Venmo: Send & Receive Money

I love the vemo app. I prefer it to PayPal for easy use on my phone. I can be anywhere to pay for my portion of a meal or even pay for my new handmade headboard. I tell everyone! Nowy adult children are using it to pay me back on items.

It's a great app to make quick transfers amongst anyone. I have used it for a few years and have not had a problem to date. If I had to say a negative the only one I can find is the amout of time for the transfer, but not being an actuall bank, I wouldn't expect it to be an instant transaction. So, don't expect it to get tou out of a pinch. All around a great money lending app though!

It was great when I needed to send a small amount of money to friends and to make one small purchase from a merchant. After attempting to make a purchase today I was given an error. I tried to send my boyfriend some money and it kept saying it couldn't complete the transaction. Not even for $5. My identity had been verified and I have more than enough in the bank to cover the balance needing to be covered.

I have not been able to send instant deposit for almost a month. No one in customer service has been able to help me resolve the issue or tell me why suddenly all instant transfers decline. The only advice I keep getting is to deposit directly to my bank account which takes 3 days. I really liked venmo at first bc my first few transactions were smooth and were transferred no problem but after two weeks and no solutions I'm ready to dump my account.

Great for giving bill money to roommates, paying when you forget your wallet, and pretty much anything involving funds and different bank accounts. Only thing is it may take a while if it's after 7PM on a weekday, and isn't as instantaneous as you'd like.

It's a convenient way to pay your friends since people rairly carry cash these days. However, I find it a breach of privacy that you can see when you receive and pay money to people. You can change this in the privacy settings, but it still feels like big brother is watching.

Super convenient! Makes splitting bills and paying back your friends super quick and easy. Pro tip - connect via Facebook or make sure you put a picture of yourself, especially if you have a common name! It helps your friends make sure it's you.

I love this app. It has saved me much distress. Instead of trying to figure out when I have time to stop by a friend's house to pay them back when they've purchased an item for me, I can pay them immediately. This app is literally the best thing ever!!

This app is overwhelmingly slow and slowing down the normal use of my phone. Once my $ is transferred. I'll never use it again. It pops up evertime I unlock my phone and a henderance in normal $ transfers. Which can take up to 3 or 4 days letting me know. My $ is sitting someplace unknown.

Kind of annoying to put in a phone number in the payment box. Doesn't support pasting, doesn't support split screen (so I can see the number & type it), & when switching back-and-forth between apps it removes what was initially put in the box :|

DON'T USE!!! Somehow there are two fraudulent transactions taking 980.00 from my banking account since I signed up a week ago. Never had any issues with the real PayPal program. They lied on their website, and are not affiliated with PayPal.

Cant even link my bank account, what kind of dumb app is this. Sent in support tickets on mobile and web browser but I doubt they'll even see the problem

I went through the secondary verification to bump my transfer limit in the most diligent fashion. It caused a weeklong strife between me and cust. service - it was handled but stained my more than 3 years of patronage.

This app is terrible! There is nothing quick about it. They take a week to verify your bank and you are unable to get fast funds deposited onto your card. Cash app for the win. I'll never use this again. Also, the customer service is useless

Super useful! No need to worry about splitting the bill and not having the right change, or writing down bank information to send money to your friends! No need to wait for them to remember to send you the money either, as you can also send requests and reminders!

This is a game changer. Completely solves the tab-who-owes-what problem. Pay exactly what you owe! Save your server the hassle of splitting checks among multiple credit cards.

I dont lime that it shows what othwr people transaction. I dont want a ni Notification for that. They need to work on that. I have turned off a the notification but still get one when someone buy or pay some one. Really DO NOT like that

Too pushy trying to get us to friend people. Seems they are farming are personal contacts. Pop-up says go to Settings->Friending to change but that setting doesn't exist. Clicking on a name to add a friend on PC does nothing. Should be able to pay/receive without friending. Default setting is to make all transactions public. Not good. Nice that it is free. Don't see any advantage over PayPal.

WORST SERVICE EVER. They take down Instant Transfers for "routine maintenance" but don't send out email notices or even a message via the app. Like normal payment type services do. So now my money is STUCK until the service is restored. When chatting with them the response I get, and I quote is "Yeaaa. Sorry for the inconvenience". Are they teenagers running this service? STAY AWAY.

Total scam. Used the app to send my friend money. First transaction went through just fine. Second one they started asking for more personal info. First my drivers license, which I sent, then copies of my bank statements, even though they had clearly already been able to withdraw from my account without the info. Every email wanted just a bit more... Stay away. These guys are crooks.

This app is horrible. Its been a week since i transferred money to my bank account and its still not in my account. Customer service says it takes a week to transfer money!!! Should have had a check overnighted instead of using this app! If a d wgen i ever get my money in my bank account, i will NEVER use this again.

Dont always get the money from a transaction and it malfunctions.... also most importantly dont change ya number dont forget ya password and def dont ask for help from them. They will ask for more info than they did when signing up and put you at risk for identity theft in my opinion ... Not worth using what so ever... worst app experience ive had. Use another app another service you'll be much happier.

This is the most horrible customer service I ever had. They say you can never speak to their people regarding your transfers. All they tell you when you call is that wait 2 to 5 days for them to get back to you via email which they almost never do in less than a week. I was supposed to receive my money in to the bank 6 days ago . Up to now they tell me to wait for their email. Don't be fooled by this app. If you need your money in time, try other apps. Please . Or else you will miss your bills trusting these fellows. Some times the transactions may be on time. But don't be fooled. That one time they will dance around with your money until you feel like exploding. Will be sharing screenshot of my correspondence with them I like a fee days. It's horrible

Honestly would be a great app except you can't actually view a friends list... there's just no option, no easy way to just... see a list of the people you're most likely to pay, which is kind of weird

This is a money transfer app. Understand that it isn't the same as handing someone cash. It's more like a credit card transaction. It takes a couple days to process and clear; so, duh, don't use it for medical emergencies. It's great for paying people back after they spot you for lunch, fix your car, or babysit your kid. If you need immediate money, use a cryptocurrency.

Its great for peer to peer transactions but that's about it. Also, one can deposit money from a prepaid debit card into Venmo but not from Venmo to a prepaid debit card. Dumb frustrating.

Originally i would rate this app a 4.5 but now that they have added fees when wanting to transfer to bank account the rating has gone down. But still pretty good app

Froze my account yet I've never been able to use it. So they now have all my account info yet I can't reach it!!

So everytime I ask my homie to spot me for gas. They say I don't got cash. Fake news bruh Venmo me. Great app thanks. All my homies paying me now.

They took down their instant transfer feature for what they call routine maintenance but notified no one. I am in a dire situation where my son requires medication for his autism and due to domestic violence we had to relocate out of state and they will not take his insurance hear a friend sent me money to help get his medication because he will not go to sleep without one of his medications as extremely disruptive behavior because of this routine maintenance I cannot transfer it out to my debit card. Additionally they will not accept a bank account from chime bank but yet the chime app allows you to send money to Venmo horrible.

Awesome idea but doesn't work on my htc one9. Popup messages remained on phone screen until I uninstalled the app. Hopefully this issue will get looked at, will try again later.

I think this app is awesome! Some of these reviews are crazy! I have yet to have an issue and works great every time I use it. User error maybe for some of these folks I believe.

The worst imaginable whosoever! They have a glitch and kept my money for days, when I was having an emergency and was stuck on the side of the road! Awful! Will tell everyone I meet or will listen about this! Treating me like a fraud with my own bank accounts is ridiculous and can't be for my own good when I'm pleading for help and understanding!

Get your whole work crew to download Venmo and never worry about getting shorted on your lunch runs ever again. No more "I got to run to the ATM, I'll pay you later." I love this app.

I recommend this app. It's jist a tad difficult locating ppl on here to pay them. Send a friend request 1st to ensure ibdont send $ to wrong person

Cannot get confirmation/receipt of payments made. Kinda got to lick your finger and pray that payment was received. This app really SUCKS. Too soon to tell about anything else. This Is My FIRST time using and you want a rating....duh!

Solid functionality but who the hell wants a social network feed reading all your private transactions? Stupid.

Glitchy. Can't click notifications and most times they don't load or show up. Didn't have this problem on my iphone.
