Pocket Lick: Banjo

The download information said," This app is compatible with your device." After the purchase it said my device would not work. # I got ripped off .

Nice set of licks, but It could be improved a little: 1) Possibility to play the lick in loop so that you can practice along 2) Adding a mark in the sheet which would move along with the video 3) I can only play every video only once. When I try to play it again, I get "Can't play this video." message. In order to play it again, I have to close the lick and open it again.

It's a great beginner app, 10/10 recommend. Would like to see more updates when I learn all this though

Great licks

Love anything related to the banjo. I hope this app will add even more. Perhaps something could be arranged whereby users could contribute short breaks to the author. Just a thought.

Works great, I love how it gives the tab and includes a recording of the lick to listen to. My suggestions: 1. include a few licks on other keys besides G,C,D and 2. More filtering options might help, especially as the library of licks grows. Maybe be able to filter based on the key or the style, rather than browsing through them.

The absolute best banjo app ever created. I have paid 10x more on online lessons/DVD and doesn't come close to this app.

Exactly as advertised: an amazing tool to learn licks. It's worth paying attention to his exact fingerings with the left hand, lots of good stuff there (see Scruggs 17 for a good example). The apple version has more kicks than the android version but I expect that to be fixed with updates.

Tons of useful stuff here that you can begin to use immediately.

There are no ending licks and no tab showing which fingers to use.

Great app with great riffs! As a banjo and guitar teacher, I find great value in these tutorials. One suggestion to make learning these riffs easier would be to allow the video to loop, making it easier to practice over and over without interruption. The ultimate would be variable speeds to build up to full speed, but I understand that may be more difficult to add, though it would add so much to the learning experience. I'm hoping to see looping at least. Great job on this one!

I've only been playing five months now, and this app is a real eye-opener for me. If you can read tabs and are trying to bump your playing up a notch, the $2 is more than worth it. I would suggest adding a looping feature and a way to slow the pace up and down.

The app has good licks. Just wish there were more. I'm hesitant to pay for an app but this was well worth the price if you're not too advanced a player
