DX Cluster's focus is on alarms and real time spots. The app runs in the background as a service and alarms you with a ringtone of your choice when a callsign or prefix appears in the DX Cluster.
The key features of DX Cluster are:
- Real time spots: Connect to one of the 60 AR-Clusters in the database and get real time spots.
- Filtering: A country filter can be set to filter out countries of the spotter or spot. If you just want to receive spots originated from North America enter K,VE and choose spotter. If you just want to see spots from Germany, Netherland and England, choose DX and enter DL,PA,G.
- Alarms: DX Cluster will alarm you by a ringtone of your choice if a callsign or a prefix appears in the DX Cluster. For example enter ZL8 in the alarm field and as soon as a spot with the prefix ZL8 appears on the cluster the DX Cluster will alarm you. Multiple callsign or prefix entries are possible.
This app is intended to use by ham radio (amateur radio) operators only. You need a ham radio callsign to log into the DX cluster!

Like it, but needs to be able to show more than the latest 15-30 spots. How about options to allow user to set number of spots to show. Maybe even a pause button so you can really scroll through the list before an entry disappears and you miss key info...country flags would be nice too...

This is a great app for finding those needed countries without having to sit in front of the rig. The developer was also helpful in fixing a minor issue. He quickly fixed it and sent an update out. A MUST HAVE APP

Used it for 13 colonies while on vacation. Worked very well! Need way to dismiss alarms. Maybe add column headers for click to sort. Also allow check boxes to choose bands.

Installed, connected to favorite cluster and its sending spots at same exact speed as my laptop. Filter options are very nice. In future updates it would be nice to see the country name next to prefix . Thank you for making this app available for us DX'ers. 73 de W8VI

Can't connect to other than preset clusters, not even my own server. Rubbish, uninstalled and refund.

Get every spot twice on cluster. Some clusters does not work. Please update these flaws.

Great app. Does what it says, easy to nav, dev very fast 2 respond to comments & ?'s. Try Morse Trainer by same dev. Both very handy apps-W6IDJ Scott

Using the app on OnePlus One 3G. Selection of servers to connect to seemed a bit limited (21), with only one listed in Europe at the time of review. Using the app on a medium quality cellular 3G connection (versus my laptop on WiFi), I found spots were appearing at the same time (not necessarily in the same order), even though the app was connected to a server much further away than the laptop was. The displayed spots are nice and clear, using the full width of the screen (which also rotates if the phone is moved to landscape orientation - nice touch). Solar data and bands/modes in use are displayed below the spots. I would like to see a bit more control on the filters - maybe checkboxes for the bands instead of radio buttons, or turning bands on and off via the selection displayed across the bottom of the screen. Alarms would be more useful i they could look at the comment text as well, ie for SOTA, IOTA (or even CQ) which doesn't appear in the callsign fields. All in all, useful, but not yet as useful as other cluster apps out there. Hopefully later versions will include some of these ideas, then I'll look again. Thanks to the developer for a good app and continued work :)
