About Advanced RAID Calculator
Using the Advanced RAID Calculator you can see the exact amount that your array will have using any size of Hard Disk.
ARC Supports the following RAID Levels:
0, 1, 3, 3+0, 4, 5, 6, 0+1, 1+0, 1+0+0, 5+0, 5+1, 6+0, 6+1, BeyondRAID, unRAID, X-RAID, RAID-Z, RAID-Z2, RAID-Z3, RAID DP, SHR, SHR-2.
The app also provides an IOPS calculator to find the type of disk required to achieve the IOPS in the backend as well as a power requirement calculator to help in selecting the appropriate PSU for your setup.
It currently has an extensive database of HDD's but you can also add 1 custom disk with your own specs.

Smart try, but it fails on calculate raid parity. For example in raid5 with every 8 disks in a raid one is used for parity. In a 10 disk configuration it will be 2 disk for parity, in 18 disks conf the parity will be from 3 disks and so on. The app consider only one disk for parity in all the above example.

Needs updated for VNX/VNX2 OS rather than older Clarion models. Custom disk option is a good feature.

Although I have only one machine currently capable of RAID structure, I've worked over 30yrs. in computers and this is one of THE BEST Well Thought Apps I've seen and used. Most of the other apps like this one are a JOKE ! ! and a waste of time. This is THE APP ! ! !
