Ultimate Guitar Tabs & Chords

Can't even open the beginner pages of the anatomy of the guitar because an ad covers it and it can't be closed. When you hit the back button to get rid of it, it takes you back to the page menu. So, you literally pay 3 dollars to see an ad that asks for 10 more dollars, which is what premium costs. I guess I'm just used to getting the full app when I pay for it. Hopefully this gets fixed so I can actually use the app, or I'll just get my money back. Guitar Tuna was working just fine, guess I got over-ambitious.

Don't bother paying for this app, I hoped doing so would reduce the constant ad pushing, but every time I open the app I have to get through three layers of ads, promotions, and requests for ratings or further upgrades. I just want to open the app and find my tab or use the tuner. It's pretty frustrating. Best library of tabs though, these guys have the monopoly on that. Autofit is good. App works well once you wade through the swamp of ads.

The app itself is good. It has the largest selection of tabs out there. That being said, I paid for the full version of this app and I am still presented with full page ads at startup to buy more Ultimate Guitar products. That is completely unacceptable. Edit 10/2017 App now presents me with full screen advertisements every time I open the app. They take 30 seconds or more to load and if you try to exit the ad before it loads, the app will force close. I paid for this app. I should not be extorted for more money.

I paid for the basic version of the app and not access anything on it. As soon as I open the app an add appears with no option to close and will not go away. I have tried shutting down the app, reopening and uninstalling. Ultimate guitar just seem like money grabbers and even though you've already paid for the basic app(which is all you want or need), they won't let you use it until you pay for the full one because they're scum. If you pay for something, even if it's basic you should still get your moneys worth. Not be bombarded with adds until you pay more. Ultimate guitar used to be such a good site. I'd rather just learn off youtube.

I have read a few negative reviews about this app. I would like to say I have bought the upgraded version and it's the best money I have ever spent. I have played guitar for 20 years and the ability to store and find new songs has not only increased my ability but has given me countless evenings of fun playing with friends with their inneviatable 'can you play.....' to which my answer now is invariably yes! Best app ever!!!

Great guitar app that I did not mind paying for. Its worth the money and I use it often. Dont like the pro tabs though they sound awful. Some backing tracks would be good and some more advanced lessons but hey im really happy with what is there already. Excellent effort. Keep up the good work.

I've just upgraded the app, fantastic that you can now edit tabs and save them as personal, and also great that you can now edit the title of your Playlists. It's now pretty much the perfect app. So why 2 stars? Because although all of my play lists are showing, when i click on them they are all blank....disastrous as i have a gig tonight!!!!

This app would be fantastic if i wasn't constantly bombarded with full page ads and offers to upgrade. Bearing in mind I paid for the app, which costed more than you would expect to pay for an app with similar functionality. All the responses on bad reviews from UG are just even more sales pitches to pay more for an app that has already been paid for. Ultimate Guitar used to be brilliant, you're very lucky there isn't much competition.

Unlocking tabs pro has been the greatest couple bucks ive spent in a long time. I can acces my favorite tabs offline, play along to the tracks and get the feel of practicing with others. Being able to adjust the playback speed makes learning tough songs easier and practicing easy songs more fun by playing at a faster rate. Although it hasnt got every single song i want, theres enough tracks to keep me focussed for hours on end. Theres hardly anything about this app i dont like, definately worth every cent. Some complain about the ads, but to me, the 2 seconds it takes to close them are nothing in comparison to the hours i spend enjoying the content. Thanks, Ultimate Guitar!

Fantastic app. But you have to pay through your teeth to get a chance to use it. Wait you already paid like me? No worries, the developers will still throw Ads in your face that you can't get around in order yo buy features (I personally) don't care about. As I said, great app, but dam these developers are just snakes, valuing money over a good user experience. Btw when I paid for this, their was no mention of a 'basic' version. This is a rip off and the devs know they can get away with it. TIP: Go to the website version which is completely free, find the 'Add to homepage' button on your browser, and use that.

Made a good review earlier, but I take it back. Bought the full version a few years back, and they removed it off the play store. Now it's a free app with in app purchases, total rip off. What it boils down to is I paid you guys for a app and you took my money and now you want more to use a app I PAID for. So I'll find other ways to get my tabs, and all I'll give you is this bad review and I'll let everyone know what a scam you guys are. Save your money people, they will only rip you off in the future.

I love the basic functionality of this site, and app. What a great community! But STOP ASKING ME FOR FEEDBACK, TO PURCHASE YOUR OTHER APPS, OR TO RATE TABS. I paid for this, therefore I want to use what I bought, unmolested. I am well aware what your other services are. I'll change my review to 5 stars when you stop bugging me every step of the way. Seriously guys, look at your reviews. Listen to your customers. I'm not the only one saying this.

Really intrusive ads all the time. You don't expect that with paid apps. I almost never use it because it's such an ad minefield. Feel a bit cheated by it and wouldn't get the premium one out of principle. That said, the content (when you can navigate through the ad bombardment) seems alright but not very user friendly. 2 stars generously.

Great community and content, the app itself is great, allows you to save your favourites and provides the mobile friendly version of the website. What makes the whole experience mediocre is the constant constant constant full screen ad sessions that you have to go through each time you open the app. I have never seen an app with such intrusive ads. I've already paid for this (twice!!) and I'm still seeing them. It's basically an ad app which also has guitar tabs..

Awesome app. I use it all the time and it never disappoints. If you don't know a cord, it'll tell ya right then and there. I've definitely learned quite a few new ones because of it also. I recommend anyone who enjoys playing and singing to get Ultimate Guitar tab's and Cords as an app.. It's worth every penny.

I bought the this app and I continually get reminders to upgrade. I would understand if this were a free app but I HAVE PAID FOR IT! I don't want to upgrade so please stop the pesky notifications. Down to 1 star now. The upgrade reminders are worse now. And the cheeky uckers prompt for a review and don't allow 1 star. Hey guys think about customer experience and not your wallets. User interface is not brilliant either!!!!!

I'm dropping my rating of this app from 5 to 3 because I'm sick of being asked to rate it after I had already done so. I'm also pretty sure I have the pay version, so if you could please stop advertising it to me that'd be great. Thanks!

It's a good app for computers and iPhone but it goes way too slow on Android devices. It takes 2 minutes if your lucky to open a tab (on my two older phones it took the same time). And I know it's not wifi related because its slow on all of the wifi networks I join. I did not get the speed and reliability what I payed for

The app is good for tabs and chords; however, I paid for it and then get ads from the app itself to upgrade for a more complete version. Did that too. Then get hit with even more "you should upgrade for another $4 to have this" every time I open the app. I should have to keep paying just to make this go away

Stop bombarding me with ads. I already bought and paid for this. Every single time I open this I can't even get to the front page without closing at least 2-3 ads for your "full version." I'm never, ever going to pay $7 more for whatever that is. Stop annoying me with these ads and maybe I'd be a little bit more likely. Edit: I'm aware I can hit the back button. I should not have to regularly close 2-3 ads for the same thing every time I open the app. I will never get the "full version" no matter what "X% off" you make up in your annoying ads.

Purchased a few years back, and it was great for my basic needs (bookmarked songs for easy access). But with each passing year I'm getting bombarded with more and more full screen ads upon opening. Such a hassle even to open the app that I can't be bothered to use it. Shame, really, it used to be good.

I think the app has many good aspects like the large amount of songs. But I don't think you should have to pay 14 pounds for this app. Although that isn't my main complaint. I think that the tuning system is rubbish. It's very slow and always gets confused about wich string I'm on.

Hands down the worst Android application I've used in my life. Whoever coded this didn't include the option to close ads without a backstep, which closes the application half the time. Sometimes the ads don't load leaving you with a blank screen that is unnavigable. It is upsetting that they make you pay for this. The user experience is at an all time low. Whoever designed this, please leave this off your resume.

This is an amazing app. Or should I say it was until it started to ask me to upgrade to the full version. Which I had already paid for way back in 2015 during the black Friday sale. Please can you get back to me with help on this issue. I will provide screenshots of proof of purchase if necessary

There's so much utility to this app it's unreal. Any player would be a disadvantage to NOT use the Ultimate Guitar app. I'm learning uke and it's so awesome to see my favorite songs from the radio already with a uke tab for it (even when the original song has no uke in it lol) and the transpose feature is so awesome to be able to switch from the easy chords to the more complicated but more accurate keys to play along with the song.

Dripping to 4 stars. Still love the app, but not the insesent ads to buy some new tab tracker app you're Hawking. If I said no to the offer ten times, you'd think the application would stop presenting the obtrusive ad everywhere I go within it

Previously rated 5 star but gone down to 4. STOP showing the notifications symbol if I've read the notification, it's distracting. Also, yes the ads for Premium do get a bit much... OTHERWISE, I'm happy with how I can do autofit and I love that the hords automatically appear at the top that I know what to play even though I might not have seen a chord before.

Awful, annoying, unskippable ads everytime you open. I don't see why we have to paid for the initial app and gets getting bombarded with ads and more ads. Intially rated 5 stars, frustrating ads drive me to write a bad review instead. Well done Ultimate Guitar USA. EDIT: In response to the Ultimate Guitar's response. I don't mind paying for the app. I don't understand why there are unskippable, continous bombardment of upsell every single time I login. Even pressing BACK after the app took a good 10 seconds for the app to load up. That's terribly intrusive.

Stupid, bought it but still ads coming up in it. For other uninterested stuff. Don't waste your money. Rather ge Usician. I upgraded on my laptop now I must upgrade per device type. Clearly app is made to make money.

Even after buying the full version I still get ads, and there's no way to turn off daily alerts at 6:15. Very annoying. Contemplating uninstalling and just reinstalling when I feel like practicing

Absolute garbage now. Was great until about 6 months ago but now is just money grubbing crapola that crashes constantly. Please change it back..i hate this app now..plus it constantly crashes even more than before latest update. Please put it back the way it was..some of my 'favs' have now changed, one had replaced tabs with piano music!! The only thing that was ever needed to improve was to make it so the fingerboard would show what the tabs do when u moved the redline along..it hasnt done that for awhile now but this update is horrid plus it doesnt include the aforementioned. Hugely disappointed.

I tried to look up tabs on the website I could barely do anything cause it kept telling me to use the app and guess what? I had to pay for it so I did cause your site is helpful but now I find out even if you pay for it they keep shooting up ad after ad to get you to pay more! It took me forever to even get through them because they give no indication of how to close the stupid ad! Congratulations you got my money but I am no longer going to use your tabs Update: Thank you for the reply but the problem is more that most people don't make you pay for a trial

Used to be a great app. But everyone else has already stated where it went wrong. So I won't bother typing it again. Uninstalling and never adding any of your products in the future. And your generic reply just proves my point. No matter how much people complain, you can only manage the same lame assed response trying to sell your busted service. Go play in traffic you greedy, useless f^*knuggets...

I tried the free app, and liked it so I paid 4 bucks for what I thought was the full version. Turns out that there is another version for 20 bucks that I am constantly offered discounts for. These popup adds for the upgrade are impossible to dismiss and render the app useless. I go elsewhere for my tabs now.

I seem to remember spending money on the premium version of this app some time ago. Lately, the app keeps bugging me to buy it again. Don't buy the app, it apparently doesn't count if they change their minds later.

Such a good app, but it bombards you with spam literally every time you open it up. It's intrusive adware and just not on to be honest. You guys need to think more about your fan base than getting money by spamming! Make the ads on the front page by all means, but DO NOT place 3-5 popup ads right at the beginning.

It takes me ten minutes to pull up any song on this because I have to fight through ten pages of ultimate guitar ads and offers even though I already paid for the app. This app is designed to prey on your impatience. At its roots, ultimate guitar is a scam. Also, it crashes half the time you finally get through the ads, and takes forever to load, despite everything else on my phone being lightning fast. I have to wait forever for the ads to load, fight them, reopen the crashed app, and then wait forever for my tabs to load. Learning songs by ear would take less time and frustration.

I got this app years ago when I first started playing guitar, dropped about $10 on ad free premium, and was very satisfied with my purchase, but now the features that I paid $10 for originally are far cheaper than they were when I bought them, and ads are back in my app that I paid to specifically not deal with. I do not want tab tracker, I want the ad free experience that I paid for. This app used to deliver, but now I just feel robbed. Do they expect me to pay for a service that I had already bought?
