About Pendulum Studio

Simulate the motion of nine different pendulum systems in real time on your phone.
Use the simulation as a live wallpaper.

Included systems:
1) Mathematical pendulum (2D): the simplest pendulum.
2) Pendulum wave effect (3D): when multiple pendulums are combined a peculiar wave effect appears.
3) Spherical pendulum (3D): a three-dimensional generalization of the mathematical pendulum.
4) Spring pendulum (2D): a mass connected to a spring.
5) Spring pendulum (3D): a mass connected to a spring in 3D.
6) Double pendulum (2D): the simplest example of a system which exhibits chaotic motion and is highly sensitive to the initial conditions.
7) Double spherical pendulum (3D): a three-dimensional generalization of the double pendulum.
8) Spring mathematical pendulum (2D): a rod attached to a spring.
9) Spring spherical pendulum (3D): a rod attached to a spring in 3D.

Features:
- All simulations are performed in real time by numerically solving the Lagrange equations of motion.
- Use the accelerometer of your device for dynamical determination of the gravity force.
- Take into the account the friction force to see the damping of the pendulum motion (recommended when using sensor gravity).
- Use your fingers to interactively change the positions of the pendulums.
- Use pinch to zoom gesture.
- All of the parameters for each system can be modified in the preferences.

No excessive permissions or user data mining.

Brilliant App! It's exactly what i was looking for. The simulation is very relatable to the real world. It would be good if we could improve the 3D view for a good visualisation.

I like this app but how to set these pendulums as a wallpaper

N70%

Wonderful app for live wallpaper. Loved it.

For free this can't be faulted. The patterns generated from a trace on the pendulums often look like a chaotic SpiroGraph. In math terms several of the modelled systems ARE chaotic. It would be great if the developer added the ability to see MUCH longer traces. Were this done using an on switch to a pixel, which then remains set to that colour until it's "hit" by the trace from the other pendulum one could show traces of any length and the memory needed would be just that holding the image. Good coding Voladd - now add the longer traces and here's a "song" to inspire you: "Putin khuilo - lah lah lah, lah lah lah" !

Best pendulum app ever and it even includes it as a wallpaper! So beautiful and it is very relaxing to see the patterns.I really love it thank you for creating this app.

Fun to play with and watch, cool that one can interact with the physics of gravity and inertia.

Maths + physics + technology = awesome

So cool... I just love this app... Too good

N70%

The 3D mode is confusing. It would be better if the objects scale up as they get closer to you.

U70%
by U####:

fantastic app, mesmerising, I've been watching this for too long. although, if I set the gravity to zero, it crashes and I can't reopen that part of the app ._.

Q70%
by Q####:

Great app, but the 3d very isn't good. Perhaps it would be benificial to have an option for a shadow effect along a surface.

K70%
by K####:

This is one of the coolest apps I've ever seen. I love all of the different modes. It'd be great if you could control how long the pattern trace stayed on screen so you could get an idea of the pattern over a longer period. It would also be great if you could switch to full-screen mode to see the amazing patterns without the distraction of the controls.

Very nice, it will be interesting if couple oscillations is added.

Q70%

Good attempt but strings never get slacked which prevents three normal behaviour as that of a real pendulum..

N70%
by N####:

It crashes so often it crashes my phone

N70%

I liked the overall look and fiction of this simulator, though you only have a limited control over the pendulum.

It creates a unique live wallpaper every time I see,

K70%

EXCELLENT, but missing dual suspended pendulum 2 see Lissajous figure. also speed should be controlled.

S70%
by S####:

Great BUT it would have been better if there would have been an option to view it from 3D perspective.

An excellent visualisation aid to stimulate appreciation of the beautiful mathematics underlying the mechanics.
