_______________________________________

Ever wondered why your smartphone screen doesnt turn off automatically when it should have, the screen wakes up all of a sudden or you find your phone battery drained even when you exited apps and turned off the screen? This might be due to wakelock holding apps. ”Wakelock Detector” helps you to detect battery draining apps in your Android phone by checking wakelock usage history. Now you can easily find out what keep your phone awake and drain your battery when it is idle!

“Wakelock” is a mechanism of power management service in Android OS, which can be used to keep CPU awake (Partial wakelock) and keep the screen on(Full wakelock). Applications which use wakelock privilege improperly leads to situations where the CPU or phone screen stays active without user's knowledge and thus causing dramatic battery drain.

“Wakelock Detector” shows wakelock usage statistics for all applications, which ever held wakelock since boot. By default it displays CPU wakelocks sorting by the longest usage time. Further, you can choose Screen wakelock type to see screen related wakelocks. For instance, if your screen is keeping on even after screen timeout or your screen turns on randomly by itself, then you can choose Screen wakelock type on the top (Brightness icon) to see which apps are using screen wakelock. Furthermore, if you are interested in currently running applications then you can change sorting type to "Active" which shows active running applications on the top. For further details please refer to FAQ inside Settings.

Main features:
# shows both CPU wakelock (Partial wakelock) and (Full wakelock) ;
# merges wakelocks of corresponding app into one expandable view for better user experience;
# currently active running applications are shown in red color;
# allows easy sorting options by Running state , Wakelock time and Alphabetical order;

How to use:

#1 Charge your phone above 90% and unplug cable (or just reboot the phone)
#2 Give it a time (1-2 hours) to accumulate some wakelock usage statistics
#3 Open “Wakelock Detector”
#4 Check the apps on the top, if they show very long wakelock usage time then you found the cause of your battery drain!

#Notice
We are working on improving the performance of the “Wakelock Detector” by adding new features regarding wakelock issues users usually face. We are trying to follow up all your comments. And we know that the application is not ideal yet. We would appreciate if you send us email before giving negative comments in the Play Store. Your feedbacks are always welcome!
* MIUI users - Make sure that battery service is turned on.

Great and important app. There seem to be some issues with keeping the detected stats while browsing /using the app. While going between screens, sometimes the stats for a given app or all apps are reset for some reason, without me doing anything intended to do that or changing the reference point. Sometimes happens on re-opening the app too, I think. Pretty perfect, other than that.

V70%
by V####:

I don't believe this app is working any longer. I find it impossible that every app listed in "Wakelock detector" has the same exact number of wakelocks!! This makes me think the app is outdated and can't be trusted any longer.

S70%
by S####:

"Statistics since unplug" is broken (i.e. does not list all partial wakelocks once selected, even if boot/unplug time are effectively the same). Although I prefer WLD's interface, BetterBatteryStats is more reliable at the moment (1/2017). Moto X 2013, WLD 2.0.1 installed as system app.

S70%
by S####:

The app is working well and reliable. It's showing me what's using up my battery properly. It's easy to understand and modify. Good work! The user interface could use a new look by now though.

S70%
by S####:

My phone was running terribly slow. Wasn't knowing what was causing it. Installed it and it showed one app waking lock all time. Uninstalled it and my phone smooth again. Deserves 5 stars

S70%
by S####:

Essential for fixing wakelock issues. This app is helping me fix my phone by detecting which apps are keeping my CPU wakelocked. For those who do not know what wakelock is: Sometimes, even when the screen is off, some apps (running in the background) are still using the CPU, which consumes more battery. Most of the time that is vital for the app (like GMail that keeps checking your in-box), however, once in a while, you might find something unnecessary stealing your electrons. This app helps you detect situations like those.

Too bad not working on 4.4 Update: developer is awesome. Now it works..

Y70%
by Y####:

Nice one. Very informative, simple GUI, small size. One thing I couldn't find is a chronology of wakeups.

S70%
by S####:

Used to be great, but after I flashed Lineage OS 14.1 on my old SD801 phone, it doesn't work any more. It toasts Unable to Perform the Task constantly

S70%
by S####:

Very useful app. However sort by usage for CPU wakelock doesn't seems to work which is annoying.

Z70%
by Z####:

I am rooted with Magisk however when trying to install Wakelock Detector as a system app I get the following error: "An error occurred mounting system RW. Aborted" Any help would be appreciated, WLD is a great app!

S70%

Love this App! Helped me to track the stupid app that was draining my battery! THANK YOU!

I cant find the custom pref like bbs, would be great if i can reset the counter

S70%
by S####:

I'm rooted and I get this message, "Failed to perform this task at the moment, try again later. "

S70%
by S####:

I'll be playing on my tablet and stuff then when it's at 100% i take the plug out but when it gets to like 98 or 96% it shuts off, then I plug it back in and wait a minute then I turn it on and the battery is at like..2%

S70%
by S####:

Never gave me any useful info, and just found out I can't uninstall it... At least it's disabled and doesn't take much space...

S70%
by S####:

This app is terrible and useless, use better battery stats.

S70%
by S####:

Great job! I find out that later version of shareit app is responsible why my screen auto-sleep not working at all. Thanks wakelock detector.

U70%
by U####:

Now, every time I open it, there is no info shown unless I hit the refresh button. And even then, there are a lot less things detected than there used to be. My phone hasn't changed at all, only app changed.

After having major issues with the app, the recent update has it back to full speed.

H70%

Не работает на андроид 5.1. Говорит нужен рут. На 4.2 работало без рута . В целом, приложение полезное. Upd: I've installed v.2.0.1 but the application still requires root after I run it. Too bad. I like this application very much. While pressing the "Install as a system app" Thanks for trying to make it work in Android 5.1 though

K70%
by K####:

Thanks for making this free. It is a user-friendly app with lots of sophisticated wakelock info. This is what I need. I am considered as lucky because I am still using Android 4.3 which doesn't require me to have root access for this WLD to work. Keep it up!

K70%
by K####:

Each time you try to greenify a app that has a Hugh wake lock it force closes awesome app please fix

If you are n00b, you may benefit from the use of the app for the simple problems, but when it comes to experienced users with strange problems, partial wakelogs are needed, so i switched to the *other* app. Liked the interface and everything, but it doesn't suit my needs.

H70%
by H####:

Worked before you added "install as system app" option. Not working anymore, just shows toast "cannot perform this task right now". P.S. I don't want to install it as system app, it worked before as normal, non-system app. Edit: Working again!

K70%
by K####:

Worked fine earlier today, but crashes at start since updating the app about 10 mins. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling with no effect. UPDATE: My God, that was a quick reaction from the devs! Working fine again!

U70%
by U####:

This app can be seen as a simplified version of Better Battery Stats' ability to collate and display full and partial wakelocks, respectively known here as screen and CPU wakelocks. For a quick, one glance overview of where your battery juice is going, this app is hard to beat. Better Battery Stats goes further than just wakelocks and alarms, but often that's more detail than one needs, so even though that app effectively provides a feature superset of Wakelock Detector, I find it useful to have both apps on my phone.

X70%

Nice job on the UI!! Looks great and the stats show full explanation of times!! A+

Updated to the latest version and it works like a charm now. Installed as system app, did a reboot and voilà! Using LG G3 running Exodus 6, 6.0.1

K70%
by K####:

"Failed to perform this task right now" marshmallow 6.0.1. Edit: still the same error after the latest update

V70%
by V####:

Can't use this at all with Kit Kat unless you have a rooted phone. It's completely useless. Afraid to install new update with Root access, reading too many people having trouble Uninstalling then if needed. Love the concept of the app but not the execution

K70%
by K####:

Issue addressed by dev, reinstalled.

B70%
by B####:

This app is useful for finding renegade apps who abuse the wakelock mechanism of Android. Pity that we still need third party apps to optimize our phones but thank God we have them.

H70%
by H####:

2.0.1 has fixed the crashes. Back to normal and reinstalled. Thanks...
