About Birding App
Birding App is the birdwatchers search engine which has over 10.000 species included, with information about the birds and off course the sound and images of the birds. A wishlist / checklist functionality has recently been added.
The bird images can be zoomed so as a birdwatcher it can be used for identification of the birds.
All the information in this app is based on the Avibase world bird database (avibase.bsc-eoc.org).
Birding app is also a multilingual app so you will search for birds in your language, and the information provided about the birds is also in your own language.
App highlights:
- Info about allmost all the bird species in the world
- 16.000+ images (all under a common creative license)
- 10.000+ birds with a sound sample attached
- Search by Latin bird name or the name in your own language
- Birds in the search result will be shown sorted by rarity in your own country, most common on top
- The country to focus on in the search result will be detected but can also be manually set
- Habitat map present for about 200 well known birds
- Wiki information for 7000+ species
- A wishlist / checklist is added to keep up with what species you have on your wishlist, with the ability to check the ones you have seen

Needing to know the name of the bird to do ANYTHING entirely defeats the purpose. You can't even browse the birds without typing in a name.

Photos inaccurate, eg Song Thrush pics....4 pics, 2 are song thrush one is a dunnock and the other a mistle thrush. Under the mistle thrush entry, they have 4 pics of a redwing! Back to the drawing board!

Very good app for searching thej world's bird species. Especially now with the last update to show local birds at the top of the list.

I tried this app in Italian (my mother tongue). It's wonderful! A lot of results, with subspecies which I never heard about. The possibility to reproduce the call of the birds, and watch their photos, is must for a birdwatcher. Sometime the search is a little too slow, but apart that, I really like this app.

Pretty good, UI could be prettier but the functionality is great. For free this is unbeatable.
