What are users saying about MBNA Thames Clippers Tickets

R70%
by R####:

Currently there are two Blackfriars piers in the 'Live Departures' menu. One with a full stop and one without. Neither of these show all of the available services. Please can this be fixed? The same issue also affects Embankment Pier in live departures.

R70%
by R####:

- It requires 3 clicks to show active ticket and that is the most frequent op - No way to pay without saving card details - No way to delete card details - Live departure is obscured

R70%
by R####:

Would have been more stars, but the app can't tell the difference between being updated and being installed on a new device which is really annoying

Y70%
by Y####:

The UI is a bit all over the place but the app works great and is very useful if you get the clippers a lot

F70%
by F####:

The travel tools section is invaluable. Really great to have easy access to timetables and maps!

T70%
by T####:

Ok as a place to store an eTicket. But time is wrong by a few hours when ticket is activated. Live arrivals do not match times displayed at piers. And why no mobile version of schedules? If users want a desktop version of the PDF schedule they can already get this from the website. Not much of a travel tool.

N70%
by N####:

Still doesn't support discount codes like the online web site does. ...6 months later...Still doesn't support discount codes like the online web site does. This is now becoming a problem and will probably force me to abandon the daily clipper.

B70%
by B####:

Barely better than using seaweed

B70%
by B####:

The home screen was a bit off, but the developers fixed the issue promptly. Much better that waiting in line for a ticket.

U70%
by U####:

It's really a good idea to have a M-ticket is You get to board the boat quicker, saves time, It's cashless paying, you won't lose your paper ticket that you are buying from the ticket office or from the ticket machine and you can purchase your ticket at anytime when you want.

N70%
by N####:

Great app. Can now leave the office at exactly the right time to catch my boat. Important in the winter when it's cold, and in the summer when boat times are random due to the volume of tourists. But it needs to be renamed Thames Clippers, instead of Thames Tickets, as it does more than just tickets. You need to promote this on board, I only found out by chance talking to one of your tech savvy crew.

D70%
by D####:

Supposed live updates seem random. The boat is 20 mins away. Then it disappears off the list. Then 5 mins later it's 3 mins away. No use to man nor fish.

Reducing another star. Was logged off again. Twice in a day :-/ The latest version is really unstable. I have now logged on at least four times. Quite frustrating as I realised I have been logged off just when I was about to show my ticket before boarding. I had to request them to let me get on as this app wasn't behaving. Shall I go back to paper and uninstall this non dependable app??!!

U70%

The card expiry drop downs are broken as others have said. I've finally got the month right, now working on more random touching in the hope of getting the right year. WTF is going on here?

U70%
by U####:

Can't set card expiry date on payment page, so can't buy any tickets.

U70%

Cant change the year on card payment screen

Little slow to update for latest android but otherwise a great app.

Y70%
by Y####:

The app doesn't offer the full range of tickets you would want: senior discount, kids fares or the Oystercard discount. Don't bother.

O70%
by O####:

Rushed to a pier only to find out that the time in the app was wrong and the next boat is in 40 minutes. Very annoyed!

U70%
by U####:

This does not have a map

Q70%
by Q####:

Wants inappropriate access to files and media. All I want to do is buy a river bus ticket. Why queue? Just buy onboard with Oyster or card.

Q70%
by Q####:

Can't but a ticket any more, crashes on the payment page. Update: Last couple of tickets have now worked, so back to being the App to use for Clipper travel... Until the Oyster card comes into affect later this month.

S70%
by S####:

Encountered same issue reported by other reviewers. Says my email address is invalid. August 2015 update - problem still unresolved. Emailed following and my post here but email wasn't responded to.

C70%
by C####:

I've managed to buy one ticket ever. It refuses to log in, nondescript error. Maybe a wrong password? Try reset and it refuses to do this too, all you get is a "something went wrong" error message.

T70%
by T####:

Dear dear. The main reason I got the app was because the online timetable is unreadable on a phone. But the app only shows the next departures or gives you access to the unreadable timetable! The app doesn't tell you but unless you put a capital in your password it rejects it as too weak. It doesn't seem to give the oyster card discount just a travelcard one. To add insult to injury it then hangs.

P70%

Want the skip the queue at embankment? Download this crappy app and save yourself 15 mins

Little slow to update for latest android but otherwise a great app.

J70%

I've uninstalled and reinstalled it to try to stop the problems, but it hasn't helped. I'm trying to buy a season ticket, which I've done successfully before, but it crashes every time I get to the payment page. Also, as others have reported, sometimes the back button stops working, and you have to force the app to quit and restart it. When it does work, it's very convenient, but the problems are too serious to rely on it.

Q70%
by Q####:

I've just loaded the app and the back navigation doesn't return to the home page. As this is pretty fundamental it doesn't inspire confidence in anything more complex. Update: 2* from 1*. Navigation and UI is total rubbish. eTickets work.

K70%
by K####:

Used to be good until the last update. Now when I view timetables the back button doesn't work. Half the time it refuses to process my payments. I'll just buy my ticket from the staff instead.

Allowed me to purchase a return ticket to Putney while there was no Putney service (bank holiday) Lost 60p. Devs, please fix it. Other than that, great app. Thanks.

Can't even sign up. Says my email is invalid.

After spending 20 mins in queue at Embankment ( why take sooo long to sell ticket to each customer!??) staff member handed out card saying to use App. Several moved out of queue to try it. But doesn't sell Daily Rover Ticket or Discounted Tickets!! Staff member looked puzzled, told us to go back to queue. Got ticket another 20 mins later!!! Rubbish setup.

K70%
by K####:

Finally got this app as it now does discounted tickets but it wouldn't even let me sign up. Every password I input was "too weak", however complex the password, in fact it told me that after inputting only one character. Please get it sorted!

N70%
by N####:

Would not let me sign up apparently my email address is invalid? Basic error.

C70%
by C####:

Considering the majority of customers using this app would be Londoners, and considering the majority of Londoners have Oyster cards; it seems ridiculous that there is no way of linking your Oyster to the app to get the discount!
