U Guard

It works OK around the house as long as I am in range of the router and have my phone set to wi-fi. I have a provider for my home internet, and a different for my cell phone. Even if right in front of the monitor, it will not load if I am using my cell provider rather than using it from wi-fi. The app has a great picture and sound. I like that I can take still pics, but do not like that it stores the pics somewhere I cannot save them to a file from. It doesn't do video? I also wish the app worked in quad view. It's a shame it doesn't work away from home because that is the whole reason for an app like this... The app could have been much better.

This app is good when it works. I doesn't like Android 6.0 and even states the app was created for an earlier version of Android. Uniden seems to have abandoned this app as they don't seem interested in keeping up with android updates. ​80% of the time there is no reply on my Android 6.0 device. Not cool. If you're looking to invest in a Security camera system that can be used with a reliable app for Android, I would NOT suggest using Uguard or even UNIDEN for that matter.

A nice working camera and dvr monitor system with major shortcomings in the android U Guard app. Need a few more features which would make this an awesome security system. They advertised on camera system box and this app it will email alert . It sends notifications to your tablet or phone only. Therefore you don't get snapshot with email alert. They lied. Support bad coming from likely China with inability to carry on any technical discussion only responding by script.

Update...contacted uniden 4 times with no answer. Going to the website revieled that it appears uniden are discontinuing all security cameras. A fix doesn't appear to be coming. Used to work good, now as of this morning I receive no alerts on my mobile, either fix your app or offer a downgrade to the previous version

I can only play video feedback about 25% of the time. Usually the screen stays black, and I'm unable to watch the footage. The live feed works well pretty consistently, but it's a big problem not being able to watch any of the events.

The app is amazing when it works but unfortunately in my experience its been 40% of the time because of connection failures. Between having to reset my monitor and having to install and uninstall the app (per company directions) every other month, its becoming a pain.

Laggy and slow to connect. Misses motion detection occasionally or freezes up. I like the zoom and 2 way communication, but would be better if it was simultaneous.

The app seems to drain my battery. When I exit out of the app to try and save my battery, the app will somehow turn itself back on. I had to remove my camera and the exit the app before my battery would start lasting a full day again.

This app is barely functional. If you want to watch the camera remotely, it kind of works. For anything else forget it. If you need timeliness and reliability, forget it. You get what you pay for. Basically a third rate app for a second rate product.

Unreliable and needs to be reset often which really sucks while trying to use it away from home. The app video playback is very slow and usually freezes after a few seconds of playback.

Garbage. Never get quality playback. Always freezes. Horrible. Should have payed for a better system with a better app. My mistake

App is not working properly on S7 Active. Try to view events and the app is lagging severely.

This app only works when I'm at home. I DON'T NEED IT AT HOME! When I'm away, it says connection failed. THIS is when I need it! Now I'm sorry I picked this Uniden system.

It freezes all the time. I can't lessen clearly

At the beginning it was working now its been a couple of months of course passed the return time so now we are stuck... Can't resell and won't such a bad product...

App works well no problems connecting and streaming video. Only bug seems to be in naming a device, the hardware seems to recognize the name but the app always displays the device as U Gaurd and name is always reset to this whenever you edit the device settings.

Moto G5+ Android 7.0 build# NPN 25.137-35-5. App crashes immediately when trying to add device. UNUSABLE 9/6/17 Also unusable on tablet. Won't login. Says wrong password. When trying to edit system and reenter password it just crashes. Exits completely out of app. Unusable. I purchased two systems to have four cameras with remote viewing, now their useless. This tablet was running Android 5.0

I don't get any notification on my phone

It is wonderful when it works. I get the notifications that there was motion but nothing is showing that something was recorded. Most of the time I can't even view live feed from my cameras. Wish this would get fixed. Good thing my family live all around me and can go check it out bc when I can't pull up my live feed or see a recorded for a motion alert I get scared and have to call to get someone to go check it out.

1) I would like to be able to set hours for motion sensing, rather than always on or always off, 2) have the ability to change the names of the cameras (i.e. basement, garage, front door, etc.), and 3) sort the events most recent first. Otherwise, it is stable and I can creep out my girlfriend when she is home before me with the camera speaker feature. UPDATE: This app was fine when I first got it. Now I see a consistent problem...get a notification, go to the app to check it. Can only watch one, crash.

In the old version of this app I was able to view and hear everything going on in and out of my home, and video play was only a couple seconds delayed, now with this updated version, video captured on my phone is dalayed about a minute or more, and I no longer have sound. Older version of the app worked so much better. If I'm doing something wrong please tell me.

Cameras have a delay. Really wish that you can make its own notification sound instead of what you use for other notifications. That would be helpful, especially in my situation.

To view events in playback from app, be sure the date is correct on the base station. Sometimes an incorrect date on BS will cause no events to be found for playback.

Hardly ever I'm on the same wifi and it still won't connect. With today's technology this is the best you can do? PATHETIC

Keeps saying connection fail. Only way the app will work is by being on the same wifi as the base. Go back to the old version. It was flawless

The cameras are only as good as the app used to view it... the app BLOWS! Connectivity issues regularly... the system is being returned and the app will be uninstalled today!

It freezes all the time. I can't lessen clearly

It works but needs some polishing. It freezes and needs to be reset, also there is no way to save systems so you have to input your system all of the time.

Ever since July the app has been unable to connect to the base. I reset the base each time then recoonnect on the app and it works for just a day. I went away on vacation in August and not once was I able to check on my cameras at home, pointless. Every time I reconnect, the app forces me to change the password. Then when connection fails I have to reset the password on the base. Doesn't help when I'm away from home.

Last time the sound stopped, I uninstalled then reinstalled the app to get it working. This time there is no fix. No sound since 9/2016.

No live action no 2 way talk. Kind of cheesy app for a camera that costs this much.

They created a half-assed app for a half-assed product. What a waste of money.

Installed it for the first time and it worked fine for the first hour now it just says cinnection fail? Someone out there fix this!
