Tips Mengatasi Rambut Rontok

Rambut rontok atau alopesia adalah penurunan jumlah rambut pada kulit
kepala. Sebagian besar orang pernah mengalami rambut rontok. Merupakan
suatu hal yang normal untuk kehilangan 100 helai rambut per harinya.
Namun jika berlebihan, terkadang ada alasan medis yang menjadi penyebab
kerontokan.


Pola kerontokan rambut akibat hormon dikenal dengan istilah medis
sebagai alopesia androgenik. Kerontokan ini biasanya terjadi pada pria
berusia di atas 50 tahun, atau pada wanita setelah melewati masa menopause.

Hormon yang diduga berperan dalam proses perontokan rambut adalah
/dihydrotestosterone/ (DHT). Hormon ini dihasilkan oleh hormon
progesteron. DHT akan menyebabkan
folikel rambut menyusut sehingga lama kelamaan rambut akan rontok.

Pada pria, pola kerontokan akibat hormon ini bersifat khas, yakni
membentuk lengkungan khas pada kedua sisi pelipis. Seiring berjalannya
waktu, garis rambut akan berbentuk seperti huruf “M”. Selain di pelipis,
puncak kepala juga akan mengalami kerontokan, sehingga menjadi rontok
rambut total.

Bentuk kerontokan yang berbeda akan terjadi pada wanita. Kerontokan
akibat hormon pada wanita akan terjadi di seluruh bagian rambut, tidak
terpusat di daerah tertentu saja. Kerontokan pada wanita juga jarang
