Kereskedő és a gonosz szellem

A Kereskedő és a Gonosz Szellem című mese valójában három mesét fűz egybe.
A mohamedán kereskedő hosszú, viszontagságos utazása során kénytelen ígéretet tenni a Gonosz Szellemnek,
hogy napra pontosan egy esztendő múlva visszatér hozzá. Az esztendő leteltekor a kereskedő ígéretéhez híven elindul a Gonosz Szellemhez,
ám útja során találkozik három öregemberrel, mindhárom más-más állattal vándorol.
A három öregember és a hozzájuk tartozó állatok története végül megmenti a kereskedőt a Gonosz Szellem haragjától.
