This app locked me out of my account login!!!! After a factory reset on my phone, reinstalled ANZ Shield but when trying to log in to Internet Banking on my PC to enable it, it asks for a shield code! You know, on the app which doesn't work yet. This is outrageous that having this app, just so I can access my own money, can totally block my Internet Banking!! And what's even more annoying is the 20 minute wait for someone to answer the phone and fix the problem. Beware that if you don't keep your phone with you - you could very well lose all access to your money. Oh, and by the way, I'm a continuous ANZ customer for about 30 years - now a very unhappy ANZ customer.
The app its self works, however I'm unsure how it protects your account. I transferred two very large sums of money yesterday and never once was I asked again to enter the code online. I could have been a hacker, and the system would have allowed the transaction to occur. It would be better if you were required to enter a new code for all transactions (like the way google auth works).
Great! A multifactor auth app, I thought. That thought quickly turned to disappointment as I attempted to configure this with my internet banking and get presto I just kept getting "this isn't working, try again later". Not really confidence inspiring when a bank can't even get multifactor auth right.
Ran into two problems. 1. Used my phone to open ANZ internet banking, then clicked Profile & ANZ shield. Would not accept security questions. Rang help desk, who advised me to use a different device to get the access code. 2. Used my pc to open ANZ internet banking. However there is no "ANZ shield" button anywhere. So now unable to complete the process. It sounds like one needs TWO mobile phones to register :-/
I see why you opted for an app. It's cheaper than sending a text to a user which can then be automatically picked up by the banking app.
No idea how it works as it won't even start; it's incompatible with Android developer mode. Why not just use Google Authenticator? Can we get an explanation or response from ANZ (preferably in the app description) justifying why developer mode needs to be disabled?
It always says "we are having trouble at the moment. Please try again shortly." which is very vague
Why do we have to turn Development Mode off each time? This is very annoying for developers. Are the devs who built it using it at all?
I try this on my tablet and on my mobile and both I try to do these supposedly simple steps ...done everything as asked but always an error after clicking 'I've set up my pin'...there is sn error please try this button again ...feels like I'm going in circles
Come on anz we're up to Android 7.0... doesn't even work
Doesn't seem to work for Android 7.1 at all - forever stuck on "We're having trouble at the moment. Please try again shortly". Despite being listed as compatible with Android 7.1 devices, I suspect a dodgy, overzealous version check is stopping the app from doing what it's designed to do and making it throw a vague, unhelpful error.
I asked ANZ to de-register this app from my old phone which is broken. But PlayStore still shows it's installed on my old one. I tried to install it from other sources, the app wouldn't start. All ANZ customer service could do was telling me it's really weird...
Finally got around to setting it up and it just errors everytime I add the code it make using ANZ website extremely annoying
Why you need different apps for making a thing happen. Not good at all
Works as stated. No brainer, not sure what all the 1 star reviews are about. I think the bank could have better security messures than an app but it works none the less
After setting a PIN I couldn't complete the set up on the browser portion of the process.
Help is absolutely appalling. Can't get codes, can't deregister, can't pay my accounts. Service sucks.

This app can not be used with developer settings enabled, switch banks ANZ is years behind.

Can't get a sync code as I need to log on to internet banking - which is what I can't do as I am trying to reset my password and need a shield code. It doesn't make sense!!!

It states before you start that "You will need 2 devices". You can not set this up using only your phone! I'll likely never need this app, as I only have a credit card with a balance transfer, but those giving 1 star reviews clearly did not follow the instructions.
Where am I suppose to get Sync code?!? Can't find it anywhere. No thorough instructions. I am not an idiot. I looked out everywhere including 'How to'. Just provide clear steps to follow.
Can't go pass the Sync Code. I use an Android phone and it asks me to restart the app with no avail. I tried doing it over a Wi-Fi connection and still doesn't work.
I tried to do a transaction online. It says I need ANZ Shield to complete it, so I installed the app but then I can't complete the installation because when I try to log into my online account to set up the app I can't get past the transaction I was trying to do before, which needs ANZ Shield to complete it. It says to call customer service. Isn't that why you have online and app banking, so you don't have to call customer service? I had a similar problem with this app before when I forgot the pin.
Absolute rubbish! I have a Nokia 1520. Spent hours trying to get it to work. What the hell is ANZ releasing this stuff when it works on a limited number of phones?
I am having problems installing Shield again after swapping SIM to a new phone. And I cannot find written instructions anywhere. 10 minutes on service centre every time I manage to get locked out of my internet banking is no joke. Great when it works. Big hassle when it doesn't
Read some average reviews on this app, I followed the online instructions to the letter and it works just fine , used it a few times now with no problems at all , don't know where the negative comments come from but I used my laptop to download it to my Samsung Galaxy 2 ,it installed on my phone and works just fine.
After putting in sync code in app you go back to setup on other device and proceed to next step create pin then you need to go back to phone app and create a pin yet there is no option to do so. App is broken...
I'm trying to come back to ANZ but I'm locked out. I needed ANZ Shield to reset my PIN but during setup when I switch from the web browser to the Shield app as instructed, the Shield app says my session was interrupted and I need to start over. I did this twice it wasn't bad luck, it's a fault.
the app and the website need to sync completely over the course of 3 steps, I got to second step and the app could not continue. Samsung galaxy s6, lollipop.
Using my laptop concurrently. There was no actual button on the 'set your pin' page on the phone but the 'go' key within the keyboard worked
I don't know why can't you just use Google Authenticator or similar proven technologies. The so called *security* features of the app are really stupid! You can't use it if your phone is rooted or use developer options. Finally if anything goes wrong (which in this app happens surprisingly more often than you think) you'll end up with a locked account and have to call ANZ's customer service (i.e. stay on hold for a long time). This app is just a stupid idea implementated in worst possible way!
I tried this 3 times and after choosing a PIN on my GS6 my laptop crashed every time... app was a good idea but doesn't work :(
