London Official City Guide

Shame app uses stock generic photos for a lot of places, which could be confusing/misleading to visitors. Seems this is not updated as still showing HMS President (1918), when it is no longer in London. Beware this covers way beyond London is some instances and you could find yourself on a time consuming journey. If you are desparate for ideas this may be useful.

Useful app, shows you where all the best attractions are, and what's around - coffees, food, shops, etc. you can even access the info and reviews offline.

Planing trips is not working on android. Must be fixed or removed from Google play as it not useful android app

London City Airport

I tried using it at home first as I wanted it specifically for getting around the Lumiere event. It worked perfectly in my living room showing all of the locations. However as soon as I tried it actually in London all of the filter options disappeared from the menu and I could no longer see the locations. I gave it 2 stars because the basic map part works.

The contents in the app is fairly useful, however the app itself is so badly written in every respect, it's effectively useless. First, you need to find the app on your phone under a different name. Offline mode or any caching is non existent. The app doesn't release resources when minimised. Navigation through the app is unintuitive and doesn't follow any guidelines. The list goes on...

Excellent app! As the name suggests it's not an app for Lumiere but rather a London city guide. The devs must have worked overtime to include information about Lumiere and it's a shame to see that back lashing to them as they did a fair job to integrate it to the core app. All in all, It has lots of information about things to do in London, venues, sightseeing, shops etc. It's great to be able to plan your whole day of exploring this great city and have all this information stored to a single place! Thumbs up!

London is the most fantasic city but this app is dire and really lets the city down. I'm trying to find Lumiere events and they're there but when I find an event it has a map but the map isn't live - I can't scroll to see what's near. If I look on the "explore" section it doesn't even show the Lumiere events - I have to choose Lumiere from the side menu and then they show (but nothing else shows so you can't work out what's nearby) It also really needs an off-line option - if you're a tourist visiting London you probably don't want to be using expensive data to keep refreshing the map. It really is time that this app was made worthy of the city it presents

Failed to detect my location. It keeps saying that I'm not in London when I tap the arrow icon in the Explore tab. Makes it hard to use as I have to find my location manually. Otherwise nice and useful app. Device : Moto X Style, Android 6.0 Marshmallow

Save yourself the hassle. Go to the website, download the PDF onto your phone and use that. Faster and way more useful. As most people have noted, after some heavy promotion of this app for Lumiere London this fails to be useful. A list of locations, how far you are from them, and how to get to the things. Simple? Unfortunately not for the developers of this app; slow, bloated (50Mb!) and needs to have network access (when, of course you'll be in a crowd and the network will be flakey).

Downloaded this app as friends recommended the "plan you visit" function. However it appears the Android version doesn't support this...somewhat disappointed.

With the filter Lumiere you can easily find every event and you even know the time to get there walking. Useful app. I can't wait to use it this week end!

I found the app really helpful as it showed all the Lumiere spots and also how far from my location they are placed.Lovely app to find hotspots around London. Loved it :)

Promoted as the Lumiere map .. but doesn't contain the Lumiere map .. pointless.

Doesn't work

Misleading promotion - was promoted as "the app" for the Lumiere event but it isn't, it is a generic city guide and not a good one at that - not even a search facility.

Downloaded it as prompted by lumiere London website to find out more but can't search or find lumiere info.

This app is utterly useless. There is no search function, the promised feature of creating an own itinerary doesn't exist. This means you can only scroll through the long lists with no way of bookmarking or saving things you want to do or see. Useless.

Here it is folks, you have successfully found the worst piece of software on Google Play, you have been warned.

Just giving error that app stopped.

The application constantly crashed. I tried to use it during the Lumiere festival but though it loaded all the site filters on WiFi e.g. Lumiere, Things to do etc without WiFi it was continually searching for a connection and only showed a loading icon. It's a shame because it does have some good ideas which would be useful if they worked.

Just a spattering of things without a map. The downloadable PDF files are considerably better.

To big, too slow and no info on London Lumiere so uninstalled.

Not a lot of features. Just used it for the underground map (that you can get anywhere)

My girlfriend has this app on her iPhone but the app on android does not have the same features, you cannot add places to visit for offline poor app.

Installed to find out more about Lumiere. Hopeless, and impossible to find anything. Very disappointing.

Omg this is amazing. I was carrying a paper map and now I don't need it. I can use this offline and travel around London like a really 'smart' person. Great stuff!
