【概要説明】
『アクセル・ワールド』は、川原礫による日本のライトノベル。イラストはHIMAが担当。電撃文庫（アスキー・メディアワークス）より、2009年2月から刊行されている。略称は「AW」。

【ストーリー】
2046年、ニューロリンカーというウェアラブルコンピュータを用いることで生活の半ばが仮想ネットワーク上で行われるようになっても、未だ人が現実社会の軛から逃れられずにいる世界。

東京都杉並区にある私立梅郷中学校に通う少年ハルユキは、小柄かつ肥満体型と内向的な性格から、幼少期の頃よりいじめや嘲りの対象となり、辛い日々を送っていた。

いじめは中学に入学してからも収まらず、ハルユキはままならない現実を呪いながら学内ローカルネットの片隅に設置されているスカッシュゲームのスコアを伸ばすだけの日々を送っていた。

そんなある日、ハルユキは副生徒会長を務め周囲から羨望の眼差しを受ける美貌の上級生黒雪姫から謎めいた言葉を告げられる。

「もっと先へ――『加速』したくはないか、少年」

戸惑いながらも黒雪姫の誘いに応じたハルユキは、有線直結通信で謎のアプリケーションソフト「ブレイン・バースト」をインストールされる。
