Its a little tricky to connect to the cam, the best thing to do is turn airplane mode on your phone and then turn on just the wifi. U have to connect your phone's wifi to the Roav cam's wifi network. overall a good app, I could see the videos easily once connected. Although, like others I don't see why gps access is necessary

It connects with my Samsung S7 Active with no problems other than I do have to put it in airplane mode. Minor inconvenience, but worth it to connect to the Cam wirelessly. I'll rate this 5 stars once I get the option to download the videos straight to my phone. Currently it downloads in the app only. I want to upload the videos to share, but I'd like to be able to edit out any filler beforehand. It has the option to upload straight to to YouTube but I don't want a 3 minute video for the 30 seconds of video I want.

Great update, the only critical feature I can think of that is still missing is batch downloads. Best New features added: additional time for loop videos (up to 10 mins) and progress indicators when downloading videos

So the actual dash cam has a good feel to it, quality and stability but this app has a lot to be desired for. I own 4 dash cams including this one 2 others have apps also but the functionality of this app is surely lacking. 1. Wi-Fi can only connect once its turned on from the cam unit 2. Display won't shut off if the Wi-Fi is on 3. When are you suppose to download the vids when Wi-Fi is always off and your ready to leave your vehicle 4. No selection of individual vids for deletion, its all or naught 5. Parking mode doesn't really seem to serve a purpose without a constant power supply 6. No motion detection recording (what I would really want) the manual indicates that it might have but not found anywhere in app or dash cam menu 7. This might be the worse yet, can't save videos to gallery, can only play them in roav app. 7a. Files are not sharable App is still in review I'll come back and give more feed back as I use this cam more

Requires GPS to be turned on to use app. If that were not required I would use it. Also if you're on Android you will likely have to disable cellular data, because Android assumes you aren't very smart.

Need to be able to save videos to your phone's gallery. Only gives the option to upload to YouTube, why would I want to upload them there?

Cannot connect with a Nexus 5x running latest Android 7.1. Not impressed at all.

Why isn't there a feature to save videos to the SD card? This makes zero sense considering the file size of the videos. Other than that, it works very well.

Updating review after app update. Everything works perfectly now. The recorded videos are sharp and clear and the app connects properly now on Android 7.1

Installing this app deleted all of my Bluetooth pairings. Really unhappy now that I have to re-pair some 20-something devices.

It's decent but there is no reason to try to force me to turn on my GPS.

I really don't understand why I need my GPS on to connect with the camera. Inconsistent grouping; example: May 13, May 14, May 16, May 15, May 14, May 13. There's emergency and non-emergency videos for both groupings of May 14 and 13.

100% absolutely useless app for android 7.1. How an app is not functional with a nexus phone that is 100% google os is beyond me. Usually an anker fan but this steaming turd is not worth the time of day. Completely unable to access the device as it connects then if you di anything or touch anything it says wifi disconnected. Anker you can do better, for now I await or the dashcam goes back Terrible experience Anker! Only wich that zero stars was possible.

Buggy. Says connected but when in the settings menu, it says Wi-Fi disconnected. I can't access the video as well. Running Android 7.1

Same issues as others: need to forget and re-pair the wifi connection in order to use the app each time.

The video quality is by far the best I've seen, which utilizes a Sony Exmor IMX323 f1.8 sensor. This Roav dash cam has WiFi to transfer your videos and also can operate on its own using the internal battery which is showing 5hr 15min on a full charge. App is can make more better.

No issues at all, clear and great audio. Bought 2 for our cars, used them Thursday through Sunday on a 5hr drive to a car show and back 3 days later, great footage. S7 edge

After open dashcam's Wi-Fi, the app can easily connect to it. Glad to find that I can watch All the videos thru app, also can download them to my phone, and play at any time.

Can't connect to my device to view videos

Use it for few days so far ,image quality is good,app is easy to use.

My LTE connection wouldn't turn off even though phone is connected to wifi... so my data usage still continue to be used even though Wi-Fi is connected.. reinstalling the app doesn't solve the problem

Updated last night, and stopped working. Crashes as soon as I try to open. UPDATE: App now works. But the still need to make the main power button in the device lock the file. Using the invisible touch screen buttons to lock an event is user unfriendly.

Lots of improvement needed: - Batch download - Improve wifi speed (might be impossible without changing hardware). It takes as long to download a video as to actually record it. So if you want to record and download an half hour long ride, get ready to wait for it. Also, it is so slow that it is impossible to stream a video from the device, even at the lowest resolution (720p, 30fps), it keeps buffering all the time - Power button to snap an emergency video. Using the small, almost invisible button just below the screen is almost impossible and quite dangerous while driving - Sort video in any kind of meaningful way, you know, like date sorting would be the minimum...

Worst app for paid product ever. I don't care what 2.0.0 or 2.0.1. Please do not push new update if you have not tested it and make it bug proof. For the developers, it's just changing a pointer declaration; for the user it's a totally ruined day. Sitting in car, right in front of device, Wifi speed slow as hell. In-app video playback is not real-time, laggy for every single frame?? My regular media player works perfect with the video file. It seems to take a Core i9 to 100% in order to achieve what is already on the device. To contract developers: Please respect Anker's brand and do not make sugar like this. Also, if the chip maker can make a chip for $30 that can record, play back, AND wifi transfer videos so well, why couldn't you make a as-well app WORKING on a $600 phone?

Just updated the app because my video would not upload to YouTube. Instead of fixing my issues, it deleted all of my "local videos." What nonsense is this?

Need help. Will no let me upload trimmed video (3:55, 1080P) to Facebook or Youtube. When compressing it fails and I get a message: "Sorry, this mobile model not support to Compress video size, we recovery your selection to available size." What does this mean? ??? I have an LG G6

It works well after update APP. How amazing when I can use google after connect WIFI .

New update made app work again. Overall, I think it's a pretty good app.

DO NOT DO THE UPDATE! The app was fine before the update on 5th August. Now the app will not open. I've uninstalled and reinstalled countless times but still will not open.

Last update stops the app from opening.

Was able to connect without having to turn on Airplane mode, however I have to turn on WiFi on the camera, which is more cumbersome as you have to scroll through a couple of menus. On top of that, downloading videos is very slow. As others have mentioned, a batch download would be useful, but with the slow download, I would rather just pop out the SD card and pull from it directly. Lots of room for improvement.
