The new app is easy to use and stable. However, as a long-time birdlog user, there is one feature I really miss: in birdlog, the checklist included collapsible bird families, which made finding species very easy. You could also collapse all the families, and only expand the ones you need. It gave the app a very professional feel, which I feel is a bit lacking as of right now in the ebird app.

I've recently been unable to create checklists. After loading either full taxonomy or recent checklists, nothing I type seems to be showing up, so I have no species to select. How can I work out this issue?

V70%
by V####:

This is truly a wonderful app. It really saves you a lot of time to create your checklist as you go. That way, when you get home from a day of birding, all you have to do is submit it!

D70%
by D####:

A great free app for eBirder's. Would like to be able to attach media and other details from the app...that would be 5 stars!

W70%
by W####:

I can't review my pre recorded checklist in this app which are present in ebird website. Why is it so?

Z70%
by Z####:

It is a good app but it would have been nice if you provide features that help to identify and recognize birds

A70%
by A####:

I am a birder and I always use this app. Really good

R70%
by R####:

It could use better help and there's no way to sign out. Other than that I like it. Too bad that it only lets you enter data. I'd love to see an app that lets me query the eBird database.

J70%
by J####:

I wish I had known this before I installed it. Wishing you the best but it's not for me. Uninstalled.

Y70%
by Y####:

Thanks to the team! I love this app. It works great no matter where I bird. It is a very easy way to input the data into ebird.

We've been trying to track using Excel, but this app makes it really easy. We are thrilled to have it! It would be nice if we could click on a species and see pictures and hear sounds so we could better identify birds. We know we can do that from the Cornell website, but having it in the app would make it easier.

C70%
by C####:

Nice for birding checklists. Website has more features than the app, however (like being able to view your checklists).

by E####:

Works great.

N70%
by N####:

Ease of immediate entry and submission changed my birding habits for the better. I now tend to submit more checklists and of shorter duration. When I lost my phone I felt like I was back in the dark ages. Unfortunately, eBird crashes on my new Droid Turbo 2 every time I try to get a location. Hope I can fix that soon.

Bird Log was much easier to use. Birdlog's GPS was more accurate & quicker. Also, when choosing a species the app should default to one instead of having to enter 1. It saves time. Then you can add more individuals later. Why does this app keep logging me out? I had no Internet connection in the mountains, so I couldn't even log back in to use the app to create an offline checklist. Is there someplace in settings to keep this from happening again? Very annoying!!!

Bugs???. Keep asking to enable location in privacy setting. Quite a dissapointment. Unable to key in data today via this apps. Have to gobthru the desktop version. Please take note. I am a Adroid 6 user.

It looks like a great app but unfortunately it shuts down immediately when I press the start button. -Samsung Note 5.... ---Update: New version fixed the problem. Can't wait to try it out!

Ive found that a couple reports have been dropped by eBird, which is disappointing. Yesterday i had a 3 hour walk thru the marshes with several not-recent-for-me birds, and a rare great white heron, with accurate counts of all thst i had seen. When i checked today for my trip list the purplr martin, least tern, black rail and great white heron (GBHE white morph) did not appear. Looking further i found that the entire list didnt exist. I made sure to go thru all the submit steps. Disappointing.

I love this app. My use of eBird has increased a ton by having this app. If they would add breeding codes and the ability to mark GPS coordinates by pressing a button in the notes like the old Birdlog program I would give it a full 5 stars.

by M####:

In the past, I used to carry a small pad of paper, a watch, binocs and a bird book when birding, then entered by ebird data after getting home. Nothing replaces the binocs, and I have another app replace the book, but the ability to enter data in real time, the app using your phone's GPS to know where it is, accurately recording your trip time, and use bander's codes to make it faster, really changed the way I bird forever!

Spot on way to get your entries into ebird. Now it's very quick and easy. I found it a lot better than birdtrack

Great update to old app! Love the "quick add" function (tap white space to left of bird names in a list, incrementally add up your species sightings during birding outing). Love the clean interface. Ideally content would sync both ways - from eBird Web to app, and from app to Web version. Right now app sends complete lists ebird web, and then any future edits to list can only be made on ebird site. This is annoying if you've just forgotten to add a single species or want to add notes to comment field. Also ebird Web lists do not sync to app, so to see your most updated edited list, you must always use the Web version vs app version. Still a great, fast, easy to use app for submitting checklists in the field. Thank you!

Whenever I tried to start a new list, the app would crash. Not sure if it's my phone or the app itself. Uninstalled it and now looking for a better app

Not sure of the advantage of this over using the website. Feels largly underdeveloped. Failure to synchronize with already established lists in my account means I won't be using the app.
