It’s easy – use your voice to tell Culinary Pal™ what recipe you are searching for. Then listen back to Sadie guiding you, step by step. All you have to do is listen.
You control the pace – you don’t have to scramble to measure two cups of flour and sift three times. You take your time, perform the action and then say, “go!” when you are ready to go to the next step.

1. When prompted to speak, always wait one or two seconds after the low tone double-beep.
2. Sometimes, you may need to repeat the answer in order to be heard.
3. To interrupt Sadie in the middle of her speech, touch the Search button or SHAKE your phone.
(note: only interrupts if web page load is NOT in progress)
4. To disable pause-by-shaking, say: "Disable Shake!"
5. When paused, resume speech by saying "continue!"
6. Adjust "Shake Sensitivity" via Settings.
7. Remember the magic word “Sesame!” – If Sadie seems to be ignoring your commands, sounding only double-beep signals, Culinary Pal is most likely in “Sesame mode”. Just say “Sesame!” to re-open the whole set of commands.
8. To disable scrolling & link opening via touch, say: "Disable Touch!". To re-enable, say: "Enable Touch!"
9. To make Sadie speak faster (or slower) say: "Speak faster!" (or "Speak more slowly!").
10. To reset to default speech rate say: "Speak normal!"
11. To accurately spell a search term or phrase, enter SPELL mode by saying: "Let me spell it for you!" (or just "Let me spell!"). Then, spell each letter only after Sadie has acknowledged the recognition of the previous letter.
12. To exit SPELL mode, say: "finish spelling", "end spelling" or "spelling complete".
13. If you're not sure what to say, just say: “Help!”
To use a headset with PAUSE/PLAY, NEXT & PREV buttons, press:
1. PAUSE/PLAY (middle) to pause. Press it again to continue.
2. NEXT (bottom) to immediately skip to the next item in the list.
3. PREV (top) to immediately go back to the previous item in the list.

It doesnt work for me, I have the right internet connection and device. However it doesnt load for me, the voice keeps repeating same thing over and over. Doesnt respond to commands nor look up recipes for me. Sad that this doesnt work. will keep trying.

I am quite impressed with how well Culinary Pal works. It identifies every word I came across so far. After I received your mail back I went and just played with the program asked for random recipes and used all the commands as much as I could . I let it read to me and it did very well. A couple of things I found needing adjustment were the window of time to give a command. I find that she will ask many times over before I have a chance to speak. Maybe there could be a setting to change the timing or only have her ask 3 times say and give the "sesame" command to get her attention again. Another setting or option that I would find very useful is to have her continue to read with maybe a pause of 1 to 2 seconds when she gets to the end of a step instead of saying "go" at the end of every step. I'm not sure if you can manage it but I would love to be able to ask her the odd question like " What is the cooking temp ?" . I know its in most of the recipes anyways but was just a thought. As I said above I had no issues with the speech at all and the commands listed under "help" all worked. If I do happen to find words that she doesn't like I will make a list and email them to you.

As with any great product, weather it be a new LCD TV, a new home computer or even something as simple and small as an app that someone goes thru daily, there's always room for improvement. Please don't get me wrong, this is one awesome app. I use this app all the time while in the kitchen planning my families meals. A big THANK YOU goes out to the creator's off this app and all the time that it's shown that you have put into. Keep up the great work.

Works best with WiFi. It works OK with 2G but only when there is good coverage (4 bars). I can see where this pal is heading... Thumbs up!
