filters must have blocked them." The new version of the basic plan doesn't have wifi sync but before this last update it did. I don't recommend buying this app or anything from this company.

K70%
by K####:

Like the lastest posts, I am a long term user of this app....until today when I learnt that I now have to pay. I know companies are in the business of making money....but you do not do this at the expense of treating existing customers badly. My advise to those contemplating using this app is to think not only about the app but about how your business will be appreciated by the company. In the latter's regard, this company fails abysmally

I have used this software and other Splash software as far back as 2000 (on my palm device). I have used Splash ID probably for almost as long. I have purchased this software for desktop and both my iphone and iPad. I now use it on my Samsung. I used to be able to sync between my desktop and devices over my WIFI connection at home (this was included for free with the paid version of the software). Syncing over the internet required a subscription. Now, not only can i not Sync over my own WIFI connection, i can no longer access my password on any of my devices (except desktop) unless I subscribe. I can maybe accept not been able to sync anymore, but to prevent from using software I paid for is not acceptable. This software used to be a five star for me. After nearly two decades as a loyal customer (how many software company can say that), you have lost me PlashData. I am moving to another software company...

I tried to change the regular password into the digital and it would not let me. I tried deleting and reinstalling and that didn't work either. So having to use the initial password (which apparently it saved even though I deleted the app!) I entered a credit card. I took the picture, enter the information necessary but it kept asking me to add a description. What description are they looking for?? Please respond.

Like the last few reviewers I bought this (paid for it) a long time ago and now am held hostage to pay. Can't even see my data. NOT good!!!

K70%
by K####:

I've paid for upgrade, I've paid for renewal! Won't let me access, says i haven't paid, when i try to pay, says I've already paid. Can't access my passwords. Have written support 3 times and only have received automated reply

K70%

Once the wifi sync became a "pro" feature that requires me to pay for access to MY passwords, I decided to dump this marginal app. Had kept it for convenience but no more. You won't be missed.

I have been a loyal customer since the first color Palm Pilot came out back in 2001-2002. Today, the folks who make Splash ID are so desparate that they force me to see a purchase window everytime I load the software that I purchased a license on. The move to a subscription based software was a bad move and I am seriously considering migrating myself and family over to a new platform. If I want to stay on an older version, then I shouldn't be forced to see windows that encourage me to pay to play.

by K####:

Lost a long time customer with this last update. Forced me to pay the 1.99 monthly to be able to access my account just so I could look up my passwords which I used to be able to do for free and with wi-fi sync. Enjoy the 1.99. i moved on to safe in cloud. Look them up. They have a One time, inexpensive lifetime fee instead of this monthly and yearly BS...It is just as easy to use if not easier...and will sync your existing splash Id database once you pay splash to gain access to exporting your database file. How could you guys put out an update which makes your product unusable without warning... You know what, I don't care anymore good riddance.

C70%
by C####:

This is outright unethical! I paid for this app years ago, because it offered users the option of local sync and storage. I specifically stayed away from a cloud solution for this exact issue and now I opened this app only to find that the developer is holding the data, which is stored locally on my phone as hostage unless I pay a $19 per year subscription fee. This kind of practice is criminal.

Mad as hell! Stop demanding that I subscribe after I've already purchased your app, before there were even in app purchases. This is FRAUD! A complaint has been filed with the BBB: Thank you for using the Better Business Bureau's Online Complaint System. Your complaint has been assigned case # 524378. Filed against : SplashData 201 Los Gatos Saratoga Rd #210 Los Gatos CA 95030-5308

Without warning, they rolled an update that locked me out of my data. That's right, despite having paid for perpetual upgrades in the past, and after years of them trying a range of promos to force you into their cloud offering, they decided the next best thing was to hold your data hostage. Their CEO claims "others have gone to subscription models." That may be true. But at least the thing you paid for is still meant to be yours. Not with this vendor.

K70%
by K####:

I used this for years and now have switched to Dashlane instead. This app never seemed to synch properly the last 5 years or so. Sometimes it would synch, and sometimes it would not, for no detectable reason. Tech support is truly poor as well.

K70%
by K####:

Syncing did not work properly for many years as many other reviewers have noted. However since I've been using it for ages (since PalmPro version) and paid for multiple "lifetime" versions, i've been tolerating it. But the latest update that turned wifi sync into a "pro" feature was the last drop. No notifications on the web site, no warnings. Just a request to pay if I want to sync my data. Goodbye SplashId, hope your greediness will serve you well! Get Keepass instead.

K70%
by K####:

It was a good app in the Palm days, now it sucks. Every time you open it you get a nag screen to upgrade to pro for "only" €19,99 a year

K70%
by K####:

I had used this app for a while then all of a sudden they required a yearly fee and did not allow me to access my passwords until I paid. Will find another password app.

K70%
by K####:

I've used it for many years over desktop and mobile device. I am now locked out of my records because they want a monthly or yearly fee to use this app. Why not leave it alone and only those that want to upgrade pay the new pricing structure. I have to pay a months fee and move my information so I can then delete this app as soon as I migrate to a less shady app.

K70%
by K####:

Installed and crashes. Not having issues with other apps on this phone. Please help.

K70%
by K####:

Have had the app for years. Sold with free local wifi sync. Latest update wont sync without annual upgrade fee. This is not how app was originally sold. Borders on fraud.

K70%
by K####:

Wtf!!! I have been a loyal Splash ID customer for years, even purchased the original lifetime WiFi program. Now, all of a sudden I have to start paying a yearly subscription fee!!! Is this a glitch? Please tell me it is. I really don't want to have to find a new program and start all over again.

M70%
by M####:

Been using this for years. I bought the product not knowing years later I would be extorted more $ and locked out of my passwords unless I pay a $20 yearly fee. Awful business practices.

K70%
by K####:

I have been reluctant to use on Android due to many bad reviews, but tried it anyway. I opened a .jpg attached to a record, the file was saved at "/storage/emulated/0". This seems to be a very generic location that could be read by other apps, not good. When I closed the viewer, and locked SplashID, the file was still there, unacceptable! It should have been wiped and deleted. I suspect all viewed attachments will accumulate at that folder, very bad.

K70%
by K####:

How do they reward long time, happy users? They go to a subscription and don't honor previous purchases. And only respond with arrogance when questioned.

K70%

I've had SplashID for years on multiple devices & operating systems and it has always been my "go-to" app for password storage. Recently, I had a problem w/ my account - completely my fault - and each time I emailed customer service, I received a prompt reply from a very patient gentleman. I'd definitely recommend this app to others.

K70%
by K####:

Used to work but now crashes every day at least once. Also recently said that I had changed my password but I had not. Lucky I had a recent local backup or I would have lost all my passwords for good. Moving on to a different product.

K70%
by K####:

Was sold to pay for a one off payment to use the product a while ago but now kept on asking me for subscription. whats worse now is cant even see the old passwords without the pro version. Dont like the way this company handles existing customers

G70%
by G####:

I'm sure you've already read in the reviews that this app went from a trusted great tool to suddenly a 'hostage taker' of your passwords unless you pay up for the "pro" version that you don't need. I bought this app originally in 2012 and sync it locally on wifi back to my PC. I don't need their 'pro' cloud services etc. I create my own backups and store them up in my own cloud already. Pretty much FRAUD. My worry now is... even if I do pay them their $19.99/year... with how this company is behaving, as if it is cash-starved, what will they do next? raise it to $199.99/year and then $499.99/year? Guess what SplashID, you just convinced me... time to dump you and go with another product.

I bought this app and used it for years and loved it. I Told a lot of other people about it and now I wish I never did. After this last update I have to pay for membership to keep using The app or to even to see my passwords. This company doesn't care about original customers anymore. Beware if you are thinking of buying. You will be in my situation soon. I am going to move on to another password vault and find another company that appreciates long term customers. Take a look at other posts. I am not the only one.

After using the app now for a short week I have come to the conclusion that it is much more than it is advertising. Running into a lot of not knowing how, the help I got per mail was instant and professional. Not one mail but about 15 mails in a 2 day time span. All have been answered instantly. The best help I have had ever for any app.

I got this program several years ago. I started on the free version and held out till they offered the Pro version lifetime for a one time fee which was like $20. Bux. I LOVE this program never had any issue, I have the desktop version too so I can sync from device to desktop. Everyone should get it its FANTASTIC !!

K70%
by K####:

Was a great app till this last update where you decided to make it so I can't even view my passcodes unless I pay for the full version!! What the hell!! I understand cutting off some features but cutting it off entirely?! What a dog act! App has been reported to Google for my personal data being held at ransom unless I give you money.

Looks like I've lost ALL my information since doing the upgrade. Support is not responding to my concerns. Often requires logging in 3 or more times. Very annoying. 12-2016 Yet again they have locked me out of my data. This time I need to buy yet another lifetime subscription. These are a sketchy bunch. Beware before any purchases as they will get you again eventually Ransomware basically

Original Review - Had to buy desktop upgrade from the previous version. I used this for years with my Palm TX, awesome app. Had Desktop already, Very disappointed I had to buy an update version of Desktop. Now I have to subscribe to do a local wifi sync, this is now a scam/fraud!

SplashData must be desperate for new revenues. They held my passwords hostage until I upgraded to the new version even though I previously PAID for this App. I have been a user for many years but will now look for a new password manager.

The app itself is decent. However, when there are problems, tech support is not able to resolve issues and takes weeks not doing so! I contacted tech support regarding three separate issues over the course of two years. None of the aforementioned were ever resolved. Buyer beware!

Since got new phone with Android 6.01 app will not start successfully. Have now heard this is an issue with the phone, ZTE Axon, and may take weeks to resolve. Had same issue more and more frequently even on old Samsung S4. Unhappy user of many many years.

I have used this app for many years since the Palm OS days. In recent years, I have used it on Android phones, iPhones, and on my Windows desktop. The recent update has made it so that I cannot access my passwords at all on my phone without paying. The frustrating part is that I paid for the application years ago. It appears that SplashData switched to a subscription model, but there was no advanced warning that the app that I have used for years would suddenly become unusable without a subscription. I will be switching to a different company, as I don't appreciate having my important data suddenly held for ransom.

Originally PURCHASED this app AND desktop service separately back in 2009 for my iPhone 3gs. Upgraded to an Android in 2013 and rePURCHASED. Have used the app and desktop sync for YEARS with no issue and was told when I originally purchased the $20 desktop app that it would sync for life. Now I am being told that I have to pay a yearly fee in order to locally sync my data??? When you tell me it is for life, that's what that means. Reporting to google as FRAUD! Switching to Enpass & will gladly PAY them!

Update (Dec 15 th) - changed my email address on file which somehow fixed my issue. Program is working again and data is restored. (Dec 6th ) Something happened with the last update. Lost data, can't sync., crashes repeatedly. Have used for 3 yrs, now looking for a different app.
