I have used Waze in so many countries and in so many tricky situations I can tell it is a great app, amazing how many I was offered a solution to avoid an event on my way. I recommend it to everybody. Announcement are sharp, options are great you can tune the app easily and to your own hands. One thing is missing for me: it does not go through my contacts and allow me to drive to their address. Maybe an future improvement.

It doesn't get any better than this. By a stretch, the turn by turn directions by Waze are your best friend as a commuter by car. I'm not a fan of most of the alerts for cars on the side of the road, potholes or weather, or the social platform aspect, but everything else is top notch. Thank you Waze team for saving me time daily on my commute. Two years later the app had proven to still be the best in this field. It consistently provides accurate estimate of travel time. On occasion it sends you through neighborhoods that you should not drive through, but you learn to ignore the suggestion when it seems plain wrong.

This is a follow up to my last review where I rated the app a 2.5. I have changed the rating to a 1. I transferred the app to my new phone and although the app recognized my phone number and acknowledged my account, the app would not open with my account. Therefore, all my favorites as well as my history is lost and unusable. I used to like Waze because it does a better job of routing around traffic than Google Maps. I have now switched to Google and only turn Waze on in the rare occasion Google is not showing me a way around the traffic. I live in California. Otherwise I recommend staying with Google Maps as it is more stable and has never lost my route information. I had used Waze for approximately 6 years. Nevermore.

It's a great app. I would like to see Google Maps incorporate the Waze alerts, although I'm sure there are good reasons why they wouldn't. For example, when I am warned of police , nothing really changes except maybe I check my speed. But there are so many psychos on the road I would want them to be put away, instead they get warned too.

I think the app is pretty good. I work for a courier company so I use it all the time. The only problem I have been having is with the hands-free option. It repeats the address back to me but then clears itself so I have to manually type in the address which is not good at all when you are trying to drive. Once that issue gets resolved I would be more inclined to give it a 5-star rating

No idea what you did to the previous version, but thank you for fixing it, at least now the road names are back and the coloured line showing the rout is functioning again. Anyone else wanting Dash Cam facility added to this app besides me??? chffr is open source and does exactly what it was designed to do and more.... Just a thought!!!

Could be better. Speed limit icon to small. Need to be able to download maps. Set more navigation options like no county roads. Needs to be able to show your GPS and emergency location and contact numbers. What a disaster. twice it has now taken us on back roads where one was gravel and one was in poor condition and dangerous when we could have stayed on the interstate and got to the destination much safer and faster.

This has changed how I drive! I no longer stick with the same route, regardless of traffic, because I don't know if a different route will be quicker! Listening to traffic reports on the radio is not nearly as accurate as this! I use this for everyday travel & out of state travel. I'd be lost (or forever stuck in traffic) without this! Lol

Waze is great and is my go to navigation app. Question 1: Is there any way to update app to route us to traffic lights for major intersection crossings? Sometimes in order to find faster routes, I am routed to major intersection crossings without traffic lights which increases chance of accidents and increases time to destination. Question 2: Far too many times, I am routed to the street directly behind the location (like the back of the building) I am going. Has anyone else experienced this? Will company update this as well?

This app has great features. However, trying to open it in android auto causes AA to freeze with a black display, requiring a restart of my phone to resolve. Bugs like this endanger the user and border on negligence. If a phone is not fully supported for AA, it should be blocked. Using Huawei P10

by T####:

Very crashy and glitchy. Crashes every time Internet connection is lost and that happens a lot where I drive. If it crashes when navigating and there is no internet you can forget about restarting and getting any additional directions until you have Internet again. Google maps doesn't have this problem.

How do I set it to the nearest store to me. Wishing the turn time on the screen would be faster. The turn time isn't that good when looking at the map I've had to hard brake quite a few times because I think the turn is later. I love being able to do updates. Customers love Santa Claus. And I love the speedometer indicator. I'm hoping for more character voices for the next holiday

Excellent Sat nav. Have always used TomTom for many years and never found any other Satnav that is even close in terms of ease of use, accuracy and reliability, until now. Tried Navmii which was good but recent bugs prevented me from saving favorites and recent destinations meant I gave Waze a try. I have found it extremely easy to use, no problem finding any of the places that I previously had problems with. Cannot rate it any better! Good work guys!

This app will make your phone turn into a furnace if you use the GPS longer than 1 hour. On a drive up to NY I started losing battery life while charging because of the heat issue. This app is a heavy heavy heavy app. Resource hog monster.

At first I don't like this app and continously use the alternative one but over time it is very helpful. One advise if ever granted would make waze the best of best. To show alternative route options to choose from. Overall thanks much Waze.

It was a great app, and probably still is but since my Sony zx phone has updated, the app will load but can't geolocate using the phones GPS.. Or search for a postcode. Pitty because in the past this app has got me out of some major jams.

Don't use it alot but its great. If you have any troubles and don't have a Auto club, this next best thing. Love the road reports,if something or someone is on the road!! Google Maps has gotten alot better, almost as good! I'm

Works Great until new phone. Issue is with waze and android auto. Plain and simple it's not working on a Samsung S8 plus and android auto and 2017 elantra. It worked fine same car but on the Samsung S4. Filed an incident report a few weeks ago. It's a real pain not being able to use waze

T70%
by T####:

Pretty good. I like the visual better than Google's. Not bothered about speed trap notices as I don't speed. The traffic notices are good. But, departure notices don't seen to work, some routes provided are just plain silly, and it can lag write a bit sometimes. Overall though it's a good option and I'll keep using it.

T70%
by T####:

Crashes all the time, can't route l long drives, unerringly routes me into some of the worst traffic jams I have ever seen, lacks lane guidance which is a critical omission when driving through complex interchanges with heavy traffic, ads that pop up when you stop. I really don't get why people like this app. Much better mapping alternatives out there.

T70%
by T####:

I like every thing. Bt the great problems is that it doesn't says to stay on which number of lane . It really confusing to make turns on a multi lane road. I hope you guys will consider this for next update and it heats up my phone to much . Overall waze and wazers rule around the world

ETA/Departure notifications are not working. Quite accurate with speed traps and also seems to have good reliability on turn by turn directions. A bit delayed sometimes in providing directions. Lags a bit from one step to the next. Been using it over Google maps and have noticed this could use some work.

T70%
by T####:

Now it is android auto compatible.. much better! :-)...I can use it in my car!! Positional accuracy is improving (there is a very slight lag on the map) but it's early stages yet....if you could report things later ..after you had passed them that would help.. as would being able to mark current position and tag it as a favourite.. still improving:-)

T70%
by T####:

It's great that I can use it on my android auto head unit now. There are a few issues though. The main one is that the app continues to run in the background once I disconnect and there is no easy way to close it. The normal app has a persistent notification that allows you to close Waze - this doesn't show. If I don't remember to force close it, it uses a lot of my battery and it can also cause issues the next time I connect my phone to the head unit.

I use waze every time I get on the highway even if it's only for a few exits. Must have for road hazard detection... oh and cops... I love driving by after fellow wazers have marked them. Thanks for all you do. Keep up the great work.

App could be better. On ios, I've used it for 5 years and it's great. However on android, it's different. The app often stucks at waiting for network. Need to off and on app several times to get the app working as usual. Very troublesome. Now using Huawei P10 Plus. If improves, will give full stars. ☺️

Great when it is working. I love the community based features, and the fact that it successfully rooted me around a road shutdown due to an accident (a friend of mine uses a different navigation, and ended up stuck I'm that traffic for over an hour!) However, recently it started giving me an error while navigating. "No GPS, showing approximate location." It is the ONLY app on my phone that uses the GPS and has issues with it. Uber, Google Maps, GPS Status and Toolbox are all fine. Only Waze drops the GPS signal. I tried ask the fixes I found online for it with no luck. It was working fine prior to the last update. If they fix this in the next update, my review will change to 5 stars. Update: The latest update fixed the issue. Everything is awesome! Great navigation!

T70%
by T####:

In the last update the route option buttons for fastest route and shortest route were removed. Now the routes given are just too complicated and making it frustrating to use the app. Please restore these options. I will continue to use waze for speed cameras and live reporting.

Utter piece of junk. This app was good about 2-3 years ago, but lately has become complete garbage. Sending me on routes that make no sense and wastes my gas and time. i don't know what happened but it's very upsetting. I feel like he developers of this app all have their heads up their asses.

I use Waze every day for my commute to and from work in Toronto. It's very helpful in finding the quickest route. Tip: once your route is set you can switch your phone to airplane mode to save data. It will still work, just no new routes or warnings will be displayed. Excellent app! The more people that use it the more accurate it becomes.

T70%
by T####:

I love using waze but lately it doesnt seem to be responding right. When loading the app, only a dark screen appears then it crashes or if the app does work it can even tell where i am as my avatar is only in a white screen without any street names. I already reported this to waze. I hope it gets fixed soon!

Extremely useful for small cars! Recommended already to all my friends and family. Absolutely lovely application!! This will rule all the related satnav/gps if the focus on lorry/truck all TomTom,Garmin, etc will go bankrupt ????

G70%
by G####:

Amazing app! Literally my only complaint is that the gps is slightly delayed i.e. map takes a few seconds to display next turn after you have made a turn. Other than that, it's awesome and saves me from getting speeding tickets and waiting in traffic! Rock on!

T70%
by T####:

I enjoy this app's features, and connectivity to my phone calls and spotify. My only criticism is when driving, its off by a few seconds; for example, in busy areas with many streets, it can be hard to tell which road to turn on. Google Maps does not have this issue, but doesn't have the connectivity. Overlal, I prefer Was and use it everyday.

T70%
by T####:

Never failed me...even use for work in a morning to see which route is clear.... Update Dec 2017 there has been lag for a while the car position is behind where you actually are resulting in missed turns, many reporting similar on Google

T70%
by T####:

An excellent alternative to the built in maps and navigation program with near real time traffic updates and an engaging points system. I've turned to Waze when the built-in apps have failed to report bad traffic or closures. Extremely helpful!

T70%
by T####:

So bad. I can't set proper address for my home as badly as for my workplace. Unlike Google maps, where we can easily set place by choose the exact point on the map, Waze don't have such useful feature. Had uninstalled this app on the very same day after installing. Perhaps I will install again, once it's been improved.

T70%
by T####:

The app just vomits if you try to navigate too far (MA to PA for example). It chugs slowly trying to even make a route, and then can't even offer alternate routes. Also letting me pick different voices for nav but not playing a sample is silly.

T70%
by T####:

Ever since they started trying to make the battery last longer the speed has crashed. Many times you have made the turn and have already passed the next turn before it updated. You can be on a street for 5 min and it is still telling you to turn in 25 feet. Oh and my fav, it will direct you to make a U turn only to tell you to make another one. I long for the days when it ate your battery but worked.

T70%
by T####:

Where did the navigation option to choose to go shortest route vs fastest route go? Did they remove that? Also, I live in the DC area and it would be great if we could tell Waze to avoid certain roads (like the infamous Beach Dr.). Finally, it would be really great if Waze took drivers to the same side of the road that the address is on that the driver is navigating to. As a Rideshare driver, it is really frustrating in busy downtown areas when Waze takes me to the opposite side of the street from the person I am picking up, forcing me to make a dangerous u-turn or forcing my passenger to cross a dangerously busy road. Otherwise, good app.
