METRO DE MADRID invites you to find out the best way to reach your destination by using the Official Application.
It is an application for simple immediate use that will enable you to consult:
-MAP
Up-to-date map of the whole Metro network.
-TOURIST MAP
Map with the main points of tourist interest in the city.
-LINES
You will have at your disposal all the information on the lines, with transfers and station services, besides the current train running situation in real time.
-STATIONS
All the Services and Connections of the station you select.
-ROUTES
It locates us by GPS and provides us with information on the station nearest to where we are, allowing us to choose a destination station or the station closest to the chosen destination, besides recommending the most suitable route with the fewest stations or with the fewest transfers. In addition, it tells you the approximate journey time.
It also enables you to plan your journeys by directly entering a Start and Destination station, allowing you to select either the fewest stations or fewest transfers option and telling you how long this journey will take you.

The app doesn't show the direction of the line to take so you have to check it on site. It's much easier if the very app show which direction on the line to take .

Using the map to find routes is absolutely useless. First of all starts me out in space. We're in MADRID... maybe we should start there? Then you have to enter addresses? Why have a map. Should be able to tap a place, and the app would give you an address. Clunky.... VERY. And, again, it needs end terminals in the routes so we know which direction to get on... right now I carry around a paper map so I can see end points. Google maps is much better for mapping routes.

This has all the info you need to get around Madrid. Accurate route & fare info well organized. Go over its parts before you get to Madrid. Add the CityMaps2Go app for minute street details and you'll be able to get around like a local.

Hmmm… no veo el apartado HORARIO DE HUELGAS, TIEMPO ESTIMADO DE METRO PARADO EN CADA ESTACIÓN ANTES DE PARTIR, ESCALERAS ELÉCTRICAS FUERA DE ACCIÓN, TIEMPO DE ESPERA ENCERRADO EN TÚNEL o HORARIO DE HUELGA “EN CUBIERTA”... Bueno, supongo que esta será una funcionalidad que añadirán en la versión 2.0. Creo que seria una buena opción, desde luego les vendría muy bien al equipo de la comisión de las Olimpiadas 2020... para que se hagan una buena idea de cómo van a ser recibidos los cientos de miles (si no millones) de viajeros extras a Madrid. En fin hay que dar la enhorabuena al equipo que han producido el producto ya que, por lo que entiendo, lo han producido trabajadores de Madrid Metro sin tener que salir a una empresa externa. Esto por lo menos muestra que son mas espabilados, tienen mejor actitud, son mas profesionales y tiene una vista “mas larga” que la mayoría de sus compañeros. Si tengo un ratito mirare la aplicación mas seriamente para ver la calidad informativo y grafico del mismo. Buen viajes por Metro Madrid en 2013 todos!

I like this app but when I need to see the time schedule, it says “currently unscheduled” so many times and I don't know when the metro comes.
