PETROGLYPHS OF BUDDHIST PERIOD IN GILGIT-BALTISTAN

Gilgit-Baltistan province is an integral part of Northern Pakistan ,where three majestic mountain ranges of the Central and South Asia interact; Himalaya, Karakoram and Hindukush provide a safe refuge for origination evolution and development of culture .It touches China and Afghanistan on the north and northeast and Indian held Kashmir and Ladakh on the south. The close vicinity of the Central Asian states further adds to its importance. It is the region, which in the opinion of the Geologists,is the meeting ground of “ Continents in Collision” .
