பாம்பன் குமரகுருதாச சுவாமிகள் தமிழ்நாட்டில் இராமேசுவரம் என்ற ஊரில் பிறந்த வடமொழி, தென்மொழி இரண்டிலும் புலமைபெற்று ஆறுமுகனை வழிபட்டு வந்த ஓர் தமிழ்த்துறவி ஆவார்.

திருஞானசம்பந்தர், அருணகிரிநாதர் வழியில் சித்திரக் கவிகள் எழுதியுள்ளார். தனது வாழ்நாள் முழுவதும் தமிழுக்கும் சைவ நெறியாகிய குகப்ரம்ம நெறிக்கும் தனது பாடல்களாலும், சாத்திரங்களாலும் தொண்டாற்றினார்.
