JG SOS bodyguard

SOSbodyguard is a family locator application and an emergency service.
This App is totally free and ONLY relies on SMS protocol. There is nobody, no server “in the middle”.
Consequently SOSbodyguard is totally secure for YOU and your bodyguard.

Typical use :
- Family locator : where are my children ? SOSbodyguard will answer
- I want to tell my friends where I am. SOSbodyguard will do it for you
- I want to ask my dad to pick me up. SOSbodyguard will send an SMS with your location
- I am aggressed. SOSbodyguard will send an SOS alarm to all your bodyguards
- You lost your phone. Ask your bodyguard to track it

The App must be installed on both your phone and the Bodyguard’s one.
If YOU need a bodyguard, you pick his phone number into your contacts and declare it as a “Bodyguard”.

The bodyguard :
- will receive SMS SOS alarms from you
- can allow the SOS alarm to be displayed on a map, in real time (even when the phone is locked)
- can request a real time tracking of your position
- can stop real time tracking
- can request to trigger an automatic phone call from your phone (silent mode no ringtone)
- will receive any other SMS sent by you as any “normal contact”

YOU :
- can choose your bodyguards (more than one is possible)
- can allow a bodyguard to track you (or not)
- can allow a bodyguard to trigger your phone call (or not)
- can add any contact you want as a “normal contact” (not a bodyguard)
- can group contacts into selected groups
- can send location messages to a particular contact or to a group of contacts
- can trigger an alarm to all your bodyguards, even when the phone is locked : Simply push volume button and immediately switch off the screen. Nothing more, can be done into your pocket (witch on, volume button, switch off)

a “normal contact” :
- will only receive SMS sent specifically by you (but not SOS alarms)
- can display these messages on a map

Important notice :
When you install this App, you keep the full control. It is up to you to declare your bodyguards and to give them the “power you want”. For security purpose you can also password lock your bodyguard’s configuration. This is useful if you want to install the app on your children’s phone and don’t want that they modify the settings…
As a bodyguard you also keep the control. You can choose the alarm sound (or no sound), you can choose to pop up the map or not, to just have a notification or none…
Finally you can setup a “confidence network” as the same app can handle both “bodyguards” and “protected”. You can simply be the bodyguard or your bodyguard !

Technical stuff :
- SOSbodyguard protects your battery. Nothing runs in the background
- SOSbodyguard uses location services either GPS or “coarse location”. No need to have GPS on systematically even if coarse location is less precise than GPS, the App will work.
- SMS will be received also into your stock SMS application. This is now a new “security feature” introduced by google starting from android 4.4.1 (kitkat). There is no way to avoid this…
- You can decide to encrypt SOSbodyguards SMS if you don’t want them to be readable into your stock SMS App
- Ads : the App is totally free and as no limitation. The ads are there to help me sponsor new applications !
