Praise
"The popular Couch to 5K app helps new runners avoid injury from doing too much, too soon."
—Runners World, June 2012

"It's ridiculously easy to use (it's hard not to, as you just do what you're told) and it's fantastic that you have an encouraging voice talking you through things."
—Engadget, June 2012

"Active.com’s Couch to 5K is one of my favorite… apps. With its customizable features, interactivity, and well-rounded interface, I may actually stay off the couch this time."
—148Apps, October 2011

"I knew as soon as I decided to start the Couch to 5K program that I would need something to keep me accountable—not just to showing up for my training, but to actually doing it properly. Of course there’s an app for that."
—CalorieLab, April 2012

"If you have been struggling to get your buns off the couch and somewhat in shape before the summer hits, training for a 5K is not a bad way to start. If you are looking for a program to help get you there, then the “Couch to 5K” running plan by CoolRunning is probably your best bet if you haven’t done an ounce of athletic activity for a number of years."
—Droid Life, April 2012

Update: I used this a couple years ago, so I'm biased. I started using it again, from the beginning, last month. You can't quickly scroll to the beginning anymore and I'm not seeing where it shows you what your jog is going to be like. Still a great app! Old: I loved it starting out! It builds up slowly, you can pause it or just end the jog short if you have to. I listened to the zombie cause he sounded as miserable as I felt! And I loved the half-way verbal que.

M70%
by M####:

Don't like the new interface. I run on treadmill and preprogram the walk and runs. Now I can't see the workout details before starting.

T70%
by T####:

Why have you removed the run.walk info from the front page. Now.i don't know what I have to do. Please return. Love the sergeant!!!

T70%
by T####:

Hmmm.. Seems like the functionality is the same, except as others noted I also miss the summary of what the days run/walk sequence will be, please bring that back.

X70%
by X####:

The new design is nice looking but shows you less information about runs if you want to see the breakdown before you do the run.

T70%
by T####:

Don't like the new update Like being able to see the summary of the work out

T70%
by T####:

I don't like the new interface. There are no complete information of the day's workout anymore.

T70%
by T####:

Great app but the recent update has removed the description of the workout. Please bring it back!!

T70%
by T####:

It does what it promises. I can run well over three miles now because of this program, and in less time than promised. I still use it because it tells me my pace while I'm running.

T70%
by T####:

Great app but still shows pounds for weight and miles for events in your area. Rest of the world is mostly metric, and since you've got a setting for that already it would be nice if it worked properly :-)

G70%
by G####:

Awesome app. Has really helped with my motivation and fitness

Z70%
by Z####:

GPS doesn't sync and track my route properly... My husband ran with me this week and his tracked perfectly on a different app so no problem with gps signal. Otherwise a great app, but wish they would fix that as I have to manually adjust all my runs and then all the stats disappear.

T70%
by T####:

Love the app!I was the perfect son who couldn't run even for 30 seconds, today at the end of the week 5 training I jogged NONSTOP for 20 minutes!!! That's bloody incredible! Thanks everyone for developing the app. p.s. the only problem I have , since week 4 my GPS tracker is seriously off. It shows way less or doesn't register some part of the route even if it registered it on previous weeks.if you could take a look at that that would be incredible. Cause it does kind of ruin my progress table:) thanks in advance!

I am 270 pounds and thought that I would never be able to run more then ten minutes at a time. with this app I have not only been able to run longer. I am also in better shape then all my smaller friends. it gives me hope to be able to cross something off my bucket list. completing a marathon eventually.

T70%
by T####:

I was already walking once in awhile but found it boring and couldn't get motivated. I am on week 3 and I can already jog much further than I imagined I would in 3 weeks. I already know I will move to the 10K app after this. In my 20's and 30's I loved 10k fun runs. Now I'm almost 50 and just plain fat. This has helped me get moving again.

T70%
by T####:

Seems okay but doesn't sync with Google fit and stupidly you have to put your weight in pounds. I paid for Pro and these are only minor annoyances but I'm going to give one of the other 5k apps a go instead.

T70%
by T####:

Doing the job so far! I've had a couple of runs where it couldn't record my route and distance for some reason, but other than that I'm happy with it

T70%
by T####:

Good app. Could do with being louder - I find it hard to hear the 'coaches' over my podcasts. Also some way of knowing how many jogging sessions you have left would be great.

Z70%
by Z####:

Really great and encouraging. For me the step between week 2 and 3 was very sudden and I kinda wish it was more gradual. Other than that it's perfect! Thanks so much :)

K70%
by K####:

My 10 year old son and I are doing this app together. We're on Week 8 now - it's the first time in my life I've been able to run any distance regularly without injuring myself. (I still have to do about 1/2 hour of yoga stretches before each run.) It felt like a huge accomplishment last week to run 25 minutes at a time without walking intervals. My son is already talking about the 5k to 10k app (not sure I'm ready for that!) and asking to sign up for 5k. BTW, we're Runnicorn fans. He's the best!

T70%
by T####:

Your app woke me up with a "we've missed you" notification at 6am Sat. I logged a run on the preceding THURSDAY, so it's not as if I'd actually missed anything. Seriously, sleep is precious and the 6am wake up call was totally unnecessary, bordering on outrageous. Screw you.

T70%
by T####:

To become a runner, you have to ease into it! Repeat each week if needed. If you skip a week, go back a week or two. Great training program and app... Have fun with it!

T70%
by T####:

Finally finished on the 4th try. Workouts were challenging without being too stressful. The only thing I'd like to see improved is the ability to input data from using a treadmill.

T70%
by T####:

1.1.18 - app has improved immensely!!! 6.22.16 - giving it another shot! 2015 - All of a sudden my app stopped tracking via GPS! :(

T70%
by T####:

I have set it to metric but it still wants the weight in lbs. I really don't want to have to keep doing the conversions, so I will find a different app that's knows what metric is. Also the events are all US based.

M70%
by M####:

I have thoroughly enjoyed using this app. Using this app for 5k prep along with lifestyle changes have contributed to losing 12 pounds for me. Great app

T70%
by T####:

Useless if you can't do the first workout and as a healthy adult male in my 30s I can't

Y70%
by Y####:

Already purchased the app by paying cash...greedy developers now pushing ads with new update

T70%
by T####:

I like the app but I think the math is off a bit. Just finished a 2.5 mile run in 31 minutes and 30 seconds and somehow it shows average pace of 7 minutes and 49 seconds. Not sure how that makes sense.

P70%
by P####:

Perfect for what I'm doing, I'm 56 and decided to run a 5K every month in 2018. This keeps me accountable and motivated to accomplish my goal.

O70%
by O####:

I didn't want to get out of bed this morning, but it's Week 6 Day 2, so I had to. Thanks for the motivation!

R70%
by R####:

I really like this app. I dont use it with other apps so cant comment on compatibility with others. Im a total novice runner and like the step by step guide.

S70%
by S####:

It's a great app for those new to running. I have yet to finish but I love that I can start from the beginning as many times as I need to.

G70%

It's whooping my a$$. So it must be working.

J70%

So far, so good! One week in and love it. :)

T70%

Off to a great start for me. The app is helping me get back into my college days shape!

T70%
by T####:

Great App to help you create a brand new U. Johnny dead is My go-to. Great work guys

N70%
by N####:

Good app although i wish the app would give you a metric option for your weight instead of just lbs.

T70%
by T####:

Great app. I use it at the end of my stregth training workout to get some structure to my cardio routine.

R70%
by R####:

Great app, but sometimes the GPS doesn't track you properly.
