Udemy in browser is best site to learn something new but as a mobile app it has plenty of bugs. Firstly it takes forever to load the course video list. It loads everything else pretty quickly but when I click on specific video it just takes forever to load list of videos while announcement and reviews on course are loaded properly. This making it impossible to use it. Is there a legal way to get older version of udemy? It was far better then current. Atleast videos did load properly....

Udemy is a great platform for accessing tutorials. However the app is very unreliable, it crashes frequently, and even though you've downloaded videos from a courses you occasionally get the message that offline content isn't available. But when it works it's quite decent, at least the downloaded courses are saved as .mp4 -files, so you can watch them when the app isn't working. Tldr; The Udemy platform is easily worth 5 stars, but the app is 1 star at best. If the app gets more reliable I'll rate it higher.

Before version 4, the app ran pretty well for me on my Nexus with the latest Android. I mainly use my Chromecast to cast courses to my TV but after the update, this no longer works. You can still sync to the Chromecast, but when trying to play content, the video freezes or plays on the phone instead of through Chromecast. Still a decent app but still needs work with the bugs

Udemy has changed my life by empowering me with the information I need to pursue my dreams! Nothing happens by chance and I'm so grateful that I "accidentally" ran across udemy. Each course ive taken has been worth every dime.

Hate the new UI. Half the time lectures don't load, other half of the time there's no button to pause the video in portrait mode. Swiping to next/previous lectures takes me to random lectures, most of the time they don't even play! Videos are randomly organized (e.g. lecture #60 comes are #38), so I have to spend 2-5 minutes searching for the correct next/previous videos. This is really frustrating!

Great app for accessing my courses on the go. Kudos to the developers; I reported an issue with the app crashing on launch yesterday on the android platform and the next day there is an update with a fix. I don't know if I was the only person to report it but I am grateful for the quick turnaround.

I want to start by saying that Udemy is great, I love their courses. The android app though still needs some work. It often pauses, jumps 5 seconds back, and every now and then restarts a video, just spontaneously. Other than that it's straightforward and works. I think I'd give the app 3 stars if Udemy wasn't that awesome.

Pathetic app, instead of complete connection available in my handset, this application crashed with no connection error whereas I can do suffering in the network. Videos get stopped abruptly , totally irritated. Contents are good but due to pathetic application , can't do study on it. It's a online learning tool ,so it must overcome such bugs

Not able to buy Courses from mobile app. keep seeing a Flag "web exclusively" then why would you even allow to buy. Plus when tried to purchase from PC payment errors everytime while same payment works fine everywhere else

M70%
by M####:

I do the classes are worth it, I learn at my pace, and everything in my timing. Which is rare in my world; I am extremely busy, but just within spare time. I am able to get online with my computer, or go to the app on my phone. And just go to town with learning, and I truly live that!

Aaaargh! Updated the app, and ALL my downloaded offline content are gone! But when I check my device's app settings, it says Udemy app is using 8GB of storage, which means it should still be there, but I can't see it! All I can see are the download arrows and when I try one, it starts to download. I had already very painstakingly downloaded EVERY video! Aaaaargh!

Many subjects to choose from, and a good selection of them are free or $9.99. I initially got a course for Microsoft office. It was very helpful. Since then I have taken various courses and haven't been disappointed.

J70%
by J####:

Be careful when purchasing courses via mobile app. The price mentioned in app is different for every single course when compared to the website; I've a case open seeking explanation (696850) for this misleading information.

M70%
by M####:

So thus is an update from my previous 2 star review. My issue with the app crashing happen to be from me being on a beta version of Android 8.0. I've since updated to a new version of the beta and running way better. Also thanks to the udemy customer service staff for reaching out to me to see what they could do as well.

Y70%
by Y####:

The content is good but the payments are a total mess. First the prices for the courses are different on the app and the website. Second, I didn't know about this and now my money is useless as it is in my google play balance.

M70%
by M####:

Previously I loved this app. But after the recent 4.0 update, I cannot cast to my chromecast. In another review Udemy replied and said casting was not available in this beta version of the app. However I am not enrolled in a beta of this app on my beta page in the play store. If you are going to have a beta app, use the beta play feature rather than forcing all of us to use a version that doesn't meet our needs and is unfinished. Also with the new UI there is not real implication of a finished, started or unfinished lecture. Before you had a white, half green or full green circle. Now you have a grayed out lecture. This is bad software design. It should be more apparent when a lecture is finished

I bought a course and I still didn't get it. It's showing me that i have to pay the money again. Very disappointed.

M70%

OK app. The chromecast icon shows in the app, but is no longer supported. Removing support does not make sense. It's what made this app so great. I will give 5 stars when streaming capability is restored.

M70%
by M####:

The content is great but the app is terrible. There are issues to resume a course, issues when rotating the device (screen freezes but audio continues, or screen turns white or video reloads) and sometimes the content cannot be started.

Udemy is a great platform already and has huge potential moving forward. The one thing I would like to see is a "curated courses" section. As I envision the concept, what I'd like to see is a section selected from Udemy's content that is reviewed solely by verified professionals and/or college or university educators who actually teach the curriculum in question. Basically, as a community college student looking to supplement my official college courses, Udemy has *too much* to offer for me to confidently select a course to purchase that I feel certain will be on par and current with what I'm doing in my actual classroom. I'd like to be able to be certain that what I learn from a Udemy course will be relevant to my official curriculum (in my case, web design). Reviews from verified professionals and educators would give me that extra surety that I'm dropping my dime on a course that is current in my field. I'm *not* saying Udemy doesn't already do that! Unfortunately, technology changes so fast and there are so many frameworks and languages involved in (in my case) web design and development that I just don't know which one I should choose (I was just looking through the results for "PHP mysql", which is a classroom course I'm currently taking at Kalamazoo Valley Community College). I love what Udemy is doing. I think it's a brilliant way to spread knowledge, and I hope my idea gets some consideration- my college courses only take me so far, and supplemental courses "off the books" are almost a requirement for people who do what I do. Knowing that those courses teach what my industry is currently doing would give Udemy that extra bit of value I need (and I'd be happy to pay extra for it)! Keep up the good work!

The app works well enough. My only complaint is that sometimes lectures don't get flagged as viewed and there could be a synchronisation issue relative to the website.

A70%
by A####:

Pricing & Retaining user policy - when a user starts with udemy, the prices shown to the user are the base prices, as the user join 2-3 more courses, they increase the price for that particular user, and the same course will be provided to the new user with lesser price, when you open the course in incognito, the prices will be slashed and comes down to the base one, they(udemy) stores the user behavior in browser's cache, and if the user is a regular, they increase the price for them.... A very bad user retaining policy on the part of udemy, unethical.

Chromecast rarely works, it is really frustrating to set everything up to start the classes and casting does not work without any reason. Sometimes it works and it is awesome when it does.

M70%
by M####:

It lacks only one thing: courses preview by collection. On a web-based site I can access courses from certain collections by going to My Courses -> Collections, whereas on this app I'm unable to...

M70%
by M####:

Recent update really sucks, when we click any course video starts automatically which is not needed like I opened course to download videos, plus this update deleted all my offline videos. I am trying to download videos again but it is not downloading, waiting waiting and restart downloading.

M70%

It has some problem. The basic thing about the profile setting is not working.i m unable to set my profile pic.

One of the best online education apps I've tried. Sometimes, it does indeed crashes, but after a while all is well.

M70%

Very useful, works great! Though I'm having an issue where my courses are showing blank when I select them. Please fix this and I'll give it 5 stars :-)

C70%
by C####:

The download feature is so bad when I have bad connection instead of pausing, it starts again and again and after that if my connection is okay it still keep on starting again and again and in the end 0 chapters are downloaded.

M70%
by M####:

Contents are great. But the app is less than optimal. I'm connected to wifi and it still shows not connected and doesn't download content.

M70%
by M####:

For the two courses I have it seems generally ok, but it won't let me cast videos which I have downloaded, forcing them to play on my phone rather than TV. This sucks.

B70%
by B####:

Video takes forever to load, making me hate this app. Only the Content is good.

M70%
by M####:

I haven't had any issues with the app and it is easy to follow my courses. I have been mainly using the web based platform more however. Keep up the good work!

M70%

Once I figured it out it was easy to use. In the middle of my first course and enjoying it. Will be interesting to see how the other courses are set up.

M70%

Just completed my first programming course today and bought 2 more. No issues at all with the app and really love being able to download videos to my device. I am very surprised with the quality of courses and the prices are exceptional. I'm quickly becoming a big Udemy fan!

L70%

Please return the previous version of the app! The 4.0 version sucks: not intuitive interface in the list of lessons, sometimes doesn't loads the content at all, doesn't track the stop point and often starts the same lecture from begining, etc.

M70%
by M####:

Quality content and easy to use. Now I'm addicted to signing up for all kinds of weird courses just to learn new skills.

R70%

Like the courses but your app sucks. I'm always having to close it to get videos to play. It's atrocious and wastes a lot of my time. Can you fix this thing???

A70%

I am not able to apply any promo code...and there is no promo code APPLY button.... I don't find this app useful without this feature...it would make large portions of people to UNUSE the app.I would be glad if u solve my issue......expecting an early reply

Why has this app stopped being able to cast via chrome, its only happened the last couple of days?
