This was installed on a phone that is now broken. Still showing as registered and now I'm locked out of my internet banking. Need a shield code to log in, but need to log in to sync shield. However it's never been needed to make payments though the gomoney app so it's not even protecting money anyway, has caused more headache than its worth, regret ever installing it.
I could not even get it to set up a pin. After multiple attempts using the step by step instructions I was locked out and told to call anz. Frustrated beyond words.
Good concept but you need to expand it's use. I should be able to use this app to authorize my pay anyone Max limit on the ANZ mobile app instead of having to got the ANZ full web site to do a transaction over $1000
Was working very well on an older version of Android and iPhone. However, on the Pixel and Android 7 I am unable to register. I note other users have had the same problem. Needs an update.
Summary: do not activate shield on your account or be prepared to change banks. Absolutely ridiculous app. Activated shield to increase security on my account. Worked well for a few weeks, then the app logged itself out and thus stopped all Bank transfers from working - couldn't even pay a $20 credit card bill. Got onto ANZ on the phone who deactivated shield and let me pay those bills. Surprise surprise - it still wants me to reactivate shield even though I wish I'd never installed this garbage. Still having issue transferring money and paying bills. Try the Westpac app (or change banks) it's about 100x less hassle.
Disappointed. Was great under Android 6.0.1, broke under 7, telling me to disable development mode which I know isn't turned on.
This app asks me again to enter a sync code to set it up which blocked me from doing my transaction. And when I called ANZ they were like this is just a glitch....
Great idea. Love that I don't have to call to increase my limit for one off large transfers. Super easy to set up, provided you remember all the security questions. Thanks ANZ!!
Doesn't work. Re-installed and still cant get it to work. I would have thought that a company the size of ANZ is capable to create an app that actually works
Have run into issues a few times. Customer experience is not great with this app.
Telling me not enough storage on phone. Deleted some unused apps but still not enough storage. Not bothering now as too complicated
No problems setting up & using plus it's better than answering challenge questions all time.
I have struggled for an hour from overseas to transfer a small amount to an existing payee and it took more than an hour on the phone to ANZ to resolve. Today again it will not accept my pin and after 20 minutes on the phone the issue remains unresolved.
Trying to transfer funds. Says disable developer options. Tried to figure out how to fix but gave up in the end as too technical. This is rubbish. ANZ why do you inconvenience customers when this could have been better thought through with already available proven methods? Common sense approach and less red tape. I'm disappointed.
Galaxy S6. Would give it NO STARS if possible. Simply won't open at all. Installed and uninstalled, restarted device and reinstalled 3 times but no use. ANZ techs haven't got a clue either. Billion $ profits but can't organise a very simple app. Gotta wonder. .........
In this day and age, how can a company as big as ANZ not have had their app ready for a new OS on Android? Basically making it impossible to do all my business banking with them and with no updates on when it will be fixed. Enough to make me take my banking elsewhere...
The app simply does not work. Using online banking, it asks me to input a code from ANZ Shield. When I enter ANZ Shield, I only have the option of "I have a sync code" but I have no code to input. Useless.
Tried to install. Crashed 3 times and then caused me to be locked out of internet banking. Directed me to ring 24/365 help line. Rang and automated service instructed me to ring in office hours!! App should be withdrawn until it is reliable. And don't promote 24hr help if you don't have that service
This worked until I installed the latest version, which just tells me to disable the developer options on my device continually. I have done that but it didn't help. Besides, I need the developer options for my work.
App would not work at all. Uninstalled and installed 3 times. Called ANZ for assistance and was advised i would have someone call me back to assist with app... never happened. Very disappointed ANZ.
I cannot open this app even after I disabled the developer mode. I saw another person reported same issue on 14th Feb. Very shame on you ANZ that you can't fix this issue for 6 months. Never see such ongoing issue with Commonwealth bank and their app is much smarter. It is better to close this account completely and go to another bank. Totally disappointed in your service
Does not work rang anz they can not help great bank when you can't access your money. I have followed the settings from Huawei and the app does not work. Any other app I use works except anz just hopeless to deal with if I could bank with another I would
Cannot set it up on my Google pixel.keeps saying we have a problem now try again later, for weeks now. Called anz they said ... I should try later. Great service...
cant transfer app stating connection problem due to gcm which anz dont even know what it means. no solution to the problem. absolute waste of time.
Worst app ever nothing works. Complete garbage. I wish I never installed this. I can not make any payments from my account as this garbage locked me out. Please either get rid off this or fix it
Keeps saying we're having trouble at the moment. Customer service call can't even solve the issue.
You can completely disable your account with anz where it asks you for a shield app pin and you can't get it cause installing the shield app requires you to login to your account which is asking for the shield pin. The website logs you out when you press the back button. Anz have never been good with their internet offerings, they used to have a crappy Java based site too that had various problems.
Terrible experience (trying) to use this app. Firstly it requires you to turn off developer mode on your phone and once you've jumped that minor annoyance, it doesn't work on any device that is up to date. Great work ANZ!!! Anyone wanting to transfer more than the daily limit and only have an android phone like i do will find your only option is to step into a branch and pay $10 for a bank cheque. Whats wrong with using any of a dozen MFA/OTP apps already on the market? At least they work and i wouldn't have to pay you more money for the privilege of getting access to mine.
This app locked me out of my account login!!!! After a factory reset on my phone, reinstalled ANZ Shield but when trying to log in to Internet Banking on my PC to enable it, it asks for a shield code! You know, on the app which doesn't work yet. This is outrageous that having this app, just so I can access my own money, can totally block my Internet Banking!! And what's even more annoying is the 20 minute wait for someone to answer the phone and fix the problem. Beware that if you don't keep your phone with you - you could very well lose all access to your money. Oh, and by the way, I'm a continuous ANZ customer for about 30 years - now a very unhappy ANZ customer.
The app its self works, however I'm unsure how it protects your account. I transferred two very large sums of money yesterday and never once was I asked again to enter the code online. I could have been a hacker, and the system would have allowed the transaction to occur. It would be better if you were required to enter a new code for all transactions (like the way google auth works).
Great! A multifactor auth app, I thought. That thought quickly turned to disappointment as I attempted to configure this with my internet banking and get presto I just kept getting "this isn't working, try again later". Not really confidence inspiring when a bank can't even get multifactor auth right.
Ran into two problems. 1. Used my phone to open ANZ internet banking, then clicked Profile & ANZ shield. Would not accept security questions. Rang help desk, who advised me to use a different device to get the access code. 2. Used my pc to open ANZ internet banking. However there is no "ANZ shield" button anywhere. So now unable to complete the process. It sounds like one needs TWO mobile phones to register :-/
I see why you opted for an app. It's cheaper than sending a text to a user which can then be automatically picked up by the banking app.
No idea how it works as it won't even start; it's incompatible with Android developer mode. Why not just use Google Authenticator? Can we get an explanation or response from ANZ (preferably in the app description) justifying why developer mode needs to be disabled?
It always says "we are having trouble at the moment. Please try again shortly." which is very vague
Why do we have to turn Development Mode off each time? This is very annoying for developers. Are the devs who built it using it at all?
I try this on my tablet and on my mobile and both I try to do these supposedly simple steps ...done everything as asked but always an error after clicking 'I've set up my pin'...there is sn error please try this button again ...feels like I'm going in circles
Come on anz we're up to Android 7.0... doesn't even work
Doesn't seem to work for Android 7.1 at all - forever stuck on "We're having trouble at the moment. Please try again shortly". Despite being listed as compatible with Android 7.1 devices, I suspect a dodgy, overzealous version check is stopping the app from doing what it's designed to do and making it throw a vague, unhelpful error.
I asked ANZ to de-register this app from my old phone which is broken. But PlayStore still shows it's installed on my old one. I tried to install it from other sources, the app wouldn't start. All ANZ customer service could do was telling me it's really weird...
