Stolpersteine Bretten

Stolpersteine sind Gedenksteine an Menschen, die während des NS-Regiments verschleppt, gefoltert, ermordet, in den Freitod getrieben wurden oder sich gezwungen sahen ihre Heimat zu verlassen.

Die Stolpersteine werden in den Gehwegen vor den ehemaligen Wohnhäusern der Opfer verlegt. Auf der Oberfläche der 10 x 10 cm großen Gedenksteine ist eine Messingtafel befestigt, die mit Namen und Lebensdaten der Opfer versehen ist.

Initiator der Stolpersteine ist der Kölner Künstler Gunter Demnig, der dieses Projekt im Jahre 1997 mit der Verlegung des ersten Stolpersteins ins Leben rief.
Eine hochengagierte Projektgruppe des Melanchthon-Gymnasium in Bretten hat dieses europaweite Projekt aufgegriffen und in einer App für Bretten umgesetzt:

„Mehr als 61.000 Stolpersteine (Stand: Juli 2017) liegen in über 300 Orten im In- und Ausland, darunter Karlsruhe, Stuttgart, Köln, Hamburg, Berlin, Prag und Budapest. Auch in Bretten wurden insgesamt 33 Stolpersteine verlegt.“

Erfahren Sie, welche Personen und Schicksale hinter den verlegten Steinen stecken. Innerhalb der App werden Sie „von Stein zu Stein“ navigiert und können sich Kurzbiografien der Menschen, denen mit den Steinen gedacht wird, anzeigen lassen.

Die App navigiert auch offline, es ist keine permanente Internetverbindung nötig. Es werden keine personenbezogenen Daten verwendet.
