What are users saying about Notification History [4.3+]

I was all up and down the internet trying to find out how to get to my notification log. All the tips and articles were the same way: By using the settings widget. Well I don't have that on my phone. Everything else was a third party notification logger. Well that doesn't help me right now because I'm trying to see a notification from before I needed the app. Pointless. This did exactly what I needed and what was missing from my phone with no other way to get it.

Y70%
by Y####:

Wonderful app. My S7 doesn't have the settings widget, this is a perfect replacement. The app itself can't see your notifications - it just opens Android's hidden notification history menu. Also, to view what the notifications say (at least on nougat) you just tap the history item and read the value called "android.text"

Z70%
by Z####:

Does what it says. Lacks ability to perform original actions defined by the notifications, only to view the history (clicking items leads you to the app details instead of opening the app), but this is not due to the app itself. AOSP comes in this way. Need to switch to other more powerful apps.

Y70%
by Y####:

Simple & easy. It just works. Gives you the low-level detail about all recent notifications, which I can't do natively on my phone because LG removed that functionality (Why, LG, why??)

W70%
by W####:

Works perfectly. I first used it (after trying another recommended one unsuccessfully) to track down a notification that I'd dismissed in irritation from an app supposedly called "Within", which I didn't have installed. I decided I wanted to find out where it came from and none of the methods for getting previous notifications worked on a Galaxy S7. Identified it straight away with this excellent little app. (Turned out to be an app from "shakingearthdigital" - no idea what it actually was but I was able to uninstall it after accessing via Notification History).

Y70%
by Y####:

HTC Desire 820 Android 6: Works on my device. Doesn't require ANY permissions. Does what it says: displays all notifications since the phone got turned on. You can also click on a notification to get to its entry in the apps menu (the disable /uninstall/ clear cache menu)

Y70%
by Y####:

Just shows the apps that fired the alert, there is no way to see what the alert message was. Good for figurine gout what app is spamming you with notifications, but useless if you want to read the content of the notification that you lost.

I70%
by I####:

Didnt work. Crashed on startup. Seems it worked well for some people before 5 came out. Cant really give it any stars since i dont know.

N70%
by N####:

Great! Tells me what is going on when l'm not watching my phone. What I've missed for too many years! Even tells me what time it happened. Try it!

Y70%
by Y####:

You helped me recover a message from a girl I was messaging on a dating app. She deleted her account after sending me her number and the notification containing it disappeared after i clicked it (the message didnt show up either), so THANK YOU! This feels like kismet haha

Y70%
by Y####:

Despite this app saying it worked with my device (galaxy s4 running lollipop), upon running it, it pops up an error message saying either my device manufacturer didn't allow for "it" or my account didn't allow it; either seems implausible.

Y70%
by Y####:

It shows me which apps sent notifications, but in most cases does not show you what the notification said. When I get a storm warning late at night, I want to silence the sound and then read it, but silencing it makes it disappear. I was hoping this would let me read the notification after the fact but all it shows me is that the app sent a notification.

Y70%
by Y####:

Got the "Unfortunately, Settings have stopped" popup everytime I run this app.

B70%
by B####:

It only tells you which app notified and what time but not WHAT it said! Worst than useless, it's plain sadistic evil!

T70%
by T####:

I kept having missing notification from my notification bar. This keeps track of the notification. The log opens the "manage app" instead of the app that is giving out the notification.

Y70%
by Y####:

Does Nothing. On opening it says "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped"

N70%
by N####:

On a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 (Android version 4.4.2!) it just simply opens the settings! It does not do anything else! Does not add anything to view the notification history! Totally useless junk.

N70%
by N####:

Does what it's goal was to do: open your hidden setting on phones that don't have it accessible. Any issues you may be having (ie no app on notification tap) is from your notification history menu and not this app. Now if only I could read the itty bitty messages that my cell made...

U70%
by U####:

Simple and does what it's supposed to. Helped me find one of those pesky random notification sounds.

X70%
by X####:

Doesn't show notification messages on Galaxy Note 3, just shows apps that sent them. Only semi-useful.

N70%
by N####:

Therefore it is impossible to know what a notification was about. This app just tells which app sent it, which is useless if an app has multiple different notification types.

W70%
by W####:

Please please please make the history go back further in time....it only show notifications from the current day.

K70%
by K####:

I need to know exactly what the accidentally dismissed notification said. Useless app!!!!

N70%
by N####:

It doesn't actually allow you to open the notification, only takes you to the settings page, still you can see it that's what counts i suppose

N70%
by N####:

A simple app that does the one simple thing that it says it does. It's a shortcut to Android's notification history log! Works perfectly.

R70%
by R####:

It doesn't work it keeps saying unfortunately the app has working why would you put a app on the marketplace that doesn't even work???

E70%
by E####:

Keeps telling me that "settings" have stopped

C70%
by C####:

Quits with error message that com.android.settings has stopped on lg g4

N70%
by N####:

Just crashes the settings app

N70%
by N####:

Instantly crashes on LG G4 w/ Tmobile

G70%
by G####:

This app is so simple and helped me find the app that kept sending notification sounds without an actual notification. Thanks so much!

N70%
by N####:

Works great, no bloat, system function - thanks for easy access!

N70%
by N####:

It helped find the app that was sending the unwated ads and I could remove it.

H70%
by H####:

10/10 It simply links to your notification log

J70%
by J####:

I saw a notification from a colleague but accidentally cleared the notification list before I could see what app the notification was from. I have a Samsung Note 4 running 5.0.2 and could not find notification history access anywhere in settings. Thanks to this app I discovered the notification had come from G+ and I quickly found the content in question

V70%
by V####:

10/10 It simply links to your notification log

O70%
by O####:

In Galaxy S5 (Android 4.4), I cannot find shortcut to Notification History. Luckily there is this app help me to do that.

T70%
by T####:

Other apps log your notifications and require all sorts of access to accessibility features and notifications. This app proves that those other apps are rubbish: when you open it you instantly see old notifications. Finally saw what notifications i accidentally cleared with clear all. Thank you!

T70%
by T####:

Good but could not find what causes my galaxy to randomly vibrate.

T70%
by T####:

it would be perfect to show whole message text (LINE, WhatsApp, BBM, SMS) so that we can choose to Reply which one of them is more important..
