Dimmer lets you reduce your screen brightness below the level that Android allows. It's very helpful to avoid eye strain when using the phone in the night.
The app has a minimalist interface to keep things sweet and simple. The background service has negligible battery and memory consumption and runs only when it is turned ON.
It works by creating an always-on-top translucent overlay, when ON. It does not mess around with your phone's brightness settings in any way.

Note : For some users, the widget stops responding after some time. This is because of a weird behaviour of widgets in the Android OS. Just use the button in the app once if this happens. It will refresh the widget and make it work.

Note to others: it's on a timer y'all! Just make sure you set it to 30 minutes. I'm always asleep before the app shuts off, and it doesn't have to keep working while you sleep like I read for another app...what a battery drain!

This app doesn't require any permissions, it doesn't drain your battery, and it doesn't take up too much space. The app also dims your screen, whether you're on or off the Web. No worries about making the transition here. Five stars.

Widget not working properly.. After 5 -10mins it stops working n this is app is intalled in phone storage.. Plzzz fix this because i have to go to the app to dim the light..

Does exactly what it says and nothing else. No Ads, no inconsistent behaviour, no crashes. Built like a tank. The timer is useful.

many similar apps. I love the simplicity and would give 5 stars if the auto time out went to 6 hours. Nothing worse than it switching off too soon. 60 minutes is not enough and never going off isn't quite right.
