WHAT MAKES THIS WEATHER APP DIFFERENT FROM OTHER APPS?

WE FILL IN THE GAPS
Our 250,000+ personal weather stations report the most localized weather conditions. The data that we collect from our user-owned weather stations fills in the gaps between the airport weather stations that other weather services rely upon to generate forecasts - meaning our data is generated from actual data points in your neighborhood.

INTERACTIVE WEATHER & RADAR MAP
The most interactive weather map on mobile allows you to select from different weather overlays including current conditions, animated radar, satellite, webcams and severe weather. Customize the map by selecting specific data layers or choose from the various map presets such as severe alerts.

CROWD REPORTING
Sky reports let you tell us if the sky conditions we’re reporting are what you're actually observing. If you see something different you can report the conditions you're experiencing for the benefit of other app users. Hazard reports allow you to report any hazardous road conditions you experience to help other people in your area.

App History & Updates

What's Changed
- Now you can send pressure data directly from your phone’s barometer to help improve your hyper local forecasts. You don’t NEED to, though. No pressure.
- The radio tile was on its last legs. The stations were getting progressively less reliable and signal was spotty.
- Bug fixing. Less crashing.

Long time premium user. This is still hands down the best weather app and the best weather website that exists. Their use of local personal weather stations and accurate localized forecasts makes their forecasts better even than the National Weather Service, and the detail they provide far exceeds the other sites and apps. Paying the small amount to remove ads is well worth it, even though their ad-supported version has fewer ads than the others. You don't need to look anywhere else, this one is the best! Highly recommended....

As a field wildlife biologist I watch the weather like a hawk. (See what I did there?

Downloaded while on vacation in the NE and was able to get accurate weather info and radar. If there are ads I haven't noticed them yet. Minus 1 star because I can't get rid of the notification on the top of my screen. Although it is nice to see the temp and conditions in the notifications bar I wish it were optional or at least easier to turn off.

I live in a small town well away from major weather stations. For 5 years I've been unable to find correct forecasts for my area, even from local sources. I've been using this app for 1 week & so far the temp has actually been accurate. Where other sources predicted low 80s, WU has said 90s & it's been right every time. I'm looking forward to seeing its accuracy when the snow starts flying.

F70%
by F####:

For true accuracy down to "your" neighborhood, nothing better. I wish the radar was a little sharper. The biggest problem is not their fault. It's the fault of the manufacturers of the PWSs. Most of them, unless you're spending $1000+ should not be called PWS from the reviews I've read, they should be called POS. I've been ready to install 1, but, a $1000. No. The app itself is great though.

by R####:

I like the locale crowd sourced idea, but the benefit of that is dependent on density and reliability of local weather stations. My first expreriance using it in Andalusia, Spain, is that the number of weather stations outside major city centers is sparce and the hyper local weather information either incomplete or suspect. The forecasts weren't any more accurate than my other app, which provides far better location coverage overall.

Excellent app. Great for local weather with plenty of data. What I find most worthwhile though is thehurricane tracking, a must here in Florida. Category Six is a great blog and Dr Jeff Masters has been my favorite for years. The only odd thing? My weather is listed for Brookside, a town no one has heard of or knows. It appears by pictures to be an I95 overpass near my house. Hmmmm

Fantastic app. I love all of the information it gives you. Also there's a great widget selection and I'm so pleased by it. Give a constant notification of the weather and also updates (ex. Rain will continue till 4 pm). Wouldn't recommend if you get agitated with notifications, but would if you don't care/can get used to it. I feel so silly for being so excited to learn about the weather pattern each daym

W70%

Needs a widget the size you jave but would fit my state in it so I can see a storm coming without opening it. Please for avid weather users make a widget that "a state" would fit in. I used weather bug for several years and before the revamp it had one. I had this widget on my home screen so while at work I could just hit the button on my phone and see the weather moving across the state. I don't want to have to touch the widget or go into the app and resize the map to see what is moving across my state. We like it at a glance. Not 7 or 8 steps to get to it every 15 mins when we're at work and a storm is approachi

I wish the widgets allowed for more customization, but the app has everything you need in a concise format. I'm a landscaper, so I'm checking this app out multiple times a day. I can't even remember what "must-have" app I used prior. At least give it a look. And the other nice thing, they have a browser add-on that functions and looks very similar. I actually found the app because of the add-on.

One of the BEST weather apps available. So much information in one app. Daily rain accumulation, sunrise/set times, wind speed, barometric pressure...and soooo much more. I LOVE the area cameras, such a genius idea! Insanely helpful when planning outdoor events. However, I am unable to get the videos in my area to load.

Great app. Greatest except for 1 thing. Here's the DL; I find this to be faster to load, and more accurate than the weather apps I had been using. Most liked feature- one can dial into a specific weather data collection point nearby- it is very useful for micro - climate data in the mountains. One can also see the past 2 days of temps, etc. Really like that too. The one thing I always wish they had is the history of rainfall on the preceding days. I often want to know the next morning how much rain my station received to set sprinklers.... Thanks for a truly great app!

I've been going to the Weather Underground on the internet since the early 1990s. They were one of the first really useful sites for average people on the internet. They started out in the non-commercial and open source mold and I have loved the weather Underground applications since the beginning. In my opinion this is the best app out there.

I want to be able to choose a specific default location and opt to not have location auto update to the nearest crappy weather station. Every time I open the app, I get a weather station down the street that puts out preposterous readings and I have to manually change to a different station. If I'm in France on holiday, I still want this app to open to my specific Lawrence, KS weather station. The fact that I can't do anything about it sucks and I'm knocking off two full stars for it. Fix it, and you've got yourself a 5-star app.

J70%
by J####:

The weather is accurate, it has a lot of features, and the interface is the best looking out of the other weather apps out there. It would be 5 stars except for one thing: the widget and temperature on the top of my screen don't automatically update anymore except for once a day. I have to manually refresh it which kind of defeats the purpose in my opinion. I don't know if it's something in my settings or not but I tried reinstalling it and same thing.

So far this is the weather app I like most. Why? Good UI, many useful infographics, detailed and quite accurate forecast, continuous notifications of local weather alerts. Ability to refine the exact weather station you want, not just a name of a city. And of course, free version has ads, but at an acceptable amount and not too annoying. If you want to remove the ads, you can subscribe at a pretty reasonable rate, 1.99$ for a year. The app however, has some rooms for improvements, such as the satellite view which in some area doesn't appear neatly, kinda like missing puzzle pieces. And add the ability to report weather from the app (crowd report) - I can see others reporting but i couldn't see how I could report myself.

by R####:

I have used the app for years and enjoyed it to the point I pay for the ad free subscription. I have always enjoyed the GPS location feature. The recent update has broken down my GPS unless I enable Google location which I don't use. I don't understand why I have to use a web service "middle man" to get my location when my device has it's own hardware that works fine "gps fix in 3-5 secs" to do that.

by R####:

This is the Weather app for my area. It is usually the most correct when it comes to the storms and temperature. I love that I can report the Weather where I am, letting them know if they are right or need to update. There should be a place to report hail and other weather conditions that are missing though. This is the only reason I gave this app a 4 instead of a 5.

B70%
by B####:

Weather Underground constantly gives wrong temperature (too high by 3-4 C degrees) where I live (Finland). If it works better somewhere else then that's great. Here I cannot recommend using it unless they get it sorted out. Otherwise it's a nice app.

R70%
by R####:

The weather app itself is great, very accurate which is rare here bc my town has a wet side and dry side. However unfortunately the widget almost never works, so I have to open the app to see anything more than the temp in the status bar. Plus that temp often doesn't update until I open the app.

I love wunderground! I've been using it since they launched it a few years ago because their hurricane info is great and their accuracy is spot on. The only thing I dislike is that it doesn't have the lightning strike info like one of their competitors. I have to use 2 weather apps just for the lightning strike aspect. I'd love to see that added so I can use only wunderground.

Everything you need is here and it's so easy to use! If it stays this good, I'm here to stay! No "East" Harlem" weather sta.? Even Central Park would be better for me than the West Side Sta. "GREAT APP", Thanks! P.S., Temp has disappeared from my notification screen!!! WHY???

Nice apps. But I have suggestions for this apps. There is a option for webcam but in India maximum people haven't computer but a large number of people have camera phone with Android version. So if we use our phone camera then we can update the live weather. But carefully observ the peruse of live report then add this option. Thanks

Nice look but accuracy here in Hungary...well it isn't even come close. It says it's 16 celsius out there. No, it's just 6. It's reported possible rain for days. There was no rain. I'd like to love it but this won't be good. Maybe they focus more on the USA, UK and so on.

I love this app very much and have been using it for years! Best and most accurate weather app out there. About 1/3 of the times when I try to open the app it'll immediately crash though, but it starts working when I open it again. Seems to be an issue with the app since I've had two different phones experience the same crashing.

I was a very early adopter of your app all these five star ratings from people who have just started using your app, and I am a paid user. Why would you take away the forest fire and smoke from the map layers? Dropping Intelacast. ..why. Glad I still have an old android that it works on.

Overall, I like the accuracy and layout. Better than AccuWeather and The Weather Channel apps...but, the app is a resource hog. After I launch it I can literally feel my phone heating up. Eats through the battery. So I must manually kill the app after I open it up each and every time. Hopefully this will be fixed soon.

Update: Lenovo came out with a trash update that broke the app's notifications and widgets among many other things, I am on Moto Z Droid and radar can no longer refresh or do anything really. Older: It comes with a radar widget, that alone is enough for my endorsement. The ability to swipe over to the radar is something I've been looking for, for a while.

This app is intuitive and uncomplicated and provides everything that's relevant in terms of what we need to know about the weather, anywhere we go. I love the way the info is formatted and categorized. I especially love the hours of the day information with the times of sunrise and sunset. There's even a pie chart showing ratio of daylight to dark hours! To the makers of this app: You got it right, so please don't change a thing, format-wise!

Good straightforward forcast but not worth an ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION! You can get the same from other apps free. I also have a PWS linked to WU, for some reason it occasionally drops off the map for a couple days then pops back up. Tried contacting them to see if it was from my end or just something they do, never got any reply whatsoever from three emails.

Update to your response. I have already changes the settings in it. It is not working. Had this app before and uninstalled because nothing worked before. Looks like you never fixes the issues. App isn't updating in the notification bar. I tap the refresh button and nothing happens. App also not updating when I unlock my phone, as I have the settings set to do so. App won't update at all unless I go into the app.

L70%
by L####:

The radar and satellite functions show current conditions about half of the time. Not sure why entire sections of the maps are blank, showing nothing around my location. Weather forecasting is usually off by 5 degrees or more, predicting lower temps than actually occur. At least the app format is easy to navigate.

R70%
by R####:

Finally a weather map that has everything I expect in an easy to use and quick loading interface. I feel I've tried them all and this one is far superior to the others. Could use more widget options but that's being picky! Please don't change with an update and ruin it!

M70%
by M####:

Great app except for the radar. Seems like it only half loads most of the time. I wish you used Mapbox from the Storm app instead of Google, think you would have more positive results. I think I speak for most when I say that the looks of the map are not as important as the info on the map and if the info is not fully there, it is of no use.

F70%
by F####:

Overall this is one of the best weather apps out there and you can change the reporting stations. You can also change the refresh rates sometimes that might lead you to think you have a bad temp but it' because it only refreshes hourly you can change that. Also there is lots of other data from the NWS. Trust me I've tried a bunch but always go back to this app.

R70%
by R####:

One year later and STILL no storm tracking. Goodbye!! Use to be the best weather app out there. Now storm tracker is off and current temp is off by over 10°. That's a LOT. How can I depend on severe weather alerts if can't get the temperature right or even close. Uninstalling and switching to something else.

R70%
by R####:

Great app. Didn't take me long to buy the $2 per year app. Update 10/11/2017: the radar is horrible now. It doesn't update itself when I move the map around. Use to work, now it causes frustrations. Update 11/7/2017: radar is jerky, too inconsistent with its motion. Still at two stars.

My Sister just bought an Acurite 5-in-1 Weather Station for me. My family and I are really enjoying weather underground I find it great we can see acurite weather right from the back yard on the weather underground app. I'm glad I signed up. I just had got a gold star too for acurite weather reporting's

R70%

When it works it's great. However, I have it use personal weather stations as well as NWS, and sometimes these stations stop working. If you click the widget to get into the app, you can check the forecast for wherever you want, but you can't update the widget. I used to have to remove and then re-add the widget to get to settings that would let me change it by searching. Now even that ability seems to be gone. The widget is now unusable for me.

R70%
by R####:

So I really like the widgets you get with this app which is the main reason I purchased it. But the radar never works. It works differently at different levels of zoom. I wish I could attach pictures to show what I am talking about. It's very frustrating. One of the main things you look at to see when rain is coming is radar. Please fix this. I will help you if you need it. Idk how that big of a problem got through QA.
