Daily American Somerset News

I am a subscriber and the app gets updated mid day At BEST . It's old news by then. I called the office and was informed to use the Web based page. That works good other than the annoying advertisements. If I am a subscriber there should be no advertisements. Seriously considering dropping the subscription. I realize some of the reviews on here are ridiculous but when you pay for it and don't receive it is guess it's deserved.

For the last two years I have been able to see what is going on at home now they do an update and suddenly want you to pay for full access. A load of bull @$!#. Don't force an update and then make us pay. You don't even cover anything more than local news. At least with bigger name newspapers they cover local and national and international news. Rip off! !!!!

App isn't even loading the news feed at all now!

I would love to read stories from my home county.. BUT when I put in my account info, it asks me to "Please choose one of the following subscriptions below", BUT THERE ARE NO OPTIONS TO CHOOSE FROM! I've tried calling the paper to get help, they never returned my calls!

It used to work okay now when I click on articles or the classifieds it won't let me scroll. I have a subscription and I feel this should be fixed. It's annoying.

Use to love this app and now you need a subscription to see it. Way to ruin a great thing for everyone. A simple 99 cent.fee would have got you more money and users than a 7 dollar web subscription. What a sham. No thanks but thanks for.freeing up memory on my phone now at least!

Why should everyone get to read for free when others pay for a subscription. Its $7 a month and if you get the actual paper, its free. Not everything in life is free, get over it. Stop saying they only want money, because if that was true, it'd be a lot more than $7. Maintaining an app or website costs money. Just imagine how much money they lost from people seeing it all for free. And they do cover more than just local in the actual paper. Stop expecting things to just be handed to you for free.

What is the point of a news app that does no good unless you are log in. complete waste,

The New York Times can justify charging for content, the Somerset Daily American can't. Also, I imagine the legal team at the Associated Press will be interested in your business model of reselling their content. One positive thing, you probably won't need to update the app again.

Once a fully free app now you have to pay to read a article. I work away from home and can't read the paper everyday. I just want the fully free app back.
