Optik™ Smart Remote

Called up Home Services Technical Support and they could not get it to work. App setup generates an error at the second to last step where it asks me to name my Digital Box. Unreal. How can Telus not offer support for two flagship devices...I see the last time Telus updated the app was Jan 2016-- 11 months ago. Might be due for an update.

This used to work pretty well but after the last update it no longer works on all my devices. No reason why. Just either won't install or won't load. Please fix it and stopped messing around...

Their disabling of service to rooted phones has enraged me. Also with Telus, your pvr recordings can't be saved when pvr fails. Plus their CC captions are terrible.

If phone is not on wifi, the results are unpredictable. Used to be a great feature to request a recording while away from home. Some update in the past has caused a "Wi-Fi not connected" alert to continually appear. :(

Stupid App! Why would you need to remember you password every time you want to record or change something on your own TV? And shouldn't resetting it using the Password Numbers generated by your own TV work?! Of course not! you've been Locked Out!!!!!!!! Pathetic!

This is a broken app. If you don't Force Stop it after using it, it continues to run in the background and drains your battery at an alarming rate. This really needs to be fixed.

Just installed and paired with my pvr. Seems ok I can see TV guide and record shows. Bur it's very very user unfriendly. Also there are some buttons such as "play this show" nothing happens once you hit it.. What's the purpose of this button if it has no function connected to it. I used bell fibe TV app before it was working like a charm. Need attention for sure...

It does not pair with my device because i do not have telus internet. This should work with any brand of internet.

What the heck is going on? It's saying "socket time out" and doesn't recognize my email as a valid email and it is telling me to start a new account....I've had this for years! Why would I start a new account?! And why did this arbitrarily stop working as it was working fine literally 25 minutes ago!!!! Telus you are a horrible service all around....can't wait to kick you to the curb...

This app is so frustrating. The guide is so painfully slow and the search function is the worst I've seen in a long time. I've searched specific titles and nothing and then the first word of the title, still nothing. Then I scroll to the time and there it is. When you select to view only sports it shows a few sports channels, not TSN mind you, but the 24 hr cricket channel that I'm pretty sure I don't get. And then like the Optik search on my TV, you search movies and you get only movie channels, not movies played on regular channels. This has been like this for years and they still can't figure it out. My Shaw box could do this 10 years ago.

I used to be able to log in and it worked well. However, now it says my account/email doesn't exist. I can't even create an account from my tv. Says error???

Very easy to use. I love that I can set up my PVR from my phone, so no need to even be home for that. The guide is also great as I can search for any show by name.

Don't work, you get one star. Waste of my time and effort.

I'm not getting any data past Thursday. What happened? Is it my phone or something else that is going on?

Too many bugs popping up every time I try to use it.

I used to be able to preview the next song by slightly swiping left Now I have to skip to the next song completely ... please fix this ? Connection issues are also not always par Rebooted and issue resolved regarding left swipe

Would be an amazing companion app...if it worked. It never updates the titles (still shows october titles amd its 2017!) and i wish it gave more details on the show such as actors and a better synopsis

Hard to say what I think when every time I reset and enter confirmation code it tells me it's wrong! 5 times. BS!!!

Useless - followed instructions to the letter and phone could see PVR but would not pair.

It has an incompatibility with Swype that makes it frustrating to use. Search doesn't work and it is more jittery.

They phased this app out and didn't tell anyone. It doesn't show under tv apps on my television anymore. Apparently you have to use Optik On the Go.

Laggy, buggy and rarely works. Fitting product for Telus.

App closes on my new Samsung tablet e 9.6 but still works on my phone???

I have trouble reading the guide on the TV screen...this solves that completely and response time is faster than my remote. .I'll give it 5 stars when you remove the picture of gomeshi from the q profile. ...

So, 3☆s for now cause i haven't actually tried it yet but I'm just bout to so we'll see how it goes, "HOPEFULLY" it's not as bad as ppl r sayin it is because it would be really helpful to be able to use on my note 5. I'll leave it for now at this if it's any better i'll change an give more ☆s if not less or i'll uninstall it depending........??

Used to work well. But most recent update no longer lets me log in, and if try to reset password it doesn't find account linked to my email

Keeps telling me package is invalid but app on google play on my computer says the app is compatible with my phone.

I just hope you can put a detailed and full bug fix information every update. I know you cannot put that much here in Play Store. Please provide a link for the bug fix list. I really want to know which bug has been fixed.

Used to work now doesn't accept my account. Want to throw the thing thru a window.

Used to work fine but now it doesn't work at all. Tried to uninstall and reinstall but doesn't work.

This app worked a could weeks ago. Now getting constant socket timeouts. When I try resetting the Optik account and it says my email is incorrect no matter what I do. Pretty disappointing considering this app was a selling point over Shaw.

The search feature does not work within the guide. When I click search, it acts as a space bar so I cannot search. Please fix!!

You can't even read the secret question to reset, only half is readable, how do you answer a partially asked question. Therefore = unusable!

Ummm yeah so like I have used this app several times to see what is on tv, then when I switch to the channel I want to watch the wrong thing is on the tv. App says x-movie is on x-channel, go to x-channel and y-movie is playing. App said last night Jimmy Fallon was on x-channel and no it wasn't, it was Stephen Colbert. Is there something I am missing?

App having all kinds of issues, specially when trying to use it to record a show. Have to tap show on the guide repeatedly while selection jumps back and forth, in some cases it works, in the majority, it DOESN'T! Deleted the app, came back to it a month later...same issues...GET ON IT TELUS!
