About Plant Base Online Viewer
This is a front-end to the Deeproot Plant Base Online web encyclopedia. It is a useful resource for gardeners and landscapers, with over 11,000 plant records and 5,000 pictures.
Plants are selected by entering all or part of the name, either the Latin botanical name or a common name. Then just select from the result list.
For greatly extended selection criteria to enable more advanced plant selection, please look at the PBO Viewer PLUS edition.
A dedicated data interface is provided for the app, so that it uses the minimum bandwidth possible, usually about half that of the regular web pages.

Would like to see photos of all varieties and to be able to search by plant needs and by identifying features.

I expect each to have image for better identification, but it doesn't seems to have after search for few plants such as tomato, chilli. Disappointed...have room to further improve.

A plant database that didn't know what a Paphiopedilum or a Phragmipedium was?! Pathetic! Uninstalled.

Very useful app that lets you search for plants by Latin or common names. Lots of useful information displayed about the plant and many (But not all) have a photograph too. Works fine over 3G and WiFi. Would like to sort search results by 'Most Common' as there can be a lot of results and would like an icon indicating which search results have a pic. Has a problem with the phone's 'Back' button when returning to the search screen (On HTC One S) otherwise 5 stars. So useful I'm going to buy the pro version.

Loving this useful app for more than two years. Looking forward to seeing the continuing additions of photos as well as the geographical range to widen, so that it covers the Americas. Thank you for providing such a knowledgeable, user ready application.
