Barron's 1100 for GRE

If I go another app and come back to this app then the meaning that was shown before and after is different fix this problem to get the another 2 stars rest every thing was nice

It's very easy to use since we can choose different types of subsets and can highlight the words we don't know or would like to revisit. The flash card option is also available in the free version which is much easier to learn from than the whole list. The algorithm for the flash card order however could be improved since currently words sometimes comes right after the other.

I loved this app so much that I ended buying the full version. However as pointed out by many, it would be awesome if the word list can be expanded to mimic Barron's book. This would make the app complete and would serve a great learning tool for vocabulary. Hi

The apps contain lots of words which are very helpful. However, the software is not very good.sometimes one word is repeated consecutively in the flashcard.

Well it doesn't give all possible GRE type synonyms related words which may be useful in 2 or 3 options and blanks. Also a search feature should be there when one tries to remember the word.

Really good app. Free from annoying ads and does not have any regular prompts to purchase quiz. Highly recommended.

A wonderful app that helps to build vocabulary in a succinct manner. However I suggest that instead of a static word list users have an option to update word list after completion of the given words. It would also help to have a pictionary sort of feature.

Great app!! That would be even more effective if choice not given in case of quiz. There are some words which can be replaced with more frequents.. all over best application for self prep GRE.

This app was really convenient to study with. I just used the free version, and it was extremely helpful. I used a couple other apps to study vocab, and they were all great, but this was my favorite. Thanks for making it free!

It's very good app for GRE preparation. The words can be learned easily using the Flash cards or Word list.

Great app! The flash cards are very helpful in remembering tough words. Would be great to select multiple sets together and use it for practice in flashcards. Other than that , loved it!

The pro of this app is that allows the user to study words not in an alphabetical order, in packages of 45 or all 1000 combined. I recomend it to anyone who is interested in enriching his vocabulary.

It has good features like definition , flash cards and quiz. But it will be more comfortable and easy if visual representation of each word is also included.

Dear developers can we get it in the apple app store also? This is just an amazing app and I want to continue using it on my new device too ????

It's interesting but some word's definitions are quite difficult for non native students like me because for many words I need to use separate dictionary.

It's a nice app.. I have upgraded to premium but not able to access it..how can I access it.

I'm using this application not as my main source of practice but as a supportive resource. It is very easy to use. I'm mostly practicing the flashcards when I'm walking my dog. However they randomize and repeat the words, I'm very happy with it. It's efficient and seems to work for me. I'm considering to post for the quizes when I finish all the sets. Combining multiple sets would be a feature I'd use. Thanks for the good job developers! :)

They have flashcards as well as example sentences of how they're used in context - optimal for learning vocab for the GRE. You can also mark those words you have trouble to create custom flashcard sets, something which Magoosh lacks.

A great app! A suggestion, though - the option to choose the list or the alphabet for the flashcards should be there on the FlashCard fragment only. Also, I really appreciate that app does not impose obstructive ads. I thank the developer for not being greedy and adding just the non-intrusive banner ads. :)

Pros- Nice and simple user interface. Option to mark words in each set. Flash cards are randomized and give awesome user experience. Things which could be improved - Adding more info for each word, like synonyms, antonyms, sample usage.

It has a lot of words, and has good definitions. It also make you master the words by asking you several times. You can also "star" words that you want more practice on, and take a quiz just on those

Although it does its job of increasing your vocabulary, it lacks some basic features that are indispensable, like pronunciation, etymology and custom sentences. Also, more than one example sentence would be much more helpful to learn and retain the meanings. It should not be difficult to add these in the near future releases.

It would be much better if you guys can include the option of adding Email id/ acc. So that the data can be synced. So if the app is restarted, we won't be worried about the lost data.

Having tried a few other apps.. I have finally stuck to this.. Perhaps the best and most user friendly app that gives a list, flash card, quiz, marking, filters all in 1 app.. One suggestion though, if you can enable the selection of multi options from filter list.. Say I want to practise set 1, 2 and 3 together.. So I can select them from filter at the same time.. Other than that pretty much has it all :)

The app is good. I have purchased quiz also. However, there's a delay when you switch between apps, say I switch from Merriam to Barron's, the word which I was last at, takes infinite time to load after I come back to Barron's. Also, a 'new' word loads. As a user I expect quick loading when I switch between apps. It will be great if this is rectified.

When switching to flashcard screen from the following: word list screen, quiz screen, switching from different app to barrons app, minimizing the barrons app, opening app switcher and coming back to barrons app, locking/unlocking the phone, the flashcard shows a new word. This is not a major flaw and the app can be used with this but this does create some annoyance when this happens. How come it never was catched by the testing team? I have shuffle feature on and using set 1.

There are two flaws, one is that they have around 800-900 words and not 1100 and another is that the meanings of some words are confusing and I used to refer dictionary for meanings. But I got addicted to it and so gave an extra star.

If i touch wordlist/flashcards/quize tabs right before the setting gear application gets stopped with message 'unfortunately barrons 1100stopped working'. Also stopps when switching apps. A suggestion: update either the words are noun/adjective etc.

The app is really helpful. But when the screen gets locked and i unlock, the app automatically takes me to a new word without me pressing the next button. Please fix this bug.

Definitely a decent app. But some of the definitions are vague and sometimes doesn't match up with the Barron's book. Moreover, the words and example sentences are in pretty small fonts.

Only one problem- can't access premium version even though gave the credit card details.... Shows incorrect card though it's authentic

This is by far the best GRE vocab app. I wish the vocab quizzes and tests were free as well. Students do not have money, you know:)))

I am using this app to build my vocabulary for the GRE. So far I have had a great experience with this app....its worth it to pay the dollar for the premium version to quiz yourself.

This app is really useful. Please implement search option in the app. I have to scroll all the way down if I have to find a word. And also in the word list if I select a word I can see only it's meaning and not it's example sentence. It would be of great help if I could see the sentence in the word list also because flashcards are shuffled and there is noway I can search them there.

The option of selecting words is really helpful. You can scan over the entire list,mark all the unknown words and change the settings so that only those are shown. It saves a lot of time.

The flash cards added a lot of fun to learning making it much easier to memorise the words. You can also read sentences having the particular word which again aids to the learning process. Overall a good app for Gre.

No much use with these words, as many are not seen in actual exam and many used in GRE are not in the list at all...

Great app. Since vocabulary is a large part of the GRE, this app assists you in expanding your vocabulary which is essential if you want a high verbal score.

No better source odd prep for the gre verbal section

The quiz is a good way to increase word retention and recollection :)
