About WiEye - WiFi Scanner

WiEye is a FREE 802.11 WiFi Analyzer for Android. WiEye can be used for wireless site surveys, wifi scanning, and wireless discovery. It reports the Name, BSSID, Signal Strength (dBm), Channel, and Frequency of all access points within range. It also graphs this data so you can see WiFi congestion for each available channel.

By using this WiFi scanner, you are helping support the Southern Methodist University wireless technology research group learn more about wireless signals in current use across the world and develop more efficient protocols and algorithms.

We hope that you find WiEye as a useful application for your wireless scanning needs. Alongside the application, we collect usage statistics from willing participants to be used as anonymized performance characteristics of wireless networks in many cities around the world as well as the user's context (driving, sitting, standing, etc.) when the sniffing is performed. The data will contribute to a global picture of wireless networks and their performance. We offer WiEye free of charge in the hopes that there would be a large user base for the user study. Your privacy is very important to us. Accordingly, we have developed this privacy policy in order for you to understand how we collect, use, communicate and disclose and make use of usage statistics. The following outlines our privacy policy.

Used to work fine, but the latest version is completely broken on Asus TransformerPad (TF701T running KitKat). It is also now requesting permission to make and manage phone calls, which I suspect is why it crashes on the phoneless TransformerPad, but why is this permission required?

This has been a fantastic help in getting our, our friend's and our office's wireless routers set on optimal channels. Spot on and has resulted in super stable wifi in crowded areas. Just wish the fonts were bigger!

C70%
by C####:

Good channel signal strength graph but lacks a time graph and doesn't seem to react to selecting on the graph. Useful in environments with only a few Access points, but minimalistic.

it does the stuff! i live in wheeling, wv and am constantly surrounded by idiots! i used this app to determine that two of the idiots living in my house had purchased separate i.s.p.'s and hooked them up on the same channel! merika!

This app could be awesome but the font is impossible to read without a microscope.

Only thing that bothers me is that fonts are too small to read in the main screen

Y70%
